There's always the "Drudge Report" for those with a more conservative outlook (NB - not your right-wing extremist, bible-bashing, Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly type of "conservative", just a right of centre viewpoint).

However, that site now looks very dated in terms of design.
