Details from official website.

I'm still a bit uneasy about it so feel I may as well not apply as would be taking up the seat of someone who is more keen than me.
I assume not applying won't affect my ability to buy a season ticket when things are back to normal?
-
30,000 season ticket holders - i have a 1 in 3 chance of getting a ticket - but the lads who sit around me whose partners work at the Villa will definately get a ticket!!
Will anyone who gets a ticket have to prove that they have had a negative test prior to entering the ground and have to take another test a day after the game?
-
You're not "H" are you?
-

No it won't have any impact on future season ticket sales.
-
Can't wait. Bad English behind the Holte giving Timo Werner "the wankers" after he misses a sitter.

Are you Nigel Boyle or more plausibly, his puppetmaster?
-
I've just entered...a simple process.
I see Government has confirmed that away fans won't be allowed this season. So that's scuppered any chance of getting
a Spurs ticket.....1 of the 500 being considered.
Oh Well !!!
-
Entered. Absolutely desperate to get back. Even reading the announcement made me emotional
-
Entered, not holding out much hope but you never know.
-
I have entered as well. Looking forward to getting back. Would prefer a full house just happy to get the opportunity to attempt to get a ticket.
-
Entered. Think it will be quite emotional for those that are there after so long. Hoping to be amongst them.
-
Entered it as well. Just gazing at my fan ID with some ticket details under it again made me emotional.
-
Entered - quite straightforward process - best of luck to everyone who does enter the ballot - and whoever gets one of the "golden tickets" have a great time and enjoy!

I've just entered too. Will be amazing to get to a game.

Are they doing Hospitality ?
-
Having an absolute mare trying to link my ticket ID to the account
Yeah, it was a pain in the arse. I thought it was me being thick.
-

Not on a one off basis, no. You need to have had a season ticket in there I think.
-

Yeah, it was a pain in the arse. I thought it was me being thick.
Yes, not very straight forward. The whole online offering is still a bit of a mess.
-
How are they working the ballot if you apply in a group? Surely extra people would decrease your chances of your group getting tickets? Or if there's one of you that doesn't get tickets is it just a smaller group?
-

I was wondering that. Or if one person gets pulled out the hat does the whole group get a ticket thus increasing the chances? I don't see how they can split them as groups may include kids, designated drivers etc
-
Make sure your name is exactly the same on the account as on your season ticket or it won’t link your fan ID. E.g Mike-Michael
-
Tried link, getting error message on first page.
-
Lots of third parties advertising tickets on line £200 to £500. How and where are they getting them from?
-
Did mine really easily, which I’m worried about seeing as so many people are having issues.
I must have created the digital account a while back, and I definitely added the photos. I’ve got the confirmation email with me and my lads details, so all seems good.
I really, really want to be there.

They are not splitting groups. If you apply for 6, either all 6 will get a ticket or nobody will.

Same here. I want nothing to do with attending games this season.

Yes, me too. It wasn't accepting my fan ID so I requested a new ID which at least got me into the site to set up my account but has erased my previous ticket history.
Hey ho!

So if you apply as a 6 then you're reducing your chances of getting a ticket, with most likely to get a ticket applying individually? I'd like to sit with my dad but I want to see the game more than I want to have his company while I'm watching it, I've had enough of that over the past year and a bit!
-

They literally can’t have them. No one will know until the 14th if they’ve been successful.
-
Can I clarify do you have to be a season ticket holder for this ballot!?

And if I’ve read it correctly each e-ticket will have a watermark of the photograph we’ve had to upload so getting in on a second hand ticket could be tricky (assuming it’s policed strictly on the day).

This seems strange. If you apply as a group of 6 you'd have a 0.06% chance of all of you getting a ticket..
Will they not just put the groups in different ballots? So like, if there's 100 groups of 6 that have applied for tickets all members of 33 of these groups (or whatever the ratio is) will get tickets and no members of the other 67 groups will get tickets? Then they'd do the same percentages for groups of 5, 4 etc.

Same here. My nephew was trying earlier and messaged me for my ID, but I said not to bother.
I want to come back to a full and rocking Villa Park.

