Luke Moore
« on: November 19, 2016, 10:26:36 AM »
Anyone know what Luke Moore is upto now, he seems to have vanished from the face of the earth since he was released from Toronto in Feb'2016. He's only 30 a little young to have retired and surely he hasn't amassed enough money to never work again.

Moore is the biggest disappointment of all the potentially great players we have had pass through Villa Park. I was convinced he was the next big thing around 2005 and figured he would go on to be one of the best around anywhere. He was never quite the same when he returned from shoulder surgery in 2006 and seemed to have lost his desire.

He had some future, remember the Youth Cup final first leg at Goodison when he stole the show and outshone by a mile Wazza.

I recall seeing him and his brother tearing up youth opposition on a few occasions and thinking that they could be something really special.

The thing about youth football is that is all speed where 1st team football relies on having a football brain as well as being an athlete.

Football now is all about pace and power.  You don't get your Alan  Balls or Walks on Water anymore.

If your not training full time and your touching 30 must be hard to keep in contention.

That's pretty much what Jack Horner told Dirk Diggler in Boogie Nights.

Seeing as he failed to show up for this season, I doubt it. Shame, Toronto have a good chance of the MLS title this year.
