Blues v Villa November 1994
« on: February 02, 2018, 11:34:27 PM »
Anyone here remember the above 'friendly' - held to 'celebrate' the opening of the new Tilton and Kop stands at the sty ?

It was the first game we played after BFR was canned - after the 4-3 away defeat v Wimbledon

Cant remember the result - but two things stick in my memory:

1. i watched the match from the center of the Tilton End - LOL

2. We fielded a triallist at CF - I remember him being Dutch (?) , I think

Anyone else remember it?

I was living abroad at that time but I remember John Frain's testimonial at the sty in 1996. I think we won 6-0 even though we had Allan Evans and Brian Little on the pitch for us at some point. Villa fans were trying to remove the bench seating on the railway end and noses were waiting mob handed for us in the car park outside.

I think that's the one when they scored and had a pitch invasion. For a goal in a friendly. The small time wankers.
