Title: GUESS THE CROWD 21/22 Rules, Divisions and bonuses! 🥧

Hello again, everybody!

We’re back!!
And this time, we have .... masks! (Oooooh)

Priorities beckon for all GTC team managers.

It’s halfway through the season so you may have players isolating, resting hammies, well en route to recovery in the gym or enjoying a deep muscle massage / face pack.

You may need more chalk for your inspiring tactical talks.

You may have a coach that you haven’t a clue what exactly it is that they do, but that’s normal in Guess The Crowd 👍

If you're new to this:

The idea in every round is to guess what you think the official attendance figure will be, for that match. I post the total attendance that AVFC releases to the press at the end of the match on the Guess thread and award points according to how close you are to the total.

GTC is played for every home game and all home Cup games.

Usual rules apply again

These are:

1. One guess only in a round, per team.

Accidentally posting a second guess will not get you more points as only your first guess is counted.

2. No editing of your post.
Editing means you get only 1 point that round.

3. You must post your guess before Kick Off.

POINTS!!!

What could you get?

11 Points for a Brucie Bonus - which is for a spot- on dead accurate guess, usually early on in the week - check the BB interval in my launch post of the round to win this. ;)

10 points. For a spot- on accurate guess posted after the BB interval.

9 points. For a guess up to 10 away from the official attendance total.

And then...
8. For a guess up to 50 away
7. For a guess up to 100 away
6. For a guess up to 200 away
5. For a guess up to 300 away
4. For a guess up to 400 away
3. For a guess up to 500 away
2. For a guess up to 1000 away
1. For entering that round! :)

And!!!

This season we are continuing DEANO’s DOUBLE DIVIDEND, now called Gerrard’s Golden Goals!
Whatever the Villa goal tally is, the teams getting that number of points in that round get DOUBLE POINTS!

GTC rounds are posted before a home league match and a home Cup match.

Check the launch post for the time of kick off.

Careful...

If a team has not posted a guess in 4 consecutive League GTC rounds NOW COUNTING FROM ROUND 3 so get your guesses in for R 6!, the team will be moved with their points so far, straight to Division 5. Guessing again will revive the team to Division 4!

Once there's a space in any Division, the top ranking team in the Division below is promoted immediately to fill it!

You can join in on any round in the season. Keep your team active and you’ll get promoted, as soon as possible.

It’s never too late to join in and Guess The Crowd!!!

Rotterdam 82 is now top of D1, as positions there have been adjusted after I was asked to check Round 2 results and found that I had accidentally left out R82’s 5 points; so sorry! Thanks for letting me know!

Hello, everyone, there’s a couple of weeks grace before the next Guess The Crowd fixture (VILLA v Arsenal, 19th March) so I just wanted to remind anyone who hasn’t revived their team yet, that we are playing Guess The Crowd 🥧 and that you need to Guess to keep your team where it is!

I know we haven’t played this for 2 years and I know that some players are not posting on H&V at the moment. That happens; I hope it’s because they’re taking a break and will be back to say hello again, soon.

I am about to post the latest Divisions. I was going to reorder everybody, but I really do not want to lose you unless you don’t choose to play Guess The Crowd at this time - and that’s fine! It’s just that if you are in Divisions 1, 2 and 3, it took you some time to get there.

I invite everyone who may not have revived a team that has been, er, a sleeping giant for some time, to Guess in Round 6 when it is launched at the end of next week, after West Ham v Villa next Sunday. As always, it’s never too late to Guess The Crowd!

In case you were wondering,

Division 1 teams think, ‘Oooh, I’m in Division 1,’ in a zen-like exalted state of being, with unlimited crisp and sausage* sandwiches; but hey, wouldn’t you?)

However, 2 of you got to Division 1 within a season, last time we played GTC!! 👍
