Title: Memories of 2021-2022 season
Post by: wittonwarrior on July 03, 2022, 02:42:40 PM
Best Goal - has to be Bailey v Everton

Top away - I would say Leeds it just got better and better

Worst away - Performance Wolves/for ground and all round day West Ham

Best away boozer - yates in Southampton - pity the match was so poor

Worst individual performance - Bailey at Wolves or Mings at home v Wolves

Best feeling - winning away at Old Trafford

Biggest Scandal - disallowed goal in the cup at OT

Biggest Let Down - Match v Burnley cancelled so late - I was already by the social

Best shit-housing of the season: Emi telling Ronaldo, "YOU should take the penalty!" at Trafford Park.

The disgraceful five minute forensic examination of the Old Trafford goal still pisses me off. They were trying to find every and any reason to disallow it. If there's any doubt within a minute the referee has to give a goal. And it's not the first time we've been on the wrong end of some shockers.

The highlight might not mean much to most but watching Cameron Archer put three past Barrow on a lovely late summers night on the coast always stayed with me.

What a lovely late summers evening in Barrow that was.

It was so blatantly obvious that they wanted to disallow that goal, they would have gone as far back as the September game if they had too.

Even that game we had to win in spite of the ref. That fucking 'tackle' by Maguire on McGinn, when Dean didn't even give the free kick was unbelievable, not to mention the desperation to give them the penalty.

I would have chosen Leicester and perhaps Manure at home above the two you mentioned.  Palace, Norwich away were also decent.  Please no one mention Leicester away an awful game of football even if we did stop the rot.