My thoughts exactly Lee, I’ve waited this long a couple more months I can deal with
-
Apologies if this has been discussed already.
I have a group of 3 season tickets: me, my brother, and the third is shared between my daughter and nephew.
At present the third one doesn't have a photo loaded to it, but it's in my nephew's name. My daughter would like to have the chance to go.
Will they check the photos and how will they do it anyway?
-
We've entered. Crossing everything now and rubbing the lucky Villa gnome - normally just a pre-match ritual, now it's a pre-ballot ritual !
-
Can’t everyone eligible apply in their own right? Therefore each group of six can have six entries as lead names?
-

Using this method you could end up with 36 tickets, but only 6 different photos on the tickets.
-

You can only be entered once, either by yourself or in somebody else's group. I've tried, wouldn't let me as my brother had already assigned me to one of his entries.
-
A bunch of us spent ages trying to work out the maths, and the best chance of probability.
Our hunch was that a group of six has a slightly higher chance earlier in the random draw; but that smaller groups will have a better chance later on, as the system tries to 'fill' in the edges of rows. None of us could quite crunch the numbers any more accurately than that though. My maths used to be better than it is now.
So in the end we split into a few groups of two. Be gutting to see mates going if we miss out though.
-
I already had a digital account but, same as others, I initially experienced an error on the first page. Had to go in and out to eventually hit the right page. They certainly don’t make it easy for us fans.
Oh well, at least we have a 1 in 3 chance. Other than just wanting to get back to Villa Park, there will not be much riding on this particular match. Unless of course we continue with a win v Manure and win the rest of our matches, to make a relentless march to European qualification.....nurse, nurse, the asylum has been taken over!!

I've tried unsuccessfully to find the blurb about how long they said they'd keep the photos for, but you could take the chance and simply attach your daughter's photo to that ticket's Fan ID. They'll look at the picture if they do check, not the name.

The Villa web site makes me want to fucking throw my laptop through the window.
Can't log in with my previous credentials. Can't get the cunting thing to send me a password reset. How fucking useless.
-
I see they're touting our fixture at Spurs:
"Villa’s final away match of the 2020/21 season, the club’s first visit to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, will be shown live on Sky Sports."
Errrr....

The first visit since the last one!
By the way, Villa support on Twitter seemed to have been very helpful with quite a few people who’ve had the exact same issue as you with the log in. Might be worth a go?

Have sorted it now, ta.
Makes me wonder how many people just give in, though.

Yeah, it was a pain in the arse. I thought it was me being thick.
Glad it’s not just me then
I’m not very techno friendly but they do seem to make it as difficult as possible
Got there in the end more luck than judgement mind
-
I think part of the issue with the website is if you're trying to do it on a phone it'll keep telling you to link your fan ID even after you've linked it.
So I clicked the link your fan ID option 3 or 4 times before I gave up and tried on the laptop. It was only at that point I saw it was already linked.
-
£50 feels a bit steep, though probably consistent with previous pricing structure

This is what happened to me. I was expecting some confirmation from the website that they'd been linked. But all I got was sent back to the original page which asked me if I wanted to link my account, even when they'd been linked.
-
Me thinks Villa should do an urgent upgrade on their website. Oh, and while they’re at it, any chance of a decent WiFi reception in the ground? It is after all 2021, it really shouldn’t be too difficult.
-
Entered for me and my two kids (both season ticket holders obviously). Could of probably waited till next season, but on the off chance we get tickets the kids will be mad excited. Fingers crossed. If I end up at VP with a crowd of 10,000 it will be a bit like most of the home games I went to between 85 and 87!!
-

It's not £50 everywhere. You can get cheaper if you want and are able to.

Those of us who kept our money in the Club should have been given Priority.I still have Vouchers that expire in September and have a 1/3 chance of being able to partially use them.
Had a read through the process and the procedures required if successful and it just seems so much hassle to watch a Meaningless Football match. It was less hassle booking and travelling on a flight last Summer to Finland.
£50 for zone 1 seating for those 'lucky' to be successful in the Ballot?
Don't give me this rubbish that they care about the fans , Purslow would have jumped at the chance to join the Super League if invited.

But that money that you 'kept in the club' is still yours. You can put that towards next seasons season ticket should you choose too. Besides, why the long whinge if you think its a meaningless game?

Meaningless? I've never wanted to go to a Villa game more.

You wouldn't enjoy it anyway. The "I should be given priority over other people" argument is always popular.

Category A game prices. It is there on the site, along with all the other info about the ballot. It's in the Next Steps section

I too left my money in the club, for two reasons...
1. I somewhat naively thought that it would all be over in a few months and we would have been back in the ground for at least half of this season
2. I am fortunate enough that the refund wasn't necessary for my day to day finances.
I do not think that I should have been given any preferred priority, just because I was financially better off than some of my fellow supporters. If the poster thinks that leaving the money with the club makes him a better fan then he is wrong. And as for a meaningless game? I'm not sure that in my 45 years of attending Villa Park that any game will mean more to me, should I be fortunate enough to be selected to attend. The last 14 months, without attending Villa Park, has been difficult for me, and in all probability, for countless other Villa fans, who have invested their time, money, emotion, heart and soul in following the club that we love. I've missed the pre match beer, the chips from Ali Baba's, the good people that I sit with, and also, the people that sit near me that I dislike. I want to see them all again, shake their hand, or hug them, and tell them how good it is to see them. A few weeks ago, I had my first Covid jab. There was only one place that I could go to, so on a Sunday morning, I drove the 50-odd miles to Villa Park, got out of my car in the Holte End car park, and looked up at the mighty Holte. I'm not ashamed to say that a few tears rolled down my face. It felt like I had come home, and since then it's given me strength knowing that I've been there and will do again, if not for the Chelsea game then hopefully next season. I've missed the place more than words could possibly say. I've missed cheering on the Villa, arguing about team formations and individual players, giving stick to the opposition, moaning about VAR and the referee.
And you call it meaningless? You are entitled to your opinion I guess, but so am I. And your opinion is wrong.

