For those like me who thought Brian Little walked on water, you might be interested in his new book about to be released "Brian Little My Aston Villa Over 50 years of Claret and Blue Memories". Can be ordered from https://www.officialbrianlittle.com/

I love Brian little but think it’s far too soon to bring out a second book. Get back in the queue
-
Did he already do his memoir recently? Anything interesting would arguably have been in that. He's also been interviewed extensively on Villa podcasts. A great man but never strikes me as the best raconteur.
-
I think a lot of the chapters in this book are written by other people giving their view on Brian.

I'm sure he had one before that aswell.

I've got two Brian books. Return of the Little Villan from about 1996 and A Little is Enough which must have only come out about three years or so. That one is signed though so I will treasure that forever.

Yes I got it and it was basically his whole career covered in good detail so not sure what more can be said but will have a flick through when it comes out and see if there's any new content.
Edit: Perhaps he'll devote a chapter to the upstairs role he now has behind the scenes.

Ron Atkinson did two and his first one was superior by far. Big Ron A Different Ball Game. I think the second one was simply called The Manager.
-
I have an Andy Gray autobiography called Shades of Gray. I believe he's had another autobiography out since then.

I've got the other one signed, and also treasured.

Hope it stops there and he doesn't do another 48.

I notice Julian Joachim has got one out soon. I'm waiting for a.Dean Saunders book, that can't be too far away and could include.his arrest.
-
Joachim? Nice one! I'm sure Daz will have it on his Christmas list.

Gregory's legal team will be on like a hawk looking for anything libel in that! Was some fallout between them in summer 2000 although Joachim actually stayed for the next season.

What happened (allegedly)?

June 2000, the FA Cup Final hangover is yet to lift at Villa Park. Julian "Judge Jools" Joachim hands in a transfer request following quickly in the wake of Ehiogu and Southgate.
The below is an unconfirmed transcript of the conversation with his club manager, John Charles Gregory:
"You're takin' the piss, ain't ya? Julian? You're at the biggest club you'll ever play for!"
"Yeah, gaffer, I could say the same about you."
"But I'm not handing in my notice, am I?"
"You won't have to, if you keep setting us up to play like you did at Wembley".
"Get the fcuk out of my office."
There was a slight easing of conflict during a tough summer for Aston Villa. Two of the three unhappy players were denied moves although many supporters were more concerned about the dismantling of the magnificent Trinity Road stand. Near the start of the following season Joachim came on as a sub, scored and was later replaced in a 4-1 home win against Derby. Many felt John Gregory was trying to show who was boss but in fairness to him, he was merely putting in place a statistic that would not be matched by a Villa player for 21 years (to the month) by one Leon Bailey. Julian got a move in the end (not before an unlikey/unaware cameo appearance in Hannibal) but he had to wait 12 months and was probably not what he had envisaged, literally being sent to Coventry as a makeweight which saw flavour of the month Moustapha Hadji come the other way.
*The End*

@OptaJoe
2 - Leon Bailey is only the second Aston Villa player to come as a substitute, score, and then be substituted in a
@premierleague match, after Julian Joachim against Derby in September 2000. Cameo.

Reading one of those links and this made me smile.
"Chelsea have been in with a pounds 6 million bid although their view on Southgate may change now that they have signed Winston Bogarde from Barcelona on a free transfer"
-
His nephew has already proved better value for us than Winston did for Chelsea.
-
Cheers for that. I now very vaguely remember something about it at the time. JJ certainly getting too big for his boots.
-
Apparently, JJ wanted a new contract. JG breezily said, "Score 15 Prem goals next season and you can have one."
JJ duly did this, then no contract offer!!
