I remember that match as it was the first time I went to an away match on my own as a 15 year old. Told my folks I was going with a mate, didn't need to worry some blokes on the Travellers Club coach said they'd keep an eye out for me.

All I can remember of the game was Arsenal dominating the second half before Pricey broke away to keep us in the title race. Coach driver told us all to close the curtains on the way back just in case we got bricked.

If my memory is correct this was the game where Chris Price missed a chance shortly before his goal and one of our travelling party commented that he would never score for us as long as he had a hole in his arse. Cue lots of stick flying his way after the goal and on the journey home. Again if my memory is correct he was actually our driver for that game and  whilst stuck in roadworks on the motorway got so fed up of a certain H&V poster moaning about how little sleep he was going to get before being up for work in the morning (which I think involved travelling back to London) he dragged him out of the car and wouldn't let him back in until he promised to keep quiet.

Got in about 3 and was back on the M1 at around 6.30 in the back of the van trying to sleep on rolls of cable and a pair of step ladders.

When we were at a standstill I remember talking to some lads from the Ancoats Man City supporters club who were travelling back from QPR, we bonded over our hatred for Newton Heath, long before it was really fashionable.

Was that sublime reverse pass from Cascarino the only positive thing he did after joining? Had to laugh at the video going all blurry and distorted once the goal went in. Endless rewinds from the original VCR no doubt taking its toll on the picture. Brings back memories of tracking like a bastid to clear-up fuzzy video pictures.

Spink pulled off a brilliant reflex save ten minutes or so before. Nice little champagne icon on-screen to display Ian St John's choice of Nige as man of the match.

Such a shame we blew the run in with losses to Wimbledon and draws with Norwich & Everton.

I was walking on air out of White Hart Lane convinced we would win the league but we never recovered from the Wimbledon defeat a few days later. We lost at Palace (to a Garry Thompson goal if I remember right) and at home to Man City and the Norwich draw handed Liverpool the title.
