Neither. It isn't on telly, it has been brought forward to avoid a clash with a concert at the cricket ground. I'd imagine there will be streams.

I feel like the early games are normally 1245 but notice that the televised match is also a 1230 start, so either it has changed recently or I've got mixed up as usual.

Maybe a good thing it isn’t televised.
You know what happens, we wil be treated as cannon fodder In the pre wank match show, will perform better than expected, characterised as the plucky underdog give them a game but will ultimately get shafted, patronised and put in our place as a total irrelevance to the Sky order of things.

The title of this thread says it all.
Totally sick of dodgy pens and other invented crap on behalf of the refs against us up there.
So think we will put on another good performance like last night at Chelski in the cup but ultimately get fucked over somehow.
2-1 to them.

We win here roughly once every 30 years so I don't think our time has rolled around again yet. A draw would be a fantastic result (unless it involves blowing a two goal lead)

They’ve had a couple of penalty appeals go against them in their last2 games so, expect the ref to make up for that against us.

This has all the hallmarks of another good performance/brave defeat unfortunately even before you factor in any poor officiating.
We need to convert our approach to points and I think we will, given time but maybe Sat is too soon. I'll be optimistic though.

Mings will be considered shit, Ings and Watkins can't play together, not sure what Buendia adds to the team, Targett hasn't recaptured his form from last season and Smith is shit.

Konsa did well, and if only Bailey had been fit. Archer was unlucky with his chance.

Dean is a cockspanner, Ronaldo a twat, and Pigba a cheat.

There, that's the after match summary done.

What about, I am really glad that we didnt make any substitutions even though both Mings hamstrings had gone and Konsa had to push him around the penalty area on a skateboard.
Nice touch from  Mike Dean though to celebrate their third goal by running to the Stretford End bear chested and throwing his shirt into the crowd.

Yes, but at least the PL came out two days after the Fernandes one and said they got it wrong.
Which obviously made everyone feel a lot better about being cheated.

A scab 6 team with miserable barstool Fergie still pulling the strings of the officials in the stands ably abeited by var and the obligatory penalty (or two) all to massage the egos of the man Urinals makes this one of the least attractive fixtures of the season for me.
Good luck AVFC we're going to need it!

I hate this fixture at Villa Park more than any other game. Away it feels par for the course to lose there (most teams historically do) and hurts far less, plus it's nearly always the home fixture that features

a) undeserved late comebacks
b) a winner / equaliser in injury time
c) dodgy decisions

Though last time at Old Trafford there was a dodgy pen, of course.

Zzzzzzzzzzz.

Main tactic of this must be to tell Luiz to stay the feck away from Pogba as soon as he gets 20 yards from goal.

I'd also start Hause and keep the back 3. May not work but Ronaldo so powerful in the air so why wouldn't you want another good aerial CB especially as he did well v Lukaku last night who's pretty good these days himself.

A boring 3-1 defeat as usual v these I'm sure.

We have had two good performances in Old Trafford the past two seasons. To be honest Grealish was unplayable both days but United can be easy to play against with their unbalanced midfield. I think we are well capable of getting a result and confidence should be high in the group following a very good performance last night. Definitely wouldn't be going overly defensive and we need to have three in midfield, so a hard decision on Ings v Watkins unless Watkins goes on left. Are we expecting McGinn, Sanson and Bailey to be out injured?

If so...
-----------Martinez
Cash, Konsa, Mings, Targett
Luiz, Nakamba, Ramsey
Traore, Watkins, Buendia/AEG

I'm sick of this bollocks, and it ends here. 3 wins in 52 in the PL era is beyond a joke. 4 in 53 frankly won't be a whole lot better, but it's a step in the right direction.

We go two up within the hour, they pull one back, then, despite the best efforts of all involved in the manyoo cause, we break away to snatch a third, and I spend the next week slightly drunk.

I see we’re doing the okie kokie again with our injuries for Saturday’s match. Bailey and Sansom out. Predicted return dates by me are Bailey for another 20 minutes cameo in around March 2022 and Sansom may not come back until his contract expires.
The alternative is, send them both to Man City and they will both be ready to play this weekend. A man we once knew with perpetual Shinsplints problems seems to have had no reoccurrence since his move.

Was very impressed with our defence against Chelsea. Hause didn’t look like a 3rd choice centre back and Tuanzebe more than held his own. I suppose we have to overlook the fact that Werner sneaked in between the centre backs for the goal a bit, but Villa looked pretty solid at the back. I was thinking day before the game Werner would probably score because of our established charitable approach to strikers who really need a goal. Well we went to ‘the bridge’ and went one better than last time, so really hope we go up there and do an absolute smash and grab. We’ve got the players now where it’s not just pick your best, fit, first eleven and hope for the best.

Yes we’ll more than likely lose, but if that does happen, hopefully it will be down to the the ref being shit/ biased as usual than us getting twatted by a better side. This Villa squad team is really looking like it is developing into something a bit special.

Almost be tempted to play as many of the youngsters as we can. Someone said Buendia is looking like the academy player trying to break through and the kids all look like they belong. I mostly agree. Not writing Buendia off at all, I just think the young players have developed a lot quicker than we may have hoped or really expected at this point.

