Can we have Coutinho and Buendia on the pitch together, pretty please? It's only a glorified friendly.

Also, don't get drawn in by any of Zaha's nonsense. Don't want players suspended for the important games next season.

They’ve had a good season relatively and Zaha, Olise and Eze and Gallagher have some really good attacking players. Could be really drab and an end of season shackles of cracker.

With the Coutinhio boost im
Going for 4-2 Villa (Coutinhio (2), Ings, McGinn).

First saw us play Palace in the old 2nd division back in 1967.
Seen us play them loads of times. No great games, no stand out abysmal games either, no major incidents to recall. A few wins usually by a goal or two, a few draws, a few defeats here and there. Their teams usually play fairly attractive football but as usual our fixture with them will be completed in a routine manner with a routine win or an insignificant draw or a rather flat and underwhelming narrow defeat and we all move on to the next game.

I live in Croydon so it's not meh for me - so much so that we're having a family outing to B6 on Sunday. I know quite a few palace fans. Year 11 reckon a draw, I think I agree!

Fully expect Zaha to rip Mings apart, again.

It's still important to win this one, each place usually carries a decent slice of prize money. So a catch between experimenting and keeping momentum. A narrow competitive 2-0 for me, end to end as PTV Says.

Until the line-ups are announced it's a guessing game from the supporters' pov and not giving too much away to the opposition from the manager.

Opta stats

Aston Villa won the reverse fixture against Crystal Palace 2-1 in November. They've not done the league double over the Eagles since 1980-81, a season they last won the top-flight title.

Crystal Palace have won just one of their nine Premier League away games against Aston Villa (D3 L5), winning 1-0 in December 2013. The Eagles have never scored more than once at Villa Park in the competition, failing to score on each of their last four visits.

Aston Villa have lost six of their seven Premier League games on a Sunday this season, including each of the last four in a row. The exception was a 2-1 home win against Leicester back in December.

Crystal Palace have won consecutive league games for just the second time this season, with the Eagles last winning more in a row between February and June 2020 (4).

A former Villa employee became their manager and chose their colours. Malcolm Allison had them change to red and (a darker) blue in the 70s, inspired by Barcelona. They played in all white, inspired by Real Madrid, for a couple of seasons in the sixties before going back to our colours.
