Erm...I'll admit..a bit scared. They just to Leeds at home. Perfect time to play them FFS
Anyway I amm sure we will try and get into their half every so often and do our best to get to 30% possession and keep the score down
I'll stay conservative and go 3-1 Man City
-
Death by a thousand passes. 0-3
-
We will be bored to death.
-
20:15 kick-off? Bit of a late finish for the kiddies innit?
-
Dont think he will play our kids. He wont see this as a game to experiment in.
-
Whichever team they put out will be excellent. I'll be amazed by anything other than defeat
-
One can hope for a surprise, it's worth going shit or bust but in all probability it will be both with some ffs thrown in for good measure.
0-2
-

I meant our young fanbase
-
Let's hope we are better than the women's team FFS
I fear a Citeh backlash after the Leeds result
0-4 :(
-
1-3. Take the points and fuck off!
-
Let’s hope he picks Sterling in a bid to get his confidence up. He looks completely shot as an attacking force.

he was shit tonight
-
2-0 home win, Wembley on their minds as they attempt to hold on in their
quadruple treble bid.
-
All depends on what we can do with our 20% possession of having the ball. Doubt it will amount to much though. Just hope we put up a bit of a fight but, the way we have been playing lately suggests we have settled for what we have already got.
-
who is next ?
-
2-0 win. El Ghazi twice.
-
We absolutely shit ourselves in this fixture last season.
We should atleast have a better game plan this time.
They will still win, best team in Europe. Thankfully the most tolerable Champions League team in Europe aswell.
-
1-3. Take the points and fuck off!
I say!
-
Lets face it, they have walked the league this season.
As reigning champions, we will put 7 (seven) past them next season.
-
I think we might just sneak it 1 0 EMI to play a blinder Davis to come off the bench and score, you just never know.
-
0-4
-
2-0 win. El Ghazi twice.
I’ll have a pint of whatever you are drinking :-) :-)
-
We played o.k up there. Remember it was 0-0 up to 80th minute before the scandal of the first goal and this was coming straight back off the covid break with minimal training so I don't see it as a beat down.
Will probably go same way as Spurs game though. We'll be competitive at 0-0 and then lose our way falling behind.
Not sure what we'll do out wide as Traore surely played his way out of a start after the abysmal Liverpool performance. Him and El Ghazi only senior options we have but it looks uninspiring currently either side of Ollie.
Would prefer to pack the midfield and push McGinn up close to Ollie.
I do wonder whether a random change to 3-5-2 might be beneficial for a game like this but no idea who the third CB would be. That's the way to start Davis anyway to give us a bit more presence up there.
-
Pep must have been shitting himself about playing us next Wednesday as he only put out his second string in an FA Cup semi final. Obviously, he will put out his strongest team against us.
-
We were good up there, despite losing, but then we were playing well at the time. We’re largely still out of form as we have been for months. They didn’t play well yesterday but Chelsea are better than us, I also thought they did play really well against Dortmund. Can’t see us causing them too many problems attacking wise if smith stick to the tried and tested. On that I really would like to see Davis in now, with Trez and Jack out there are limited options wide and with Barkley I think likely to be bombed out, it really does shout out time to change it up. I think we’ll lose but would like to see this team.
Martinez
Cash
Konsa
Mings
Targett
Luiz
McGinn
Ramsey
Watkins
Davis
Traore

This will be the game he plays Davis, who won’t get a kick and everybody can say how useless he is.

I thought that earlier too.

or he scores a hat-trick then people can say "I told you so..."
maybe not

7-2
-
Might be nice to try something different once in a while.
-

FFS, mate.
-
That's just guaranteed the word seven in brackets on the vidiprinter.

0-2.
-
Routine win for off form City.
-
I would love to be proven wrong, but how many times have we seen a side out of form or a striker who hasn’t scored for yonks get rejuvenated by Villa. A properly distracted team, champions league semi, league cup final coming up. Hopefully they rest lots of players. I’d be chuffed with a draw.
-
Think we will lose but have a better score than the AVFC ladies team.

