I’ve never known which was my first game (well actually it was a test event where we snuck into a 2nd half of a Walsall game for free), but I’ve found this scrap book
6/10/79 I was 5yrs old, nearly 6, maybe my first match?
Villa 3-Saints 0
I’m going to hand it over to little AV for some 17month old scribbles on the big pages unless anyone would want this? Not sure it’s exactly worth having?!
My Gary Shaw scrapbook, that ain’t going anywhere!

My first game, I was in the programme. My Dad won a competition or something. Typically, I don't have a bloody copy!

My first game was home to Leyton Orient in August 1959.We won 1-0.I know I had some sort of programme which I gave to a classmate at school so I no longer have it .As far as I recall he is the only Orient supporter I have ever met.

Surely it can be tracked down?!

Probably. 16 November 1996, if anyone has a spare! 1-3 against Leicester.

don't remember the fixture but my Dad took me to a Central League match at the end of 58/59 season to see the scores posted from the WBA and Villa last match of the season when they equalised to send us down.
Cried all the way home when Dad broke the news of what they had done to us.
Never forgiven the Baggies from that day forward.
Payback time today methinks

The first game that I remember was against Blackburn in 1963. It is memorable because Derek Dougan was playing and this was when he had shaved his head, a style that was very unusual at the time.
My uncle took me so I was probably under orders to behave and watch the match. I'd been with my dad on previous occasions but spent most of the time running up and down the bank at the back of the Witton end

Millwall at home, 1988. First day of the season, first game back in the top flight. 2-2 McInally and ... without looking I think Stuart Gray got the other. They had Sheringham, Cascarino and Ruddock in their side.
