Interesting.

Us, not them. Nothing about them is interesting.

Like it.  Ings deservedly out, Buendia deservedly in.
Will Luiz be the base of the diamond?

Surprised as I'd have thought coutinhos strengths would have suited tonight and buendias strengths would have suited Sunday

Nakamba hasn't been back that long, perhaps they're just being cautious.

Looks like players are being rested for Sunday. Not because of SG's Liverpool connection, but because it's a Thursday/ Sunday turnaround.

Same.  That's why him starting is pretty exciting - we should hopefully get a decent view of him in a way you just don't get from a 15 minute cameo.

Good to see him get a chance tonight, but I don't understand his role?

Needs a full season in the Championship, like most young players do, to develop.

Honestly can't see any CL Premier League club coming in for him.

Was going to take something monumentally stupid from us for them to score. Both Buendia and Chucky have been guilty of giving away stupid free kicks already.

It might liven the game up. Despite all the possession, we haven't really looked like breaking down their back 5. Both our full backs have been disappointing in attacking areas. Chucky hasn't offered anything, Watkins lost aswell. Likely sub there with Ings coming in for Chucky.

Luiz, Chambers and McGinn our best three for me.

thought we were good for the first half hour - lost our way a bit after that

pently was stupid - but then the elbow was just as blatent.

They have been well organised - but I think when teams let us play - we struggle.  I still have a nagging thought that is because were too narrow agaisnt a back 3

Maybe Ings would be better watkins - who hasnt been in the game

I thought chuck was ok - looked a little nervous - and took the safe option, but dont think hes been that bad

Would be really disapointing if we losed but they are pretty nervous, but hopefully a reaction in the second half

We've been the better side but lacking a clinical edge in the final third. Watkins' touch a problem yet again and Chucky should not be on the pitch.

Bring on Coutinho for Chucky and play two 10's behind Watkins...and Watkins should get yanked after 15mins for Ings if he hasn't done anything by then.

This current midfield is so poor words can't describe. They never run into space, ever. When the ball is in possession with the defence the midfielders all remain static just waiting for the ball to be played inch perfect to their feet. 14th in the league is exactly where we should be.

It needs a complete overhaul.

Buendia was lucky enough not to give away a penalty before that for a push on Tarlowski. No idea what genius decided he should be marking Tarlowski at set piece time.

In fairness, he's one of our tallest players.

Sunday League move from Buendia.  Can't have any complaints though, they've been the better side and look more dangerous.

Couldn't care less if there's nothing riding in this for us.  We've been garbage.

Not sure what game you've been watching but Burnley haven't been the better side.

They look more dangerous up front.  We just seem to be prancing about in front of them - plays into their hands perfectly.

They've had no shots on target other than the penalty and 1 long ball over the top that caught us out.

Our build up is far too slow giving them plenty of time to organise, tired of seeing the ball being passed across our back line, we have no through ball, Only Ramsey seems to have any drive. Very poor so far.

I think all three of them are doing ok today. McGinn has had our only two shots on target. Id like to see Ramsey gambling the odd time and running in behind Watkins. We have no one running beyond Watkins and it's too easy for their back 5 to sit in.

Hope to see a change or two at half time. Burnley will park the bus completely now.

Or trying to get the best deal he can, while waiting to be convinced that he will be given a chance. Taking him off at half-time won't help. If we are in the stage if his contract where it is clear he isn't going to sign I'm all for fucking him off, but we aren't at that stage yet. I reckon he will sign before the start of next season. And if he doesn't... well tonight is still only an end of season kickabout, no big deal.

because the officials knew that if the ref saw the elbow it had to be a red card and giving that so early takes a lot more bottle than any of them have.

A soft yellow card after 55mins is much easier to give.

pope outstanding

I thought lowton was a little unlucky

barnes was massively lucky

thought we played pretty well - team lacks a bit of dynamicness (if thats a word)

Actually quited like PC playing a little deeper - PC was good - cant get away from the nagging feeling we play too narrow
