Put some steel in the middle (an arse kicking defender), keep Nzog and SI away, play Bazza in the middle of the park just in front of said arse kicking guy.    Then we will win.

so that is Collins in Midfild then?

Has Joey Barton suddenly turned into Roy Keane at his peak?!?  He's at QPR for some very good reasons and they don't all revolve around his temperament.

Had I posted this last Sunday, I would have said a draw, but after the midweek debacle, I am going for a backlash, a fighting preformance and a win.

I think for once on the pre-match thread, people are being entirely realistic to be honest and basing their judgements on current form which is something of a novelty on here I have to say. What was unbelievable was people posting us to win 3 and 4-0 against Newcastle and Bolton to my mind....

Exactly my thoughts. Barton being thought of as some latter day Roy Keane or Bryan Robson is, I think, just a reflection of the utter paucity of talent across most of the Premier League. When a guy like this can stand out as one of the better talents in the division, you know things are hitting an all time low...

We may be ok today, but only if Eck plays 4-5-1. Of course, he may think he's adding defensive solidity, but it would actually add greater attacking freedom and fluidity. That said, he'll still probably play Bannan out bloody wide, if he plays him at all.

I can't see us scoring without N'Zog playing like we know he can.

I'm looking forward to this game anxiously hoping for a decent performance at least.

Time for Charles to step up to the plate me thinks.

Greetings from sunny zanzibar!

Bolton game sounded like a write-off. Is Jenas likely to be fit for this?

I'd probably play 4-3-3, with the normal back 4, Petrov, Delph and Jenas / Ireland in midfield and then N'Zogbia, Gabby and I guess Albrighton although he seems shockingly out of form so perhaps Bannan would be a better bet?

I really get the feeling that Albrighton might be a spent force already - Luke Chadwick mark 2. Here's hoping not.

Will be watching the game in a beach bar. Not expecting much pretty.

I've decided after c 25 plus years of following villa that the sensible thing is just to care less about them in the future. It's just not worth the anguish!
