Heaton, Taylor and Elmohamady so far.
-
How much do we reckon that saves in salary?
-
Has there been any official statement on Barkley? I don't expect him to come back, but I haven't seen the club announce anything.

I don't think there's any need to. He was on a season-long loan and now the season is over.
-
I would have liked to have seen a better send off for Elmo at the Chelsea hame. He was a good servant and deserved a song or two.
-
A nice video tribute to all 3 from the Villa.

Blimey. No, thanks for all you efforts etc...
-
£100,000 a week saved there imo.

IT HAS BEEN A PRIVILEGE TO PLAY FOR THIS FOOTBALL CLUB.
AT THE BEGINNING OF THAT TIME THE CLUB WAS IN A PRECARIOUS POSITION IN A LEAGUE WHERE IT DIDN'T BELONG!
FOUR AND A HALF YEARS LATER THE CLUB IS IN A WONDERFUL PLACE WITH OWNERS WHO PLAN TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE VERY TOP ECHELONS OF FOOTBALL!
HOWEVER SMALL A PART, I'M PROUD TO HAVE BEEN PART OF THAT PROCESS.
FANS AND MEMBERS OF STAFF THAT HAVE SERVED THE CLUB FOR SO LONG, NOW HAVE A SMILE ON THEIR FACE AND ARE FULL OF OPTIMISM!
ON BEHALF OF ME AND MY FAMILY, THANK YOU. UTV
NEIL TAYLOR
And from Elmo,
I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone involved with Aston Villa Football Club, it was an honour to have played here. I've had 4 four great years and have enjoyed the highs and lows. I am leaving knowing that I played my part in putting the club back where it belongs.
The squad here is awesome and I know it will only get better with the vision and guidance of the owners.
A big thank you to the manager, coaching staff and all at Bodymoor Heath! But a special thank you, to you the supporters. You've been massively missed this season through the pandemic but will be hopefully back next season to cheer the lads on.
I have been given the opportunity to maybe come back here in a coaching capacity one day, but that's for another day! But until then, UTV !!!
Good luck, lads. Thank you for everything you did.
-
Class. Well done and good luck.
-
What classy statements by both. Our recent renaissance is as much down to the quality of person we've brought in as the quality of player. Elmo and Taylor can both be proud of the role they played in bringing us back and keeping us there and Heaton is very clearly respected by this teammates too.

Totally agree mate. Those leaving comments from Elmo and Taylor are great.

I read that due to the fact the last game of the season was against Chelsea and they were his parent club the last game he was able to play in for us before leaving was the away game at Spurs. So he probably cleared out his locker at that point.

Class from Elmo and Taylor. Anything from Heaton?

This morning we've announced the U23/Youth players who have been retained/released:
Aston Villa can confirm the retained and released list for the club’s Academy.
Nine players have been retained for the 2021/22 campaign - Mungo Bridge, Hayden Lindley, Filip Marschall, Akos Onodi, Arjan Raikhy, DJ Sturridge, Mamadou Sylla, Tyreik Wright and Brad Young.
Every member of the club’s FA Youth Cup-winning team, who recorded a memorable 2-1 triumph over Liverpool last month to secure success in the prestigious competition, have been retained.
Patrick Zito, meanwhile, is being offered a short-term contract.
Nine players have not been offered new contracts - Lewis Brunt, Brad Burton, Jack Clarke, Charlie Farr, Ben Guy, Callum Rowe, Harrison Sohna, Michael Tait and Jake Walker.
All other players in Villa’s Academy are still under contract for next season.
Aston Villa would like to thank each of the players who are departing for their valuable contributions during their time at the club and wish them all the very best for the future.
A few hopes and dreams dashed, it's a cruel world. For every Jack Grealish there are half a dozen who don't make it
-
Over time, for every Jack Grealish there are hundreds/thousands who do not make it.
-
Yannick Bolasie has been released by Everton - worth a punt?
(I am joking!!!)

I’d like to punt him straight through the North as part of its demolition. We should get Tonev back also and have him aim at the goal at that end.

The very best of luck in the future to the young lads released, hope everything works out well for you. Thanks for doing your best whilst representing Aston Villa 👍

They only named the retentions - are there any players of note who are being released?

I'm slightly upset about Jack Clarke, I thought he looked like a great young player about 4-5 years ago but he never pushed on from that. I think he's one hat needed to be loaned out much earlier than he was to give him an idea of how tough it was going to be.

I'm slightly upset about Jack Clarke,
Although it's a bit of a relief we won't have to keep reminding people to put an 'e' on the end of his name.
-
Jacke will be so pleased.

I'll get me glasses.

Didn’t he get injured at a crucial juncture as well?
-
My Spireite mate tells me he’s had a really good season up there and they’d love to keep him. I guess he will get his wish now
-
three experienced lads gone - we're lacking a bit in that area now - but it was right they moved on.