Well said Kevin. I’ve been going since 1957 and after leaving work in 1992 have been to every game home and away (apart from a few European ones). I don’t consider myself any better a fan than the youngster who uses any spare cash to get to games and has a season ticket instead of a Christmas present nor the ones with other financial commitments. I’m happy to join the ballot and hope against hope that I can get back to my beloved Villa Park.
I took the refund because at the time, given my age, life expectancy wasn’t looking too good.
-
It’s great that fans are returning and I can’t wait to get back to watching games in grounds - whenever that will be. What I’d also like to see is the recent fan pressure against the super 6 to be extended to ticket prices for Premier League games. The fact that we are cheaper than most other clubs is good but let’s lead the way and drop prices to a reasonable figure. I’d say that £30 would be about right for the best seats at Villa Park.
Good luck to everyone in the ballot

I've missed cheering on the Villa, arguing about team formations and individual players, giving stick to the opposition, moaning about VAR and the referee.
And you call it meaningless? You are entitled to your opinion I guess, but so am I. And your opinion is wrong.
Great post Kevin!
I too had my refund from the club but not to line my own pockets. Around the same time Wigan had gone tits up and were basically begging for donations just to
pay the staff that remained at the club, now being a pensioner my £90+ wasn't a fortune but they were happy to receive it. I think i must have been the first non-Wigan fan
to donate as i seemed to become somewhat of an on-line hero on Twitter and interviewed on Radio Manchester by Mike Minay. as a footnote that interview was embarrassing, it was Epsom Derby day and i was in the pub. Mike rang me to sort out a time for interview and i told him to ring me after the Derby, he did that and i was totally pissed, must have gone down a storm with my new Wigan friends.
My point i suppose is that it's only around 3 years since we were on brink of oblivion and two knights came riding to our rescue, 2 very wealthy knights. I took the decision to have my refund and gave them my cash. I've since found that Wigan or certainly their fans are wonderful people,Bolton & Barnsley fans may disagree. I donated further small amounts of cash to aid them.
Villa didn't need my cash at that time.
-
All the Best Kevin, hope you get to enjoy the day.
-
Superb post Kev. Happy birthday for yesterday BTW.
-
I chucked a few quid to Wigan as well. I lived there for 10 years, and for a while they were my second team. My best man was a coach there under Bruce and then ran the women's team.

Fair play....I've never been to Wigan apart from watching Villa there.

*Mic Drop*
I did the same and agree with first part of your post however the original poster's opinion is not wrong. It's a valid opinion.

Certainly was! I don’t like having a 16yr old son though. Feeling ancient!

6 of the Bournemouth Lions have applied as a group, so we shall see what happens.

I could never watch Aston Villa and call it meaningless no matter what this pandemic as been the worst time ever for us all and not having Aston Villa in my life going home and away with my friends seeing my mates at games was hard to take it made my mental illness so much worse but I cling on to the hope that we will all be back there next season and when I go through the turnstiles it will be emotional that's for sure I look forward to meeting up with you guys again.

Quite interesting to see Burnley release details of their ballot for the home game with Liverpool.
Tickets will be free of charge.

You are an utter idiot. Meaningless? No Villa fixture is meaningless. Purslow has integrity. What a clueless set of comments. How many more returns will there be after your usual flounces out?
Mod hat back on.

What an incredible & wonderful gesture from Burnley. To thank their season ticket holders, they are allowing 3,500 of them to go to the match v Liverpool, for FREE, for those that are successful in their ballot. This is just the type of thing that I wish our club would have thought of doing. Instead, they have made our match v Chelsea a category A game so, some fans will have to pay £50. At last, at least Burnley are putting their fans best interest at heart instead of just paying lip service.

Our owners have invested £400m. Only Chelsea and Man City's owners have invested more of their own money.
Burnley's owners have bought the club via loans and loaded them onto the club, like the Glazers did.
I think its clear who has the best interests of the fans at heart.

If you think any Villa game is meaningless then perhaps you should be using your spare time and money on other things.
You must have been having a REALLY shitty day to post that.

