Match day parking
« on: August 24, 2010, 10:22:38 AM »
Haven't posted much on the forums, but I'd like to appeal for your help here. I have recently passed my driving test  ;D

Normally I persuade my Dad to give me a lift to Villa Park, or stay over my grandparents and nick a lift with them. If push comes to shove I'd take the bus, but point is they'd only ever have to park up for a little while to pick me up or drop me off.

Now I plan on driving myself but I really don't fancy paying the £5 or whatever it is to park at Villa park, or any of the "car parks" that charge £5 and let you park there for the game.

So what I'm asking is there any where I could safely park my car, and not get myself clamped or get a ticket? I'd be approaching Villa Park coming down Marsh Hill, Brookval Road, Witton Road; that direction.

Any help would be appreciated, and I don't mind a bit of a walk. When I get picked up it's usually form under that M6 flyover near that warehouse (I think on Brookvale Road). I've seen other people parked there, but I've also seen signs up syaing not to, so am I alright to park there, or would I be taking a gamble of getting a ticket. Anywhere else I could park if not there?

Thank you in advance. Any help at all would be much appreciated.

I haven't got a clue matey, but I always pay a fiver in the carpark next to the posh Aston Social.

I think you ought to get to the game early to get a decent space on the streets near the ground though - then spend yer fiver on some washing up liquid in a Fosters / Heineken bottle when you get to the ground !

Try around Holford Industrial Estate

All double yellow lines. Somewhere near to the Yew Tree pub should suffice.

Thanks everyone, yeah it's looking like my best bet is to get there as early as possible to get a space.
