We have to take the game to Spurs. They blow hot and cold so we have a chance with the right attitude to get a positive result.
I'll go 2-1 to us - Ally and Jack
-
I'd love us to dick these Cockney wankers.
-
They have pace, which is a problem for us.
They are vulnerable at the back though.
I can see a few goals 2 2
-
When I was really young about 7 or 8 I vaguely remember liking spurs, when they got to cup finals with at Ardilles and Ricky Villa. That turned into a growing irrational or maybe rational absolute dislike for them for them as an adult.
They’ve always had an over inflated opinion of themselves and even now with their fancy new ground, there going through a relative golden period in their recent history and have still won f**k all.
Couple all of the above with the points and pyschological advantage a win would give us over our relegation rivals, I really hope with stuff this lot on Sunday.
I’m well up for it, bloody hope the players, an irrational 3-1 villa, Samatta hat trick. Boom.
-
We can make history in this one, apparently. First time we'll have won home games on every day of the week in a league and cup season.
Monday: Newcastle
Tuesday: Watford, Liverpool and Leicester
Wednesday: Wolves
Thursday: Norwich
Friday: Everton
Saturday: Brighton
Sunday:

It would also give such a boost to the team and fans if we can get all 3 points.
Need to make a lot of noise to help the team over the line.
-
i know its an early k/o but can we try and get the place rocking from the off !!!
-
They have too much space I'm afraid.
1-3
-
Hope we win - but I can see this ending 1-1
-
Very nervous about this game. I know it is only one game, and not against a relegation rival. But I really believe if we win it we will stay up, and if we lose it we will be relegated.

I reckon a draw is on the cards. Not sure losing would be as catastrophic as you fear but I share your nerves.
I’m going 2-2

D 1-1.
-
I'm slightly concerned we could be in for another storm, travelling up from London first thing in the morning so could really do without train delays.
-
2-1 Villa win :)

Forecast for the weekend is shocking, particularly Saturday. Coming up from South Wales for the game so if there's a decision to be made I hope it's made early.......

I was sure that that was what I'd seen somewhere. I thought it was through one of the official club media, but I can't seem to find it again.

any sort of win please Villa...there are loads of delusional Spurs fans down here and it would be nice to beat them.
oh and the vital win and 3 points before we smash ManCity at Wembley :)

All Spurs fans are delusional. It works sort of like an entry requirement.
3 points and no fresh injuries please Villa. I know it's a lot to ask.
-
We have to score first and then build from there
We have to stop giving teams a goal or 2 head start
Hoping for a 2-0 Luiz and late Konza goal to settle nerves
-
A win would do absolute wonders, it really would.
Please Villa, get that result that our rivals will be gutted about.
-
It is about time we beat these wank stains. I'm going for an optimistic 2-1 win.
-
We need a big win, this could be it
-
I think we will beat Spurs 2-1.

I'm travelling up from Cambridge on Sunday and not really looking forward to the journey in the reported weather for that day.
I'm sure the club have got everything in hand about any weather disruptions and will let the fans know pretty quickly.

The Birmingham forecast for Sunday is sun and showers.
-
Last win at VP against this shower was on 1st Jan 2008.
Their Moaning manager will park a double decker bus.
-
The last defeat for Mourinho at Villa Park was the last time he was here.
-
I'm slightly concerned we could be in for another storm, travelling up from London first thing in the morning so could really do without train delays.
Me too. I'm on the 0950, so plenty of time should it go pear-shaped, but quite a few mates cutting it much finer.
-
Good solid home win, this is the point Villa turn it around, we get the 3 points, we start charging up the table towards safety, this is the time.
Come on Villa, lets do this.
-
The last defeat for Mourinho at Villa Park was the last time he was here.
When was that? I thought Chelsea won at VP during our relegation season.
-
He was sacked in December and they didn't visit until April.
-
He won here in 14/15. Lambert was sacked 4 days later.
Only win here in six attempts across two spells at Chelsea.
I fancy us for a 2-1 win. The reality here is we're worrying over players like Son and Dele Alli (if he hasn't been banned) who may be pretty good players but they've scored two league away goals between them all season.
Leicester are a much better team than them this season and there's a reason they really struggle to win away games under two managers this season so we must go out on the pitch believing we can get a result. Hopefully that Leicester win is a turning point for our mentality in these types of games as we'll need to win two of them in the run in I think to be confident of staying up.
-
We need 3 wins from Manure Arse Chels Spurs Palace Blades if we don’t want to be going to the London Stadium needing something.
-
I think our home games are all very winnable as even if they are decent sides (like Spurs) they are unpredictable away and have poor performances in them.
We really need to start getting something from games like this now. D 2-2
-
They're off the back of beating Money City 2-0, we're off the back of losing 2-1 to poxy Bournemouth,
We need to all over this lot like tramps on hot chips Sunday if we're to get anything from these wankers.
-
Wonder if its gonna be a nightmare getting to Villa Park on sunday as another storm is expected so potentially a lot of trains might get cancelled
-

Seems like Saturday will be biblical again and Sunday will be wet but more manageable.
Praying for no disruptions from London.

