Away Boro - Littlewoods Cup 87/88
« on: September 24, 2011, 03:58:11 PM »

A night when only the die hards were prepared to make the long trip !

They were rewarded with an Aspinall winner and a last minute penalty save by Spinksy.

I went to the 2nd leg - another 1-0 win thanks to Birchy.

Just imagine if we had Birchy in the middle today.

I was one of the 200.The home fans fighting the police to get to us was fun.

I'm 99% sure I was at the home game but have zero recollection of it. Then again, home games against Boro never seem to stick in the memory.

I was there. We always used to drink in the Captain Cook which is now one of the closest pubs to the new ground.

That was the way - rotating spikes on top of the fences. Classy.
