Always thought of himself and his interests before the Villa IMHO. Listen to Tony Morley on the  Claret & Blue podcast if you need confirmation. That said Sir Brian, Paul McGrath and lots of other players always have a good word to say about him.
I think Dennis Mortimer being the greatest Aston Villa captain ever, has the right tell us all if we were right or wrong.
