This was ome of the first games I remember going to.

It was certainly a million times better than the same fixture the previous season.

I remember it being fucking freezing that day.  However, I have no explanation as to why the pitch at the Holte End is covered in snow and the pitch at the Witton End looks comparatively tropical.

Yes it was very cold and the pitch totally frozen towards the Holte - may not have gone ahead had it been played in this day in age.

One memory of the match that sticks in my mind is a particularly amazing piece of skill from the Lord our Saviour, Paul McGrath.

Defending the Holte, on a surface that made the likes on Niall Quinn look like Bambi on Ice the ball was drilled in to the box from out wide.  Macca, faccing the Holte did a mid air back heeled flick at the near post and managed to clear the ball out of the box and we started a counter attack.  Without trying to get too misty eyed over the great one, it was a particularly superb piece of skillful defending from a player that excelled at it week in week out, similar to his tackle on Ronnie Rosenthal at Anfield in 1993.

He had that flying back-heel clearance down to a fine art

Funny I have no recollection of that game. Remember David White hammering us the previous year though. Even my memory hates me!
