when: Sunday 15 May Kick off 2.00PM
Venue: Villa Park
Even when we are shit we beat Palace so I expect nothing else than a resounding victory.
-
Villa to win comfortably!
Zaha to get sent off!
-
0-2
-
Nothing less than a Coutinho hat-trick will do.
-
Can we have Coutinho and Buendia on the pitch together, pretty please? It's only a glorified friendly.
Also, don't get drawn in by any of Zaha's nonsense. Don't want players suspended for the important games next season.
-
2-1 Villa win.
-
Hopefully they are more on the beach than us. 2.1 Villa
-
Martinez
Cash Konsa Mings Digne
Nakamba
Luiz McGinn
Buendia Coutinho
Watkins

Konsa
Mings
Digne
Iroegbunam
Carney Chukwuemeka
Luiz
Buendia
Watkins
Coutinho
-
0-1
-
3-0 to us, don’t care who scores but I feel more confident about the club as whole then I have for many a year. Maybe Phil to get at least one of the 3
-
Benteke to come off the bench and get a second half perfect hat trick, Villa win 4-3.
-
I'm going to abandon my usual measured approach and just say that we will hammer the fuckers.
4-0
-
Coutinho to put on a masterclass.
2-0
-
Crystal Palace must be our most "meh" fixture of the entire season.
Home win.
-
5-0 home win.
-
win please Villa
UTV
The Doc
-
They’ve had a good season relatively and Zaha, Olise and Eze and Gallagher have some really good attacking players. Could be really drab and an end of season shackles of cracker.
With the Coutinhio boost im
Going for 4-2 Villa (Coutinhio (2), Ings, McGinn).
-
First saw us play Palace in the old 2nd division back in 1967.
Seen us play them loads of times. No great games, no stand out abysmal games either, no major incidents to recall. A few wins usually by a goal or two, a few draws, a few defeats here and there. Their teams usually play fairly attractive football but as usual our fixture with them will be completed in a routine manner with a routine win or an insignificant draw or a rather flat and underwhelming narrow defeat and we all move on to the next game.
-
Talk that Viera is going to blood some youngsters to give them a run out
-
Does anybody know if we're gonna give the Rotterdam lads a 40th anniversary VP heroes welcome on Sunday or at the Burnley match?
-

I hope Gerrard does the same.
Then can play full team v Burnley midweek.
-
Not that I particularly rate him but I'd give Chambers a go at CB instead of Konsa who is all over the place of late.
-
2-0 Villa
-
Going to this one, and optimistic for a 2-0 or a 3-1 win.
-
I want unto smash them.
Can we have archer on bench now loan ended?
-
Apparently we can’t.
-
Crystal Palace must be our most "meh" fixture of the entire season.
Home win.
I live in Croydon so it's not meh for me - so much so that we're having a family outing to B6 on Sunday. I know quite a few palace fans. Year 11 reckon a draw, I think I agree!
-
I'd go with:
Martinez
Cash
Konsa
Mings
Digne
Marv
Chuck
McGinn
Coutinho
Buendia
Watkins

3-0 Win Coutinho and Ings x2

Looks like the European Cup team will be honoured on the pitch on Sunday with flags also put in the seats (but no clappers).

Think Zaha might be the biggest wind-up shitebag in the League?

Oh don't quote that knob please.
-
Expecting a tight end to end game.
I think we’ll just have that little more magic than they will.
Fully expect Zaha to rip Mings apart, again.
-
It's still important to win this one, each place usually carries a decent slice of prize money. So a catch between experimenting and keeping momentum. A narrow competitive 2-0 for me, end to end as PTV Says.
-
Not sure why, but I reckon we’ll do Palace comfortably. 2-0
-
Good to see JJ is fit, hopefully Ollie will make it.
-

I remember when Gerrard said Digne was out for the season!
Seems opposite to Deano who would say JG is back next game!
Never know what to think on injury news!
-
Win are two remaining home games and there’s a good chance of finishing top Half even if it’s 10th it’s still top half
We haven’t done that for about 11 seasons so it would show I was going in the right direction
-
It’s going to be a very comfortable easy 3 nil win with our new signing shining brightly.
-
we'll twat them.

give the lad a break. It’s just a general statement about injuries that we probably all agree on.

Until the line-ups are announced it's a guessing game from the supporters' pov and not giving too much away to the opposition from the manager.

Villa 4 - 0 Villa (Southern franchise)

I’m in Streatham. We must meet up sometime.

Opta stats
Aston Villa won the reverse fixture against Crystal Palace 2-1 in November. They've not done the league double over the Eagles since 1980-81, a season they last won the top-flight title.
Crystal Palace have won just one of their nine Premier League away games against Aston Villa (D3 L5), winning 1-0 in December 2013. The Eagles have never scored more than once at Villa Park in the competition, failing to score on each of their last four visits.
Aston Villa have lost six of their seven Premier League games on a Sunday this season, including each of the last four in a row. The exception was a 2-1 home win against Leicester back in December.
Crystal Palace have won consecutive league games for just the second time this season, with the Eagles last winning more in a row between February and June 2020 (4).

I didn't know that Palace used to play in Claret and Blue until some point in the 70s...

I was told we gave them their colours.
-
A former Villa employee became their manager and chose their colours. Malcolm Allison had them change to red and (a darker) blue in the 70s, inspired by Barcelona. They played in all white, inspired by Real Madrid, for a couple of seasons in the sixties before going back to our colours.
-
They were set up in an attempt to create the Aston Villa of the south. Our assistant became their secretary.
-
It’s going to be a very comfortable easy 3 nil win with our new signings teeth shining brightly.
Fixed

Think Zaha might be the biggest wind-up shitebag in the League?
Balloono Fernandez?
-
Just got the match day guide email for the Palace game which states we face Norwich apparently
-
Why would you whip your mobile phone out during pens?

Very cool if you’re a goalkeeper
-
Presuming Phil C will get back in time for kick off after just performing for the Romania at the Eurovision?
-

Balloono Fernandez?
That's a close call.
-
Mings to have his usual shambles against Zaha (the moaning prick)
-
Good luck to whoever is on match thread duty tomorrow. I’ll be hoping Villa don’t fuck up my round of golf.
-
Supporters asked to be in their seats early for a flag celebration of the 1982 squad.

Ha! Being a donut and posting on the wrong thread alert.
Just noticed Chelsea fans doing it during the shootout yesterday.
3-0 Villa btw.
-
Hoping our new permanent signing will inspire a rousing 3-0 win...🤞

Hang on you would rather spend an afternoon looking for a little white ball in woods surrounding a long length of well mowed grass than manage out match thread? Tut tut...

Fact. As Rafa Benitez might say
-
out the house at 8.30 this morning. 9.50 and 10:49 trains cancelled from euston, headed back home as I can’t be arsed with the effort for this dull affair.

Why did you bother in the first place if you thought it was going to be dull?

Having worked on a golf course it is amazing how all the shit golfers ( and that's about 90% of golfers) always blame the greenkeepers for their shit score cards.