I know we are running out of options but we can't have Traore starting in his current form. We are effectively starting with 10 with him in the team. This isn't the game for AEG either. There's more chance of Paul McGrath starting instead of Engels so we might aswell picking a team with an eye to next season. I'd like to see a front three of McGinn, Davis and Watkins, something a bit different. It's going to be a tough night for us I expect.
Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Mings, Targett, Luiz, Ramsey, Nakamba, McGinn, Davis, Watkins
-
Kevin De Bruyne won't be playing for sure and there will be plenty of rotation again for Man City who look pretty jaded.
I think there's a chance here for Villa.
I can see Barkley , Nakamba and Elmo in the line up.
Barkley off Watkins and Nakamba in a 3 man midfield sitting with Douglas Luiz.
Elmo out wide supporting Cash.

If that’s the team, I’ll be watching from behind the sofa, with a blindfold on. Oh, and ear plugs.
-
It would be nice to win our last ever meeting.
-
1-5
David White to score 4.
Failing that, 3-1 - Daley to score a dipping volley on green sand.
-
No point playing this. Seen bits claiming the league is starting this August so let's sit it out.
-
If Man City have quit European Club Association, does our game even go ahead?
If they’re no longer effectively part of UEFA or FIFA, it’s a non sanctioned game?
-
I can't be arsed to watch it now.
-
Call it off, award us the points. Ta.
-
0-3
-
Can't remember the last time we played in which everyone else in the world also wants us to win.
-

Sterling (12, 27, 34, 56, 72, 83, 90+1)
That's a lot of own-goals.

Club Tropicana!
-
Wonder if there will be any protest goal celebrations, vests with crayon on under shirts
-
I’d make them change in the North Stand car park and send them straight back out there after the game.
Maybe we should just stand on the side of the pitch and watch, seeing as they don’t want competition.
Fuck them, and all they stand for.
-
Depending on the PL meeting tomorrow afternoon - it could well be scrapped.
-
Villa's social media admin advertising the game is two days away.
A shot showing the back of a player taking a throw in.
Cash.
Good effort chaps!
-
It’s a shame we’re on such poor form, as a win for us now would be so symbolic and would point to exactly these clubs want to run away to their franchise
-
I will be following this game on the Villa App tomorrow as well as any other upcoming game against the skyscab6.
"I will love it if we beat them, love it" (credit Keegan)
Let's leave our mark on them ahead of the scab cup final this weekend.
UTV!
-
We should stand still.
Lose the toss, they kick off. All our players just stand still. Let City walk it in, prove the game without competition is dead.

We'd only lose 1-0 too.

Sounds like a standard Villa Park performance against Man City.
-
Is there anything in the rules that says we can’t walk out holding the European Cup?
-
I think they should play a recording of Villa fans singing 'Have you won the European Cup....' on repeat on the tannoys throughout the match.
-

Borne to the centre circle by some of the players who won it.
-

To make an even more unequivocal statement against what the ESL would represents, yes, we should walk out holding the European Cup, but flanked either side by someone carrying a banner proclaiming our two subsequent relegations from the top flight.
-
Division 3 to Champions of Europe. That’s football, you classless twats!

Beat me to it, we did eactly that last year from kick off at Villa Park.
-
Oh bollocks, there's a game on?
-
Sanson, Trez and Grealish out. Our options are going to be very limited but I really hope Smith doesn't go for the expected front three of Traore and AEG on either side of Watkins. If ever there was a game we needed a direct option in Davis and a solid midfield set up this is it.

Would that make it a Bourne Legacy?
-
Fear for us in this one.
-
Fear for us in this one.
For the briefest of times this year I had that thought that i always want going to a Villa game, we can give anyone a game.
Its disappeared to we will probably just roll over.
-
I’m with you on that one. By and large, since the turn of the year, we seem to have gone backwards. Got to hand it Leeds, they won against this lot with only 10 men. Sadly, I don’t see us matching that. It’s not only us though. Most of the matches seem to have turned into pre season kick abouts. Even the teams that have something to play for seem to be dross.

Completely agree with this
-
Do we know if any protest is organised around Villa Park tonight?
-
If we played them when we were scheduled to you would fancy us to win. It's all change since then. 0-3
-
Do we know if any protest is organised around Villa Park tonight?
24 hours ago I saw a few people trying to organise things. I was going to head up the M5 myself, but it seems a bit of a waste of time tonight now.
We'll get a say when we’re allowed back in.
-
Guaranteed the moral victory tonight at least, Small Heath style.
-
Villa 9/1....worth a fiver at least.
-
Ps.....both teams to score 5/4
-
It would be nice not to be the first team to lose to one of the 'sexy 6' since all this blew up.

Unfortunately, Tottenham are doing their best to lose at the moment
