Yeah was disappointed when I saw the three at the back again, but that's an attacking midfield with two up front so let's see.

it may be one up front with Watkins left wing and Buendia right wing

I think Luiz should of been rested with Nakamba coming in.

Hoping for big game from Buendia and to see Sanson

And an impressive win

Strange selection, going with only 2 in midfield. We might struggle there. Harsh on Hause but Tuanzebe should be a lot better on the ball.

Hm, could be a 3-4-1-2, like Serie A in the 90s. If so I fully expect James Richardson to present the coverage with a pink newspaper and a massive ice cream.

No real shock with that team. Feels like the time to give Ramsey a rest for a few weeks given he's dipped a bit and Axel was always going to come back.

Interesting Doug starts. Surely no way he'll last 90 minutes so think I'd rather have had him on the bench given how game will likely pan out.

Think Buendia will drop properly into CM when out of possesion. Otherwise yes asking hell of a lot of ground for McGinn and Luiz to cover considering they've been round the world and back over last two weeks. That could be a weak point for us.

Yeah, but why was Axel always going to come back? What's Hause done wrong? This thing that Axel is some sort of Beckenbauer with the ball, I don't buy.

I love Hause but he was uncomfortable v Spurs. Son made him proper lower league for the winner with ease he went past him to get the cross in.

So yes these are standards we need if we're going to head towards top 6 eventually. Likes of Hause and Ramsey dip a bit and so go out of the team given we have good squad depth now.

Dosen't mean they can't come back into team later on in the season and do a good job for us.

Perhaps we'll see Hause today as sub if we're 1 up with 15 minutes left and they put on Jimenez. Perhaps push Axel into DM if Luiz flags around that time.

Hopefully Sanson gets a run today. Might get 20-30 mins when Dougie gets a rest.

Yeah that's a good option. Sanson hadn't played six months and was thrown in v Chelsea and did more than o.k.

When everyone is fully fit we're going to have a really really good bench full of good options either to see out a game we're winning or if it's poised at 1-1. Hopefully we won't have to wait until May to see it.

Of course it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that Dean has picked a back three to deal with the dingles and specifically Adama,  as AT is quicker than KH?

We're great down the right with Cash and Buendia, down the left Mings and Targett, who couldn't cross the road, are creating nothing other than giving the ball back. We need Bailey back asap.

Been critical of him so far but Buendia been class, finding those pockets of space very nicely.

For us, Buendia has been terrific, really clever and subtle.

For them, Traoré, has there ever been a player so good at one thing and so naff at everything else?

System-wise - hard to judge, but one thing I will say is a danger of wingback systems is that they tend to have chances fall to them, and as we saw a bit with Cash today and definitely with Targett at Old Trafford that can be sub-optimal.

Well that was shit.

Seemed unable to keep the ball.  I think there is a lack of leadership in the team when we need it.

Not sure how its Dean's fault. The players out there were perfectly good enough to see that out.

I don't think any of the substitutions worked out so it seems fair Smith takes his share of the blame for this debacle.

Still not Deans Smith's fault. Two of them were logical decisions and the third was enforced.

We are back to being useless at defending ...Mings was mostly a shambles all game on the ball and his nervousness effected the rest of them

The subs didn't work , we were losing the ability to keep on the ball in MF he needed to take off a striker .We still play far too direct at times we constant long balls out to the wide area's , it works sometimes with Olly but we give away more possession then we retain
