An Article Written In 1949 About The Villa
« on: June 12, 2012, 10:28:05 AM »
I just stumbled upon this nice little website whilst looking for a bit of info on Andy Ducat. If you're interested in buying/looking at old football articles this would be a good place to cast your eye.

There's a nice piece here:
 http://www.auctiva.com/hostedimages/showimage.aspx?gid=1316696&ppid=1122&image=500318558&images=500318558&formats=0&format=0

from the late forties that makes a lovely case for Villa being the greatest club around bar none.

If you look further at some of the other articles you will find an advert from a London sports shop retailing "MacGregor" Boots and shirts in The Aston Villa Style.

I love looking at old stuff like this because it reminds me of what football was like before TV started telling us that it's all about Liverpool/Man Utd and the like.  More importantly it reminds me that we were the original giants of the game.

As I say, there's some nice little articles on this site - well worth having a look if you have a spare moment or two.
