Family Fun Days
« on: April 02, 2013, 12:14:23 AM »
I'm bringing my nephew to his first match at Villa Park for the Fulham game.

Apparently it's a Family Fun Day but I can't seem to find out anything about what they are, does anyone know what happens?

I wanted to know if getting to Villa Park early was worth it or not and what he might expect.

Thanks or your help.

They had a really good one last time I was at VP prior to the game against Everton in August 2010. The Villa academy building next to the North Stand carpark was full of kids activities (such as try and kick the ball through the targets in the goalposts, mini matches being played with Hercules and Bella the mascots etc. ), but best of all was that all the trophies of Villa's past were on display where you could get your photo taken. If it's 'owt like that it will be as much fun for Uncle Drummond as the young fella.

There was one a couple of weeks ago. Here is the thread about it.

Thanks both, looks like an early start may be worth it then.

I think they're brilliant and to add to the 'Match Day Experience' I see no reason why it couldn't happen at every game. It's relatively cheap to put on.

My only advice would be to get there early, if you roll up 45 minutes before kick off it does get busy/hectic and little ones could get a little disapointed at not having a go at things because of the queues. We got there last time a couple of hours before kick off and had a go at everything.

I took my 3 week old son to that, he had his photo take with all the trophies, with Ian Taylor, Des Bremner, Tony Morley and the mascots. Needless to say I enjoyed it more than him but I love the photo's we got.
