My main point is we need changes we need to freshen up the squad, this group of players have run their course.

We’d need to be careful and avoid change for changes sake.  Take Liverpool, win the league, cherry pick the best from the rest, and become a worse team.  …Or Chelsea generally.  Pretty sure I’ve seen data boffins also making the link that too many transfers/big transfer are detrimental (I’ll have a quick google but doubt I’ll find anything).

Chance to win tickets

Thanks a lot, less chance of me winning now ☹️

I've forwarded it on to a couple of people as well, so you've got even less chance now. Sorry.
And I've just had a go!
No point anyone entering or sharing this further, as I know I'm winning this.

Thanks for your cooperation in this matter. ;)

Just been sent my ticket that I purchased on ticombo, all very straight forward and it looks like I’m near the allocation for Villa

From the few times I’ve seen him Femi Azeez  of Milwall looks pretty decent, 24, two footed a wide midfielder and I doubt he would cost a lot. I’d prefer him to Wilson.

To satisfy my own curiosity I’ve looked at the Championship Teams of the Year to see how the players develop.  I’ve concluded we could do worse than just hoovering selected targets each summer.

2020/21 - Olise / Buendia / Toney
2021/22 - Solanke / Antonee Robinson / Spence
2022/23 - Gyokeres / Maatsen / Ndiaye / Alex Scott
2023/24 - Summerville / Wilson / Whitakker
2024/25 - Trafford / Bellingham / Esteve / `Egan Riley
2025/26 - Azeez / Hackney

Give them the right amount of sunlight and water regularly… a solid conveyor belt of future talent.

Oh go on then...

Yeah thought it might be bigger. But still a pretty mysteriously chunky gap.

They’re not corrupt, more likely there’s a competence issue.

I think their job has become insanely hard and they get the kind of scrutiny that would reduce most people to gibbering wrecks.

Which is not to say they don't make some frankly bizarre decisions, but let's be honest, we fans are incredibly harsh on them. It's part of the fun.

Maybe but, if it's so difficult, use the resources you have better.

Don't use VAR to cover up errors by the on-filed official to only have to backtrack and issue an apology the next day. Or don't spend a season arguing that you're letting more go for corners and then give a foul in favour of the team that's spent the entire season benefitting from it.

Most of the complaints about refs come down to "in this game the decision was x but in the previous match something very similar happened and it was y", that's in their control to be better with and if the pressure on the on-field ref is in any way the reason for it then the solution should be for VAR to take the emotion and pressure away.

I just noticed the match ticket is valid for free public transport in the greater Istanbul area from 20th May 00.00 to 21st May 06.00.

VAR provides a second layer of unconscious bias than the previous one with just a ref.
