0%Villa: Ferguson Speaks on American Radio
« on: October 26, 2010, 09:08:30 AM »
On an American radio station yesterday, Ferguson suggested that Rooney's behaviour had done little for the image of the sport.

"It's difficult enough to deal with the issue of winning the matches without having the publicity attached to the club, which sometimes doesn't send football out in a good light.

"We want to try to always be a great part of the game and [have] the right reasons for being a great part of the game. Unfortunately, last week we had a couple of days of unfortunate information.

"At Manchester United, you can never be surprised because there is always something happening at the club and there are always issues to deal with. I think a lot of the publicity maybe we didn't enjoy, but you have to deal with these situations and I think we dealt with it very well."

Of course, refusing to respect Premier League rules regarding availability for interviews is always trying to be a 'great part of the game', isn't it?

I would suggest Fergusons attitude toward the game for the last 20 odd years has not shown it in a particularly good light either.