The season Burnley they were promoted, they gave everyone who already had a season ticket, a free season ticket for their first season in the Premier League.
It was an incentive from the previous season’s season ticket sales, but still pretty good.

No, 10,000 or whatever the allocation is applied within three hours. The ballot only closed on Sunday. That's what they meant.

Exactly. I'd rather our owners save us from Administration and then invest hubdreds of millions making us a competitive team in the PL than give me a free ticket for a game I would have gladly been paying for anyway if it wasn't for the pandemic.
And although its cat A that doesn't mean all tickets will be £50.

Wouldn’t be like them to post utter bollocks as click bait.

We didn’t apply until Thursday because we were finalising our group. We were trying to invite the bloke who usually sits next to us on his own, via Facebook, but he doesn’t use facebook very much so we gave it a few days.
We are meeting him for lunch though, whether we get tickets or not!
For us there was simply no rush, it’s not like a cup final ticket where all the seats, or the best seats would have gone. As long as you were in the hat by Sunday you have the same chance as everyone else.

Yes. You need to upload one to their account. I had issues with my lads password for some reason, but Villa Support on Twitter were very helpful. Easy.

It took 3 hours for the ballot to become over subscribed.

-
Gutted for those who didn't get picked.
We'll make plenty of noise.
Been a long time since last February...
This, make sure Jack and the new guys get a taste of what it'll be like come August to hear a full VP getting behind our much improved team.
-
Me and the oldest are in!! Game is the week before his 10th birthday too
-
No email for me either but to be honest, just seeing fans back in the ground is going to be fantastic. Hope everyone going has a great day.
-
Haven’t heard anything. Gutted and more so for my kids, but ah well, well done to those that got them
-
I have had the email at 10.39 am I am in!!! Best of luck to everyone
my email is also timed at 10:39.

Those still clicking refresh on their inbox can save time by logging into their avfc ticket account. If it says 'no tickets to show', you aint in.

I have been successful, however, mine also says that, and the email said I'd be able to actually buy the tickets from Monday

I stand corrected. Thanks art

Yes yes yes...lucky me.😊

Enjoy you lucky barstewards

Just got my email to say I was successful which I'm obviously delighted about. Have they announced any prices yet or will that be revealed on monday?

Yes yes yes...lucky me.😊
Great news, did you get me a spare one as well? ;)
I did ask in the comments box “Please sir can I have one for my mate from Brazil?” Just waiting for reply😂

Cheers, once Dougee and Wes read the comments I'll be sorted! :)

Well done to everyone going. Chelsea don't win and they won't make top 4 so that will add a bit of spice and I imagine will get a hostile reception anyway after the nonsense of last few weeks so will be a really good atmosphere, I assume we'll just use Holte end and lower tier of either Trinity or Witton?
I presume mask wearing and earlier arrival is part of the deal for this?
-
Looks Like I’ve kept my 100% record of getting a big fat zero
Never got anything even from the away ticket ballots that I’ve entered in the past
Is there a football equivalent to being blackballed in Golf
well done to all you winners though I’m sure you’ll make some noise and have a great time
-
have a great time to all those that got them...

You'll feel better about it when we are 6-0 down at half time.

Is it reasonable to assume that all the emails went out at similar time this morning and so I can stop refreshing now, we aren't going?
It's the hope that kills ya !

Afraid so. The club has tweeted that all emails have been sent.
-
First of all I hope everyone that goes has a great time and see's us win!
Second of all I am gutted!
I had convinced myself that I wasn't bothered either way but now that I haven't got one I am more down than I thought I would be. Season ticket for over 30 years. You can count the number of home games I have missed on one hand.
Not really sure this was done the fairest way with no consideration for "time served". Maybe a case of sour grapes but I am pissed off!

I agree and am much less deserving than you, but you never know how many more chances you’ll get to go as a family etc so would never turn it down.
-
Villa on tour didn’t get one either
-
I'm still against tiering classes of fan for time served. How are the newer and younger fans ever supposed to build up a history to get tickets for big games or away days? You'll have the same 4 or 5k people first in the queue for ever more and that doesn't sit well with me.
Certainly for this game, all £30k had stumped up the money for their season ticket and in my view had as much right as eachother to go to the game.

