Before I watch the footage I will trust my memory by saying Steve McMahon scored a decent goal in the game and we won 2-1.

Wasn't Dennis Mortimer in dispute with the club in the summer of 1983 regarding his contract and because of that replaced as captain by Allan Evans? It was the summer we sold Ken McNaught to Albion due to a contract dispute and around that time I seem to recall rumours that Dennis Mortimer could also be leaving to go to Albion. In one summer newspaper report it was suggested McNaught, Mortimer and Morley were all on their way to The Hawthorns. McNaught went the week before the season started and Morley followed half way through the season but they didn't get Mortimer who left for Brighton at the end of the 1983-1984 season.

Yep, great goal from McMahon.

Crowd announced as just under 20,000 but looks like way more than that to me
