Title: John Costello
Post by: joe_c on November 24, 2022, 01:42:11 PM
My dad John Costello died on Tuesday 22 November after a short illness.

It will be forever a source of regret that his last visit to Villa Park was tepid 0-1 defeat to West Ham but the good times will always remain.

The one to take with you is the Cup Final. Even if the result wasn稚 what we wanted, you値l always remember how much he loved going to Wembley with you x

Really sorry to hear that, Joe. My dad often brings up their meeting in the barton's when he was last over, he really enjoyed the chat. RIP John.

It's actually the semi final against Liverpool that I remember more fondly. He was undecided about going for some time, thought it would be too much effort at his age but we talked him round. At the final whistle, he grabbed my wrist and squeezed it and said "Thank you for bringing me!"

At the risk of repeating others, I'm sorry for your loss, Joe. From the sounds of it, your Dad was a great bloke, and I have no doubt that McGrath will smile upon him.
