I was there but split my time between watching the match and keeping an eye on the West Ham fans on the other side of the dividing ribbon that was supposed to act as crowd segregation back then!
Spot on!
We had about a third of their south bank and there was a just a ribbon seperating us.
From memory it was fullish but not packed and from memory we went a goal down and then we scored a scrappy goal with I think Tony Daley bundling one in.
Then old Brendan lumped it from 40 yards and it was going over the stand when at the last minute it dipped under the bar and past Tom Mcallister.
The were no cameras there at all that day and my one abiding memory is when ormsby scored a bloke from the Villa end ran on the pitch did a little dance and got arrested and kicked out. he reappeared next to me about 5 minutes later minus his jumper and said he took it off so they wouldn't recognise him and he got let back in.
