Looking up old cars is something of pointless past time of mine. Quite surprised when I saw this:

'Former Aston Villa manager' Doug Ellis had expensive taste!
-
His Roller is still out there.
Taxed and MOTed and being driven about 1000 miles a year.

Looks in immaculate condition but not €32k immaculate!

I know someone who might be interested. How does it go in reverse...?

'Doug's Mercedes For Sale In Ireland' was the third album from African Car Reverser that reignited their career, stripping away the pop and disco sensibilities of the poor selling second album and going back to their garage roots.
-
Featuring the hits; BicycleKick, Package Holiday, My Stand, and Do You Know the Way to Ouagadougou (Come Home Bertie).
-
It's not "the" declan ganley, is it?
-
And the all time favourite, 'Like a son to me'.
-
Featuring the hits; BicycleKick, Package Holiday, My Stand, and Do You Know the Way to Ouagadougou (Come Home Bertie).
A cover of Father & Son by Cat Stevens, featuring guest appearances by Dwight Yorke, Paul McGrath and many more...

Ahhh memories, Doug’s Mercedes for sale in Ireland.
Featuring live versions of “fishing with jimmy” and “rose garden goodbyes”.
-
It might well be in mint condition but for €32K you'd want to be able to drive it through the city center. But I suppose if you like your Mercs and it is a vintage car of the yuppie era they'll get a few takers.

Purpose built Mercedes for former Aston Villa manager Doug Ellis.
He would of been as well, given half the chance.

Then having to have a conversation with himself while showing himself his own roses in the back garden.

Me and a mate were hitching back from Blackpool after a dismal defeat in the 1969-70 season that saw us going down from Division 2. We were getting a bit desperate about getting home and then an immaculate car pulled up to offer us a lift. None other than Doug and his missus in their Roller. He was good company on the drive home and spent as much time talking about the Villa as he did telling us his rags to riches story. It was a kind gesture...and the first time I'd been in a car with electric windows.