I hate the red filth and this fixture is my most hated one of every season. As lots have said before, we know exactly what will happen and whoever the referee is they'll still give a dodgy penalty because Ronaldo's histrionics will prevail.

Four wins there in the last 91 years.
A sprinkling of draws in there but the rest we either lay down and died, were just crap at the time anyway, couldn't see out the 90 mins plus fergie time, or quite often they have cheated.

Dec 2009   Won 1-0    Agbonlahor
Nov 1983   Won 2-1    Withe(2)
Dec 1954   Won 1-0    Dixon
Aug 1930   Won 4-3    Pongo all 4

I hate that poisonous lot and the circus that surrounds them with a passion that borders on psychotic. When I watched that BBC/MUTV documentary about the first Premier League season even Mrs. VV got fed up with me shouting c**ts at the telly every 30 seconds and turned it off "before you have a heart attack or the neighbours call the police" she said. Anyway, to the subject in hand: 1-1 Lochead to put us 1-0 nil up Kidd with the equaliser.

My first ever away game was up there in Jan '83 when we lost 3-1. I was 12 and in the Stretford End with my 'Brummie Red' older cousin. My main memory is jumping up and cheering when Cowans scored a penalty and my none too happy cousin complaining I was going to get us 'killed'. :)

Genuinely lost a level of optimism with Bailey out. Thought he was going to either keep Wan-Bissaka cowering in his own half or attack the acres left behind Luke Shaw. Feel like that's a big weapon we've lost there.

Watkins and Ings combo working to counter the threat of Man Utd attack.
No Tuanzebe so maybe no 3 at the back or do we have Hause or Targett to come in?
Young wing back ?

I think we will give them a good game, but ultimately they will have too much for us. With Leon out and Emi not quite there yet, we may just lack that cutting edge and creativity.

Whatever happens, I hope our fans make it as uncomfortable for Ronaldo as possible. The Der Spiegel (https://www.spiegel.de/international/europe/cristiano-ronaldo-new-documents-emerge-in-rape-allegations-a-1241349.html (https://www.spiegel.de/international/europe/cristiano-ronaldo-new-documents-emerge-in-rape-allegations-a-1241349.html)) article from a few years ago is quite shocking, and the fact that this never gets mentioned by the press, who instead laud him as some superhuman, is particularly distasteful. Apologies for bringing this up off topic.

Anyway, I really hope we beat them. For so many reasons.

Oh and an unlikely 3-3 scoreline from me.

Also Jones Knows is a stupid name.

I don't see what the problem is with that to be honest. We're all saying the same thing anyway.

I really do dislike him and them:

Klopp is right and we all know it. If I am not mistaken, in the time period Manure have had their last 40 penos, Liverpool have had 22.

Absolutely staggering hypocrisy from a horrible club.

Death

Losing to Man U.

Just have to stop lunging in really.

Luiz was very unlucky with the Old Trafford one but only have to see reaction from likes of Konsa when he kept on nibbling at Pogba in the VP game and eventually he goes down so own worst enemy in that situation.

Nothing much you can do if ball gets smashed from 5 yards and hits the hand, get the feeling that's the sort Dean will give tomorrow especially if it's second half and they're not winning even though not many of those have this season.

I would say on Dean, he's an attention seeker for sure but can't remember him f***ing us over as much as other refs in the past so may get a pleasant surprise from him, you never know.

At least it's not that joke one who sent off Ollie for diving when he was taken out which was ridiculous and certainly wouldn't happen if Man. United player was in that position.

We win here roughly once every 30 years so I don't think our time has rolled around again yet. A draw would be a fantastic result (unless it involves blowing a two goal lead)

Four wins there in the last 91 years.
A sprinkling of draws in there but the rest we either lay down and died, were just crap at the time anyway, couldn't see out the 90 mins plus fergie time, or quite often they have cheated.

Dec 2009   Won 1-0    Agbonlahor
Nov 1983   Won 2-1    Withe(2)
Dec 1954   Won 1-0    Dixon
Aug 1930   Won 4-3    Pongo all 4

I went in 1983.
Remember thinking OT wasn’t all that and the Stretford End looked nothing as big the Holte.
We had quite a few fans there not just the standing section they crammed us in.  Most of the seats above seemed to be Villa.
The traffic back was awful.  Pretty much stop start through Manchester and on the M6.  Think it was bonfire night and the motorway was covered in smoke most of the way.

One for the oldies, and, more than likely, Dave W.

Someone on another forum has said that the term ‘ManUre’, for Man Utd, derives from supporters mocking the victims of Munich. As in ‘your players are manure, rotting in the ground’
He went on to say West Brom fans sang it about Duncan Edwards.

I’ve never heard that before, and I’m in my 60’s, so I’m guessing it’s probably BS, but before I call him out on it I thought I’d ask on here.
Anyone sheds any light on how true this is.

I first heard that back around 2007 when I mentioned Man Yoo and got a "scolding"  from a Crawley Red that I worked with at the time.  I imagine it's only the serious die hards that get worked up about it or are aware of it as you encounter lots of their non attending supporters that refer to themselves as.following Man "U".
