Title: Clickbait Annoyance Part 346.
Post by: kippaxvilla2 on December 03, 2021, 12:37:22 PM
Yes I know, I don't know why I do it.....

Meaning Evil.

'Carney Chukwuemeka breaks silence as Steven Gerrard comments on Aston Villa contract'.

This was him breaking his silence.

Chukwuemeka uploaded a post to Instagram after the City game, writing: "Wasn’t meant to be. God's timing. We go again."

There are usual suspects that I spot now.  Such as;

'Pundit Makes Dramatic Statement and Aston Villa Fans Are All Saying the Same Thing'.  Actual story, Alan Hutton commenting 'Trezeguet (insert as required) will be desperate to get back from injury.'  Followed by fans disagreeing with each other so not the same thing at all.

They are masters of the clickbait headline. Having been burned and subsequently disappointed in myself too many times to recall, I never, ever click their links now.

There's a weird brand of clickbait I've noticed recently that obsesses over player height and build.

Every single headline is 'Leicester/Arsenal/Celtic/whoever fans call for boss to unleash 6ft4 'beast'' or 'Arteta/Pep/Klopp considering calling on 19 year old 'man mountain''.

I presume it's all from the same place but I don't understand it at all.
