There's nothing wrong with apppointing a singer as a football advisor. Blues expect to announce DJ Talent as their's any day now.

These gentlemen are more or less advisers, they are not the experts, but advisers.

If they're not experts, then what qualifies them to advise?

And I'm more concerned about an 88 year old American being involved who's probably never even seen a game of 'soccer'!!

An opera singer, and a doddery retired US  (where "soccer" is for girls)  politician to advise on the curing the ills of football's governing body.   You honestly couldn't make it up.  I used to think Blatter was just corrupt and arrogant.  Now I'm convinced he's actually criminally insane.

I have to go against you and stick up for Blatter here. I don't think he's insane. I will concede to you on corrupt, arrogant and criminal however.

There is that famous line in Back To The Future when McFly has travelled back in time and meets the professor building a time travelling car.  "So who is president in 1985?" the professor asks.  McFly replies "Ronald Reagan" at which the professor explodes with laughter and says "and who is Vice President, Jerry Lewis?"

Can you imagine if they found Lord Lucan still alive after hiding in Old Mother Shipton's cave for forty years and he asked who is running football and you had to tell him a bent swiss travel agent, an opera singer, an eighty eight year old german born american diplomat and Johann Cruyff, he would think you were taking the piss.   His response would be "and where are they holding the World Cup - Qatar?"