Much like membership of the MCC, you would have to wait for the older generation to pop their clogs. Could bring a new dimension to the deathwatch thread?
Generally I agree with you, though from a purely selfish perspective, those of us who have retained their season ticket from 15/16 onwards should have some form of benefit from the last 5 years of performances.
-
I didn't get one but I have no issues with how the ballot was run....not sure what else they could do . I get the "time served " argument, and if that had been applied I might have stood a pretty good chance, but how far do you go? No complaints here .......Disappointed but not the end of the world in the grand scheme.
I remember promotion year when, having luckily been able to go to enough aways to get a ticket for the Hawthorns semi final, I promised on here to make enough noise for those that weren't so lucky ....this time the boot's on the other foot, so once again....SING UP YOU LUCKY B**TARDS !!!!
-
The time served argument is an interesting one. I think the problem is we've never had a 'loyalty point' system like other clubs though, so anything we came up with would be retrospectively applied, which isn't really fair. If it was number of season ticket renewals, I'd be low down the list, however I had one for 20 consecutive years before a 3 year gap ending in 2017 and for the last 3 years have done pretty much every single home and away game.
I'm sure there are lots of others in similar situations, how could you simply and fairly reward people's loyalty retrospectively to get to a 10000 person cap?
-
As long as I'm always guaranteed a ticket, I'm not arsed.
-
On an individual basis it would have worked, but for groups of fans booking together how would they have allocated tickets based on length of time having a season ticket if there were different time periods.
-
Club have had my money for over a year and all I have is six poxy vouchers that I can't get rid of that expire in September and who knows what the situation will be then with new variants . Can't see full stadiums
Hello darkness my old friend....
-
Gutted I didn’t get a ticket, but chuffed for everyone that did.
Meanwhile back on planet Earth...
-
Fair play to everyone lucky enough to get one.
Questionable 'business" decision to piss off many of your most loyal 'customers' by failing to acknowledge them though. Years ago this would have surprised me greatly, but those days are long gone.
Even the FA still have a go at rewarding England fans commitment.
It pains me that I'm not furious or even angry but that's what the game has done to me.
See you next season.
-
Just hope that the Chelsea game is a lot better, for you chosen few, than last nights match.
-
I was initially devastated and have to say I still am!
I can’t be anything other than pleased for fellow Villa Fans who are going but having been a season tickets holder since 1981 and cleaned seats at the ground as a kid to get in for free and probably been to 95% of all away games for the last 30 years and seen us play across Europe and the USA and spent, especially when I was younger a large chunk of my disposable income on it..... just a little bit of my love for Us died today.
-
On the issue of rewarding loyalty versus giving everybody the same chance of a ticket, I’d say the England travel club have the fairest method for away games and tournaments which could work at club level too.
70% of the allocation goes on a loyalty basis to those who’ve attended most games, with the other 30% going into a random ballot which gives new supporters a chance to get on the ladder and avoid it becoming a closed shop.
-
Ultimately with just 10k allowed some long servers would've been disappointed whatever the selection method.
Personally I'd have given away 1k of the tickets to local health workers and hope we do that next season so that would've miffed some of you off more!
Also would prefer we got a more normal matchday experience before I start going again next season e.g. no masks, can mill no problem in concourse and can rock up at five to three and get in so who knows how long into next season before that all occurs like the old days.
Spoke to a Newcastle fan I know earlier who's got tickets for their home game next midweek v Sheffield United. Says he has to be in his seat a minimum of 45 minutes before kick off so you can just about get away with that sort of thing in May but won't be that many willing next November-December.
-
As long as I'm always guaranteed a ticket, I'm not arsed.
Aha a ticket super leaguer.
-
I have WON a ticket which I have to pay for. Now I have to go through the rigmarole of buying it. Is it worth the hassle as I had so much hassle getting into the draw in the first place? Villa don’t make anything simple, and I still have all of these vouchers to use. Can I use one to buy the ticket? So many questions…..
-
I'm in! Feels great to go again after so long away. I hope the ticket purchasing is easier than setting up the ID, linking accounts etc.! Commiserations to those who did'nt get in.
-
Were the ballot rules clear from the onset?
I assume it was simply names in a hat, etc with no weighting to "length of service"?
-
As long as I'm always guaranteed a ticket, I'm not arsed.
Aha a ticket super leaguer.
More an addict.
Glad I won, but ballots are shite and unfair.
-
I haven’t got a ticket and gutted but that’s the way it is. But I’m not sure the longevity of going argument would work in a ballot. Apart from a gap in the mid 90s when I was away at uni, coinciding when we happened to be bloody good, I’ve been going regularly since mid 80s. But I go with my kids now who have been season ticket holders since last year of the championship. Rewarding long service if you like basically means anyone with kids can only go without them. Kids are the future and all that.
Anyway....I’m not going but enjoy those who are.be back in August using my voucher reduced season ticket hopefully.

Given how many people have missed out who want to go, posting that is about as tone deaf as it gets!
-
Has anyone got an answer from the club on how a family shared ST can operate with the photo ID? Simple as changing the photo when it's a printed ticket like this game?

