Top Villa scout to leave for German second division side

Michael Henke to take coaching role at Ingolstadt

Aston Villa’s head of European scouting, Michael Henke, is set to leave the club for a coaching role at German second division club FC Ingolstadt.

Henke, who was Lambert’s assistant manager under Ottmar Hitzfeld at Borussia Dortmund, was recruited to Villa’s talent-spotting network last August from Iranian side Esteghlal.

The 55-year-old will not leave until February at the earliest, so his departure will have no impact on Villa’s transfer activity this month.
