From British Pathe's Archive.

I came across this quite by accident and it's well worth a look.
The fourth clip down is from 1920 and titled "Aston Villa start training" can anyone name the two players?

I thought the player starting on the left was Jimmy Gibson, but its dated 1920 which is a bit too early for him.
The `referee` is wearing a dog collar I see and looks a little like Father Jack. Feck ! Drink !