@Risso - the wind up comment was nothing personal it was simply that I couldn’t see anyone else anywhere, that had had news of tickets at that stage. I thought if anyone had heard, I would at least have seen some mention on a Villa channel that people were starting to hear, even if I didn’t hear directly of anyone else who had one. Anyway - I hope you have a great day as you have always helped others, including me, out with tickets so you’ve earned this.
...but Villatilidie1982 - this is serious trolling. I don’t think you have any idea how gutted many of us are not to be able to go, and if it really is so difficult for you, please feel free to just leave it. It really isn’t difficult. All you’ve got to do now is nothing. Don’t pay for your ticket & it’ll go to someone who really wants it, or who doesn’t get their kicks from basically laughing in the faces of their fellow fans disappointment.

I read his post as tongue in cheek/sarky and that he was parodying one of our sporadic trolls, let's call him Fred, for whom the Villa can do no right. Don't believe Vtid82 meant any harm.

I can see both sides of the debate and was letting off a little steam. I do stand by the fact that I feel a bit let down though. Somebody going to the game who has had a season ticket for a couple of years when I (and many others) have missed out doesn't sit well with me.
There will always be a problem when demand far outstrips supply and I know its a problem to build up a history. We have this issue with away tickets which is a bit of a closed shop.
We don't say that for the first away match next season all season ticket holders have an equal right to go so we will have a ballot and its down to luck do we?
-
Absolutely!
-
Missed out. Not that fussed to be honest.
-
Good luck to all successful applicants and commiserations to the unlucky ones. Can’t wait to be back in a full Villa Park next season
-
No criteria based on longevity, please. Children shouldn't be discriminated against for not being born earlier. Season ticket holder raffle seems the fairest to me. Hopefully it won't matter after this game and we can have full houses next season.
-
Loyalty should always count.
-
My youngest is 11 and has been villa mad since he was 6, seen us get relegated, promoted etc. I think in the ballot as a season ticket holder he deserved an equal chance of getting a ticket or not as is the case as someone who can say they have been going for more or less 40 years like me on account that I’m getting in a bit. I was just as much a loyal villa fan at 13 as I am now.
-
Loyalty should always count.
To a degree in my view or you risk alienating the younger fans coming through. Fortunately we aren't in a position yet to be having this regularly but its a fact of life for those clubs who get to Finals esp Euro's on a regular basis. The first time this is going to bite is if we maintain 30k season tickets and then get to an FA Cup Final. Not enough of an allocation to go around for 30k STH's. I agree that longevity should be one of a number of criteria but we need to be careful. Quite liked that idea from earlier in the thread which England use.
-
I don’t think there's an issue at home. These are unique circumstances of it being significantly oversubscribed for a public health reason. It's not ideal, but I get it.
I think we'll shift 30,000 season tickets again and then there is a slog on for the 8000 or so match tickets out of members, but Villa Park in 5 years will be bigger than it is now
Away from home there's perhaps a 1000 core of us who've been going home and away for the last 30 years. That loyalty should be rewarded with the Away Scheme.
I dont know whether it would be fairer to weight games for those outside that. At present you qualify for games based on attendance, so game X opens up at 12+ aways and so on. But it might be possible for say a standard game to be worth 1 point and more distant fixture 3 points. So kicking off tomorrow at midday at a ground 16 days away would attract more than going to the Wolves. Its either that or retain the tiered system but have a 15% of all away tickets go I to.a ballot for season ticket holders.
-
give them to acorns to raffle off
-
I think it should be much more than 15% open to newer younger fans. At least 30%, possibly more. You can't have a closed shop forever and even with a ballot it will take someone years to build up enough credit to be one of the chosen few.
-

It's not that easy though. I live 120 miles away from Villa Park, in London so I've got half a dozen away games within easy reach every season. Who's to say what a standard or difficult game to get to is? Home games are a five hour round trip for me. I only missed 4 games league and cup, home and away before lockdown, racking up 6,000 miles. I worked my way up through the Lions club first, then with a season ticket I was doing enough games to start climbing through the tiers all the way to the 12+ top tier.
I've missed out in the ballot, and I'm gutted. But I totally accept that was the fairest way. If we got to the cup final and had 30,000 season ticket holders all wanting 25,000 tickets, there'd almost certainly be a weighted system – but it's never going to be 100% 'fair'.
-
I hope the 10k that have tickets are busy sorting out songs for the new players....

Guess Barkley will be classed as old player by time of Chelsea game so round of "you're not fit to wear the shirt" as he walks round at the end (probably won't even be at the ground).
-
I am rehearsing:
Bye bye Barkley
Barkley goodbye
Bye bye Barkley
It won't make me cry

And it did by only having the ballot amongst season ticket holders.

Let's reserve that for August

What is the process for those who have been successful in the ballot.
Do you have to have/prove a covid test before and after the match?
How will they handle entry and exit to the ground, and Will food and drink stands be available as well as toilets?
Hopefully, the ‘experience’ with a reduced crowd should still be as normal as possible, in readiness for next season.

