Giddy was more flamboyant but Kenny Swain was the best right back I’ve seen at the Villa. I can’t believe he is 70 though.

Pretty sure it was the season we won the League. A player got injured ( can't remember if it was Villa or opposition ) . Kenny picked the ball up and started throwing it to a young kid in the Trinity Road lower and did a heading practice exercise ,  while throwing the ball and catching it as the young lad headed it back to Kenny . I remember watching from the Holte  with enormous jealousy .

I think Kenny was absolutely superb for two years, combining the defensive skills he had had to learn under Ron with his attacking and fine crossing ability (watch those videos, Matty Cash!).

How he never played for England is beyond my understanding.

Two games into the new season (82/3), after a 5-0 thrashing at Goodison, he presumably had a massive fall-out with the manager and never played for us again, joining Forest, at first on loan, then permanently.

Before my time, but I've always loved that touch against Liverpool, when he oversteps the ball and rolls it behind him to Shaw to put Mortimer through, there's something of the Brazil 70 team in it's nonchalance.
