Des never played for us again, Dennis made one start and one sub appearance. Didn't Turner come out with something along the lines of "the sooner he (Dennis) leaves the club the better"?

I think we sold Des for something stupid like ten grand and he was probably their best player for about four years afterwards.

Get it right.

The Evening Mail's Headline of something like "For god's sake, Jo, go!" was scandalous.

Memorable though, unlike most of the games under his tenure.

Agree that he did seem to be ahead of the curve vis a vis training methods, but if you don't have near instant success players will always look for a cop out.

If Wenger had struggled in his first season results-wise, Adams, Merson and co would have been very quick to say he tried to do too much too soon.

Did this cricket and golfing help with the next few results after the interview was done?

More importantly who was bibs and who was cones.

He brought - well Doug - Peter Withe in as assistant. Letting John Ward go was a big mistake