Very good and presumably Villa inspired by Dean Martinez's original version.

I do hope with the rise in cases and the new Variant that is spreading like Wildfire in some areas of the County people will be careful and follow the Guidelines next Sunday.
I am surprised a Lateral Flow Test was not a Requirement for Entry. Who knows what situation the Country will be in this time next week, things can change so quickly . NHS Lateral Flow tests can be ordered online and give a Result within 30 minutes, be good if all those who are Attending take the Test on the morning of the match.

If ever there was a week in our history to get some decent chants recorded and shared on social media, getting the kids/hardcore hearing/practicing them this would be it.

Andy/Oftalab, all the details about ground protocols were listed on the “Enter Ballot” site. No doubt they will put a reminder to those of you that got tickets when you go to actually purchase them. Have a great day at the match.

Is anybody else finding it hard to buy tickets? I cannot find anywhere on the site that is selling them.

Yeah I dare not say anything but that is steep. I'm in the Upper Holte at £45.
-
£32 lower north. Struggled to get £27 tickets for Holte as availability for group number wasn't there.

How much are they charging for Trinity? Most I've ever paid at VP is 45 quid to sit there

I just paid £50 each for Upper Trinity not far from my normal seat.

Was hoping my e-mail has just been lost, but still "no events found" Tits.
-
I got 3 tickets in the Holte End Lower, quite a straight forward transaction really, roll on Sunday.
-

Have you logged in?

Yes, just didn't get lucky in the ballot.
-
Easy. There's only one Emiliano Martínez, one.....
Villa's Number twenty six.....
-
Tammy will go to West Ham Unfortunately.
Blimey, it's West Ham United, I thought you'd have known that by now.
-
Just ordered mine - 1 ticket in the Holte End Lower
-
3 tickets purchased in the upper North almost close to my normal ST seats. Job done.
-
can someone please clarify - I am right in thinking I do not need to print the ticket off but can have the same scanned from my mobile? Am I reading what Villa have sent correctly
-
on some areas the i select the seats and they just flash for a few seconds then go back to normal - if i go in the upper tiers of the doug ellis its fine, i have 3 kids so would rather be at the lower end...any reason for this ?

Yes, they should be able to scan the PDF ticket that's been sent to your email.

So if you are buying 4 tickets click on group of 4 seats. The allocation is very clever and seats are set aside to ensure application bubbles stay together.
-
For anyone that missed out, any seats unclaimed as of midnight on Wednesday are going back into another ballot which you'll be automatically entered for according to AVFC Support on twitter. All hope isn't lost!

Don’t say that. It’s the hope that kills you!!
-
eventually got one in the DE, don't know about anyone else, but had real problems trying to select a single seat.
-
Mr Underhill - i had the same issue as i was trying to purchase a single ticket - was a bit of a nightmare
-
glad I wasn't the only one ! Thought i was going senile
-
We are L9
-
326 seats left accorning to my calculations
-
You lucky beggars
-

YOu have to attend, if you cant you'll have to give your ticket back. I asked about this and they said no transfers to other people.

Had an email saying I had re-ballot success and there were a few tix available but click on Buy Tickets and no link to the game just the kids match - assume this means they’ve sold ?

Yep, exactly the same for me - got very excited for a few minutes 😩

Fuck it, wish I'd seen that e-mail earlier.
-
If you got an email I would try again now - tickets appeared for me and I managed to get one 😀 Suspect they became available at midday.

Keep trying - just got 2 !! About 20 left it appeared
-
Separate to this but as per youth thread am quoting, those that didn’t win the ballot, 19/20 ST holders can get Mondays youth fa cup final tix
Just got two tix for Monday. They went on sale at 12. 4750 only first come first served to those that didn’t get Chelsea tix. Now off to Warwick races - first outdoor event since forever. Hope it’s a lucky omen !

Brilliant, thanks for the heads up. At the Villa Sunday and Monday!
-
96 seats left for Sunday
-
I'm going Monday too. Feel slightly guilty I'm going Sunday and Monday.
-
There's only about 150 left for the youth cup final. I wonder why they don't release another 1,000 or so. I guess because it would mean opening another stand?
-
Has anybody had the health questionnaire sent through yet? This has to be completed before Sunday doesnt it?
-
Whilst looking at Youth tickets noticed that STILL 25 TICKETS LEFT FOR CHELSEA GAME
-
Re Health Questionnaire. They are not very clear whether this is filled in on the morning of the game via SMS or whether we can access it online. Anyone know?
-
Just getting nervous re the health declaration having been plucked out in the ballot for the last 100 or so tickets.
-
Thought you couldn't go to Sunday and Monday?
-
Thought you couldn't go to Sunday and Monday?
They never said that. Just people who didn't get Chelsea tickets had first dibs at youth cup game. Both currently still have tickets available.
-
I’m doing both too. Can’t wait. Think Sunday could be quite emotional.
-
I was told by the club we’d get the health questionnaire in an email today (Thursday).
-
Thanks for the info CT. It's unclear on the website.
-
Does the email go to the lead name in the group, or does everyone in the group get an individual email?
-