Im hqading up from london tomorrow mornkng staying couple nights in brum for the game sunday. Hoping its going to be fine both days tbh but you never know with uk weather.
If tarins get cancelled it will be chaos sunday

With the storm last weekend there were no trains running at all on the Sunday. Only two an hour on cross city line anyway on that day.
-
Game plan as follows.
1. Get into them
2. Fuck them up

Gone for a spuds win. Not even gonna attempt to predict the result. I reckon we’ll score, we won’t get hammered, but they’ll score more than us. Not based on stats, other than our relative league positions. We could be good for a point, at a stretch, but I reckon they’ll have too much for us.

Nice stat from the BBC:
Villa have faced 441 shots this season, more than any other Premier League side. Their record of 17.6 shots faced per game is their highest in a single campaign in the competition since such records were started in the 2003-04 season.

But there are 3 teams who have conceded more shots on target than us and we have had more shots on target than 10 other teams which isn’t quite as worrying. Conceding too many shots is certainly a worry though, hopefully we will improve and quickly.

Based on the lamentable Bournemouth performance I think we’ll get ripped apart on Sunday.
I don’t think what happened two weeks ago will have much bearing tomorrow. The one consistent feature this season is our inconsistency.
-
Based on our last two home performances, we'll tear them a new one.
4-1, Samatta(2), Luiz, Grealish. Archibald for them.
-
Just listened to the 30 second clip of Danny Drinkwater talking about the Spurs game.
All I can hope is that he isn't giving the team talk.
Inspiring, it isn't.

I hope he isn't playing.

Mourinho generally doesn't do well against us at Villa Park (didn't he get his marching orders after the Villa Park game during his second spell at Chelsea?), so I've got this one down for the Grealish 'This is what you could have won' Show!
3-1 us.
-
1-1 Draw, although won't be backing that.
C'mon you Villa boys.......
-
Well the good news is Harry Kane is not available and Christian Eriksen has left Spurs. The not so good news is Son has scored in his last 4 games, under Jose, Dele Ali seems to have returned to form and Hugo Lloris has returned from injury. Don't know anything about their new signing, Steven Bergwijn, other than he is a Dutch international and scored a cracking goal on his debut against Man City.
As every time I tip us to win, we never do, so you'll be pleased to know I'm going for a 2-1 Spurs win.
UP THE VILLA

Of all the teams in the prem this is the one i hate the most. Deluded fanbase of self absorbed wankers whove won fuck all and still think theyre a top team.
Id love to send them away without any points, and god knows we could do with the 3, but i'll settle for a draw and "progress"
-
The missus will be at the game. She has yet to see us lose.

There are currently issues on the Cross City line into New St from the south looks like no trains running at present. Hopefully be sorted by the morning but worth checking first thing.

I agree the weather is very poor and not forecast to get any better, I think the Citeh game was called off about 10.30am/11.00am last Sunday

She’s never been before, has she?
Her illustrious attendances include Daz Bent's debut, the 2-each at Swansea, and the stripeyfilth in the cup.
-
My wife has never seen us do anything but win. 8 games 8 wins, including our only win away in Europe proper since Celta Vigo in Prague.
Ads: "Fancy a romantic weekend away in November?"
Mrs Ads: "Sounds lovely. How thoughtful"
Naturally I only told her when we got there that the last day would involve standing around drinking all day and then watching the Villa. The next year I managed to combine an Edinburgh break with Sunderland in the cup.
No idea why she wants a divorce.
-
Will you be bringing her tomorrow?
-
Come on Villa boys! We need to take advantage of playing at home today. With the results of relegation rivals going our way over the winter break, we need to be the ones who can start to open up meaningful gaps, starting today. With the Villa fans firmly behind the team let's get those 3 points! UTV!
-
Feeling optimistic, 2-1 to Villa. We need to be at it from the off though, no sluggish start please Villa.
-
Any chance it will be called off?
-
Any chance it will be called off?
It'd take a brave meteorological call right now to. It's damp out, a little breezy, that's all.
-
We need to try and get the first goal if we can. I know coming from behind shows really good character but we can't keep doing it. I'll go for a 2-2 draw. Grealish and Samatta with ours.

Road flooded by Witton Bridge.Buses diverted. Not looking good down there.

It looks like it'll stop raining around 1 o'clock, southerly winds topping out at around 20mph.

It seems that trains on that Walsall/Wolverhampton line aren't running at all today. Other trains are calling at Aston as normal.

Absolutely. I'm sat in my living room in Tokyo waiting for the match. I'll be furious if they call it off. Selfish twats.

Wellies at the ready by the sound of it. Agree they should have made a decision about the game earlier, though.

Remember... we all need to use public transport. Good luck.
-
Wind has dropped off but still frequent downpours in last few hours. Interesting Brookvale road area is closed off as a decent percentage of fans park round there so that will impact on things with reduced transport today.
Will just get a lift up to Star City and walk in from there I think.

We shouldn't be going into a game like this with a mindset that we need a 'leveller.' It's Villa v Tottenham for goodness sake, not Carlisle v Barcelona.
In any case, generally speaking a slippery pitch and a strong wind would ordinarily be to the advantage of the more skilful team, who are able to play short, quick passes. A strong wind would invariably be of little advantage to a team that might want to kick it long anyway.

Mings out 😭
-
Mings ill, Engels into the back 3.
Drinkwater in for Marvelous.
My optimism has taken a hit after that, Spurs more likely to score a couple now. Let's hope Jack can get enough of the ball in the final third as I can certainly see Mourinho putting two on him in key areas.
