That is superb.
-
Different class
-
Love this. Been following them on twitter for a while now.
-
Absolutely wonderful. Real love for the club. It’s amazing how much we all take for granted. But when you watch something like this you see just how little true happiness actually costs.
-
I love the Ghana Villains, they always make me smile.
-
UTV :)
-
Quality.
-
Any car reversers amongst them ?
-
You can hear us singing, from the streets of Juaben, Ghana at 5am....
Allez, allez, allez
-
p.s. could we rename the thread Ghana Lions? Seems more appropriate to me

Agreed, a really positive bunch. Wish I was that happy following the Villa!
-
just watched it, brilliant stuff !
UTV Ghana Lions
The Doc
-
Be brilliant if one day they could get over here to see the ground etc
-
That's fantastic.
-
Brilliant. I must have some dust in my eye!
I've also followed them on Twitter for a while.
Their support, enthusiasm and joy is authentic and absolutely infectious (in a good way). It would be great if the club could send them a message.
I wonder if God knows - after losing his mom it might give him a lift. UTV.
-
Brilliant stuff, so good to see their love for all things Villa. I bet they even know who Andrew Greaves is as well.
-
That's just brilliant. Their enthusiasm is infectious and not a glory hunter in sight. Celebrated staying up like we had won a cup. If only we can actually win something, I think they would self combust. Thanks for sharing.
-
That's put a smile on my face. Thank you for sharing.
-
Saved to my phone.
The perfect pick me up for when I feel pissed off.
100% guaranteed to make me feel better.

Ther is actually a ‘gofundme’ for this but it feels like the timing is out because none of us can go at the moment! If they could get here, I’d want it to be when we have a proper crowd so they can get the full experience.
-
Heartwarming, hope they get here.
-
Truly amazing.
I’ve added visiting that village to my bucket list.
-

They are very eager to do so, and meet up with other fan clubs. Think something could be done to help with this when Corona slows down. Would be fun to also visit at same time
-
Has anyone tweeted this to our God ?

I @ him under the article
-
Good. I'm sure he'd be choked if he watched it.
-
Watched this earlier today. Just love it. Absolutely brilliant. Imagine these boys over at VP with a packed house as we turn over man Utd. Just got to get them over somehow
-
Isn’t it great. I have to confess to having had slight jealousy in the past as my own efforts in Uganda pale in comparison (Still plotting the SC Villa - AVFC link up if ever I have some spare time, ha, retirement maybe), but this is again lovely coverage of the Ghana Lions. Well done all who have supported.
-
It's fantastic. I tried similar in The Gambia. Nowhere near as successful as this but still had a great time doing it.

Lee Preece was a star with providing 100 flags and the members of H&V at that time were very generous indeed with their shirt donations. Also, Soccerprint (are they still going?) deserve a special mention for the production and donation of a set of t-shirts for the kids. If I remember correctly they were supposed to be for the adults but I messed up with the size request. There is a Blog site somewhere with all the details but no idea where it is or what the url was.

Great stuff Leeg. I’m also forever indebted to members of the parish for short donations my first trip to Ug in 2008. There is a lovely documentary funded by City University of our trip (about user involvement and empowerment in mental health, with a few clips on YouTube) but as there are a lot of inpatients in the full documentary I can’t share it unless in a more formal educational setting. It included our big game at the hospital that I think made national TV - in mixed vintage home Vs a very colourful array of mixed vintage away Villa strips). There were a heck of a lot of #7 Taylors running around Butabika National Referral Hospital that day I remember! Ridiculously things kept getting delayed until the game happened at the hottest time noon, fit in your own ‘mad* Ugandans and Englishman out in the midday sun’ joke here.
*i resonate with mad pride/was an inpatient myself prior to my career so not being insensitive here around language.
Will have to do it all again, certainly take a load of shirts out for the inpatients.
They have to wear hospital uniforms (which offended me initially but many barely have a thread to we-ar, so were actually appreacistive) but it was amusing someone had managed to keep hold of his villa polo shirt to proudly wear when the minister of health came to our big closing function at the end of the trip.
-
It would be beyond awesome if the team could go and visit them, maybe even pop up the road to Kumasi and play a friendly against Kotoko.
-
Puts everything into perspective...love it...x

I think I donated a few shirts for this, great cause, spreading the word and love of Villa.

The thread that keeps on giving!!
-
"He told me that his dad was Paul McGrath, and I shouted and said 'oh no - how can I believe this?' as he is the man I've been looking for since birth," the 20-year-old told BBC Sport Africa.
"I didn't believe it but he messaged me and told me that he was going to call with his dad in five minutes. I was still doubting until I saw Paul McGrath face to face, and Paul said 'Owusu - hi, how are you doing? I am very happy and honoured about what you are doing and saying about me'.
"I couldn't hold back my tears. They were tears of joy. Because my dream has already come true because I've talked to the greatest defender to ever grace the league. And yet he - Paul McGrath - was asking me about life in my village!"

I don't know-should be adopted as our club anthem

I know this is an old thread but I've just seen this on Twitter and it is really impressive.
