The Guardian aren't anti-Villa any more than they are anti any other club.

No, they are. They used to be based in Manchester and now they're in London.

As someone who has visited both cities, I can confirm that everyone who lives in either city does nothing but rock back and forth, foaming at the mouth with jealousy about Aston Villa in particular, and Birmingham generally.

They've never forgiven us for our meek, docile mediocrity.

I think everyone knows the score. Any national newspaper is full of stories about the mancs, arsenal, chelsea liverpool because thats their reader base. they can say what they like about us because we're not that important in the big scheme of newspaper circulation, and frankly there's more manc chelsea, arsenal liverpool fans locally than there is villa or blose or wba or wolves - Walk through birmingham on any saturday and count the shirts. Personally i don't give a shit if some london based journo wants to ridicule Bent or Gabby. No doubt in a year or two's time he'll be thraping himself sore about them once they're wearing the right shirt.
