Who on here did engage in idol worship of Pires?

Idol worship of Pires = saying he's a gamble worth taking considering that we have eigth midfielders out injured

Yep I got slagged off on here because of my lack of Idol worship for a has been footballer that had absoloutely no affinity with our club. A bloke who got hired because he was French. We sent blokes off on loan so that primodona could sit on the bench and get steem rollered the moment he set foot on the pitch. Just like Houlier at Anfield the bloke was more concerned with his legacy at another club than The Villa.
When we will ever learn?

On the contrary, far from hero worship the majority of people on here did nothing but moan about it from the moment we signed him.

He was a good signing at the time considering we were struggling to get a five a side game for training. He should have been let go earlier than he was. The net outlay was minimal.

Precisely he was hardly a disastrous signing. We didn't spend much on him and he may have passed on some useful experience to the young players.
