A Royal Team Talk: Tackling Mental Health

Not seen this mentioned much, if at all. But an important subject, with Villa connections in the programme.

If you count Jenas as a Villa player for having mugged a living off us that is a pretty good Villa contingent.  Willie Windsor, Gareth Southgate, Peter Crouch and the Frenchman whom we were led to believe nearly became our manager.

Don't fall into that trap ffs. Watching that coverage of his other half receiving plaudits for single handedly engineering some type of garden adventure park reminded me what a bunch of pointless spunk trumpets they all are.

It’s the first time I’ve ever thought a Royal justifies their existence. I still don’t think there is a need to give them taxpayers money, but never mind being a villa man, if he keeps it up like this the potential culture change could be money well spent.

I’ve hit pause half way through this and so far I think it’s simplicity is stunningly good.
Having come in as a service user and then working in the MH system over 20yrs it’s obviously an area close to my heart. I often say a massive fraction of my work is normalising experience, and William clearly grasped this early in life.

One thing, that I have to confess I’ve never quite been able to let go of, is how we treated Crouchy. An ex’s first Villa game was an away match in London and we were giving it the “There’s only one Rodney Trotter”. Ok it’s not as bad as some of the stuff he got, but the sheer irrational aspect of having a pop at our own player made me ashamed. Of course I couldn’t explain it to the person sitting next to me, it was embarrassing- *clearly* not supporting.

It’s shocking to watch and hear how his England debut went even worse.

I watched it it was very good high lighting the metal health problems in men as you know I do volunteering with the Mind charity and Mental Health issues are close to my heart and it's a thing I'm passionate about well worth watching.

I thought it was excellent. Danny Rose went way up in my estimation.
