Problems seeing H&V at home
« on: July 08, 2010, 08:02:26 AM »
I'm in a position where I can access H&V at any point during the day from work using IE7.

The problems occur when I get home and start using Firefox. Usually, what happens is I select this site from my Bookmarks and I get the homepage, then I navigate to a forum, then when I select a topic my request times out and stays timed out. If I try searching this site from Google and linking that way it stays unreachable.

Clearing my cookies just takes me back to being able to see the homepage if I'm lucky, but the problem re-occurs in a few clicks. The rest of my internet use is unaffected

What am I doing wrong?

This is still an issue for me. Same thing happened again last night. Any assistance from the techies would be appreciated.

Try clearing cache/history as well, failing that use something like ccleaner.

This is an issue for me at the moment too.  I've cleared the cookies and the cache but every click through times out at least once before I can actually reach the page I was after.

Tried clearing everything - no luck.

Also tried running CCleaner but that doesn't seem to have worked. I get about five clicks maximum, then all I get is a blank page. I'm not even confident I'll be able to post this.

Try flushing your dns cache.

From a Command window, type:

ipconfig /flushdns

Oddly enough it now seems to be working. I've not needed to flush the DNS.

Thanks for the replies.

Not sure if this is the right place but on my work laptop when I reply to a quote I can't view the reply box in full. Actually as I type this in the Quick reply box it cuts out at 'type' and I see the text again on the second line at 'Quick'. Any ideas why?
