2-2 for me. FTF!
-
I've gone for a draw too, think Stevie G will set the team up to get a result.
-
We'll compete but ultimately come up short but it will be no disgrace. I shall be avoiding any sort of coverage until the match actually kicks off. I know what the media will do and I'm not interested.

2-0.
-
The players won’t want to lose for the manager. Outwardly Gerrard will play this down all week but inside he will be impacted by the occasion and the reception he will receive. But he will want to win this game badly. Liverpool are absolutely superb and as much as I would love to see us take the points the best we can hope for is a draw. So optimistically I’ll go 1-1. SJM for us.
-
Why is the best that we can hope for a draw?
Reminder that they lost three home games in a row last season, six in total and four without scoring a goal, including losses to Burnley and Brighton, and Fulham who got relegated.
Of course we can beat them.
I'm not saying we definitely will, but it's doable.
2-1 Villa, FTF!
-
It will be nice to wipe the smile off Bingo's face if we do win.
-
'The Mighty Reds YNWA' 3 Villa 0
-

I'm going for a win, Danny I on a big emotional return to Anfield will get the winner.
-
YNWA FC 2 - 7 AVFC. Standard.
-
Cheeky win.
-
The Mighty Reds YNWA 1-5 The Villa
Konsa o.g. --- Watkins (1), McGinn (1), Konsa (2), Buendia (1)
-
1 - 0. Watkins in 95th minute. Gerrard to kneeslide in front of the Kop.
-
We scored 5 and 7 against them, so split the difference and say Villa 6 Liverpool <6.
-
3-0
-
I think every one will be up for this one for obvious reasons. 1-1 I think

2-2

And then we came to town.......

a clean sheet please Villa...
UTV
The Doc
-
We'll concede most of the possession first half, yet if we can weather the early storm I still believe we've got enough about us to win one half and come away with something. 1-2 us, Ballon d'Or committee left wondering how they overlooked McGinn.
-
This game will be won or lost by the full backs and their full backs are much better than ours.
-
A draw is achievable if everyone is on their A game, and SG's team seem better able to bring the players' A game out (we probably need Targett's defensive qualities at LB).
-
We'll go behind but win with goals from Garry Parker and Dean Saunders.
-

Dean Sanders !!!
-
We'll give them a game and I think we'll score but...
3-1 Liverpool
-

One of the great away days for me that one, I was 16 and sat next to two pissed up Irish lads that kept giving me swigs on their hip flasks.
-
1-2 96th minute goal from Marvelous wins it for us.
-
I have a feeling we might win this.
-
I will have radio silence from tomorrow until just before the game. I don't think I could take the pro-Liverpool build-up.
Oh go on then, a 1-1 draw! John McGinn or Ollie to "silence the Kop", as they say..

Plus they are in pretty frightening form at the moment. Only blunted by Brighton lately.

2-1 Villa, FTF!
That was last season, they are much better this season. For me there the team to beat for the title, however, maybe Christmas is in the air and i had to much to drink last night, with a bit of Gerrard factor mixed in. I fancy us, 3-2 (Ollie (2), Beundia).
-
We battered them at home and gave them a game when we were in poor form at their place.
We have a bit of a psychological edge on them unlike most of the usual suspects, and Watkins has 4 in 2 games against them.
We've got to use that to our advantage.

Ergo, we'll win. Ickso fatso.

They're in very good form, but so are we. After seeing the second half of the Man City game I'm sure they will NOT be looking forward to playing us, so it's absolutely crucial that we don't give them an easy time in the first 20-25 mins.
The good news is, given Gerrard's time on Klopp's coaching staff, that we will never have a manager better prepared to take them on tactically. It will be interesting to see if he tweaks our set-up, or whether it's more of a "this is how my Aston Villa teams play" situation.
Right now, I'd snap your hand off for a point and keeping our momentum.

This for me also
We cannot allow them to score early - we certainly need a fit Targett on his game against Salah as i fear he would rip Young a new arsehole
-
I'm looking forward to going to this I reckon 1-1 draw.
-
4.1 to they

Yes we need to get into them from the off.

We've been lucky playing starting slowly against average sides. You can start slowly and not be punished or lose the game. But vs Man City we went 2-0 down and if do it again vs Liverpool it will be exactly the same and the game over. That has to the critical message this weekend.
-
I've just been watching the highlights of the Benteke backheel game. Bit slower then, weren't it. It's like watching a pre-training warm-up.
-
In Newquay for this one.
Don’t suppose anyone knows of a pub there that shows 3pm KOs?
-
We will lose 2-1 - probably to a last minute Salah wonder goal

I’ve often just taken my iPad with me when I’ve been away, and just tried to find a dodgy stream in a pub with decent wifi.

Anything from this and we will go into next week's fixtures on the up and hopefully take 6 points from them. This is not a free swing.
-
I am to be dragged into town for Christmas shopping >:( but on the proviso that if the match is on anywhere we can take a break and watch it
Please help
-
End to end, great game and 2-2. Marvelous mom. Take it to the bank.
-
We'll be largely competitive but still come away with a 3-1 loss I reckon. They have a much better team so no shame in that.
-
If we allow them to start anything like Man City and Leicester, I don't think they'll be anywhere as near as profligate with their chances. Our only chance it to be at them 100% from the first minute. If we start slowly they'll be out of sight and FPL players will be rubbing their hands at another Salah haul.

Aye they are on fire at the moment, if we get anything out of this game it will be a bonus.
-
If we start slow against these lot , we will be 3 down after 20 mins . we need to be on the front foot from the first minute , Im sure we will be .
1-2 Villa . . buendia and Ings late winner
-
2-7

Shame we couldn't have had the Norwich and Burnley games before this one tomorrow. We're on a high after the Leicester game and 4/6 points out of Norwich and Burnley would have set us up nicely to go into tougher fixtures.
Oh well, that's how the fixtures fall I suppose and I still think we could be looking at 4-6 points out of those forthcoming games no matter what happens tomorrow.

Very nice TonyD. Hope you have a bit of decent weather while you are there.

Pundits all around have been predicting a 4-1 or 4-0 defeat for us as apparently Liverpool are unplayable.

Blose are so right in talking about our rich upper crust support. So jealous me.

That's nothing, Risso recently celebrated his 50th on Necker Island.

1-2 Villa, enjoy today, with the way covid is taking off again we may be back to restricted crowds
-
I've a feeling we might get a mention on football focus.

Our game is getting mentioned, but we might as well not be there so far.

Pundits all around have been predicting a 4-1 or 4-0 defeat for us as apparently Liverpool are unplayable.
They drew 2-2 at home to Brighton about three weeks ago.
That said I think 3-1 defeat is about right but we do match up better against them than say Man. City. Even in 19/20 they only beat us late on twice when we were pretty poor.
Ollie always plays well v them aswell.
-
I'm expecting a narrow defeat but with plenty of positives.
-
Jota and Firmino doubtful, could do with Salah picking up an injury in the warm up!
-
Lawrenson suggesting on Football Focus that the only chance we have today is if Gerrard plays for us. Twat.

why the wheel him out
-
I’m fairly certain we’ll lose. But hopefully we give a good account of ourselves.
-
Expecting a heavy defeat but a free hit. As long as we dont just show no cowardly performance im.happy.
I would have gone a bit weaker and save the big boys for Norwich are a more winnable game
-

The irony in those two sentences.

Trez on the bench!!
Welcome back trez.
Buendia benched young starts with targett

We lost heavy at Chelsea but it wasnt a cowardly performance