So if you can go Sunday you can also go Monday. But if you are only eligible for Monday you can't go Sunday.
-
I think any ST holder can go Monday - just book a ticket they are on general sale to ST holders.
Those who didn't win the Chelsea ballot had first dibs on the Youth game but it's now been opened up to all ST holders from today.
Some people who didn't get in the first Chelsea ballot were offered a second bite of the cherry for the Chelsea game today - so some of us who already had a ticket for Monday managed to snag a ticket for Sunday too. But there's no reason it wouldn't work the other way round too.
-
Does the email go to the lead name in the group, or does everyone in the group get an individual email?
Yeah, I’d guess the lead name in the group, whoever booked and paid for all the tickets.
Still no email as of yet (3.15pm)
-
Our lead booker didn’t get an email either.
-
Probably 72 hours means exactly that - 72 hours before kick off, rather than 72 hours being 3 days which is what I thought it meant
-
Still no email here yet
-
There's still 27 seats available for this game if anybody hasn't got one yet. I'm not sure if it's open to everone who entered the initial ballot as the e-mail said they had done a second chance ballot.
-
No email yet? The ballot and ticket purchases weren't that straightforward, hopefully this is simpler?
-

Games starts at 4 on Sunday so we are now in the 72 hour window.

Well our group hasn’t had an email and can’t get into the ticketing site so I’m not sure what’s happening there!
-
so, two friends of mine have been able to get Chelsea tickets, but when I have tried via website and app, the tickets are not showing only Liverpool!! Anyone else had this or know what is going on. I see a second ballot mentioned but apparently no mention of this on site just tickets available, very frustrating.
-
My email said tickets were only going to be made available until 4pm.
-
Yes my friends email said 4pm, but he didn't see the email and still got his ticket at 8.30, rang me hence the panic, but i didn't get an email.
-
still no email about the health check up
-
Email has arrived
-

The e-mail for Chelsea tickets said there had been a second ballot and I had been successful in that. I'm not sure if thats true or if it was just everybody who missed out on the first ballot. If you didn't get an e-mail then yes, perhaps you were just very unlucky and didn't make the second ballot either?
-
Yeah, the health questionnaire email has arrived but my link to the form isn't working
-

Same for me and I only have three links but four tickets. 🤦🏻♂️
-
Got the health questionnaire but the link isn’t working for me.
-
Mine not working either. Sure it’ll be sorted. Although should I be concerned that the link only appears to be for the wife’s ID and not mine ?
-

As long as they are told there's an issue with the link, otherwise they won't know it needs sorting. And yes, in answer to your question. Should be one link for each ID
-
My link is working now. Panic over
-
Completed the form, straight forward - just hope that I read the questions correctly!!
Looking forward to Sunday
-

Thanks. Have received a second email now. All sorted. Can’t wait.

No email yet for Monday's game...
-
Have just spoken to the club. The questionnaires for Monday will go out after 8pm tonight. If you got through the second ballot for Sunday you should be getting one sometime this afternoon.

No problem. I had to check because somehow I got a ticket for Sunday in a second ballot and hadn't got the questionnaire.

Bang on 8pm. All done, can’t wait for Monday, but it will be interesting to hear everyone’s experiences on Sunday.
-
So far, I must say, everything about the organisation for the match on Sunday has worked absolutely perfectly. Well done Aston Villa and particularly the staff handling this. Can't praise them enough.
-
Has everyone recieved tickets for the match. I filled in the healrh questionnaire but havent got the tickets yet

Aren’t they on your original confirmation email ?

Yes I got my tickets straight away
-
Off topic, but I found out yesterday that I’ve lost out in the ballot for the England v Scotland game at the Euros, due to the reduced capacity. Having bought the tickets about two years ago, I had been enjoying the increasing possibility of seeing a few Villa play. With my second vaccination lined-up before then it looked like it would work out, so I’m royally fucked off.
-
Anyone else struggling to get the health questionnaire to submit? Mine is for Monday, just keep getting 'API error' after submitting

I’ll see you losing this game and raise that I lost tickets for the final in the ballot.

I feel you bro. I also had England v Czech Republic, but sent them back when they changed the refund policy a couple of months ago.

I had tickets by Ballot for The Springboks vs British Lions. Now no fans to attend
