Opposition and home or away for the first leg?
-
Judging by the way things seem to be panning out tonight I'd take Man Utd at their place first.
That'd be the tie I'd most fancy our chances in.
-
Villa v Man Utd, both legs finish 1-1 and we win on pens
Leicester v Man City, City win away 2-1 and at home 3-1.
Final
Villa 2 Man City 1.
-
City. Let’s knock them out in the semi so we can lift the trophy at Wembley😆

Now that's what you call positive thinking.

When's it on? Live and Kicking on Saturday at 09:23?
-
I remember how Burton got on against Man City last year in the Semifinals :-\ :'(

Tonight
-
I think it’s safe to say we will be the outsiders.
-
Yeah everyone else will want us!
-
We’re certainly the team the others will want for sure.
-
Man U, away 1st leg. Memories of 1970.
-
Yeah everyone else will want us!
Nice to be popular!
-
Man Utd away first will do me and I never thought I’d ever say that.
-
Man U v Citeh
Leicester v Us
That’s my guess
-
I think I'd rather have Man U away in the second leg. Just a feeling.
-
Man City, away first leg I reckon.
-
I know the draw is on soon, but I wonder if we're allowed to actually see it this time?
My guess is they'll keep the Manchester teams apart so we'll get Leicester.

If they do keep them apart (which they won’t) how will we get Leicester?

Oops!

Ssssshhhhh! I don't think anyone noticed :-)

Definite fix if they manage that !
-
We will get a bye. Just to piss the other midlands fans off.
-
I’ll be bloody annoyed if they make us play someone’s first team in the next round!
-
Villa v Man City, match postponed due to fog and rearranged for the same day as their next Champions League game, please.
-
Man City, hopefully they get invited to be earth's representives in the intergalactic cup, which is on Jupiter this year and clashes with the semi final dates.

Obviously that’s a possibility but don’t cry for them when we thrash their under 12s.
-
Oh no, the cursed ball number three!

Away to Leicester.

Do they warm the balls?

Leicester v Us
That’s my guess
*cough*
-
Hoefully it will be more exciting than the last time we played Leicester in the semis.
-
We owe them for the 2000 semi
-
Two legs and they are after a CL spot so they might rest some players. Who knows. It will be very tough indeed.
-
Comes to something when Man. United is probably the "easiest" semi final draw of the three on offer.
At least second leg is at VP. Very important we keep the tie in the balance and don't get thrashed like the Bolton semi final which left us too much to do at home.
-
Any tie would have been hard. Let's give it our best.
Sadly I think Deano is more likely to rest players than Rodgers but we'll see.
-
For me the best card was turned over - United can eat city they have a bit of an Indian sign over them and a 3 in the row cup final victories against united

🙌🙌🙌 we herby proclaim you as he who the The Scorpion King.
-
First leg is only 3 weeks away
-
Leicester did play about 4 reserves, but mostly first teamers
-

Bar Wes Morgan and Albrighton starting they were pretty much at full strength tonight so can't see it. Rodgers winning trophy in England will probably put him on Man. City shortlist when Pep leaves and they'll want to do that as a tribute to the late owner.
Very tough but I'd fancy us more over two legs than a one off final.
-
Man U v Citeh
Leicester v Us

You da bitch.
-
If you are going to win it, who cares who you play UTV
-
Was Rodgers in charge when we beat Liverpool in the semi-final?
-
Was Rodgers in charge when we beat Liverpool in the semi-final?
Fun fact, that was the last domestic cup game he lost. Helps if you manage Celtic though I suppose.
-
Was Rodgers in charge when we beat Liverpool in the semi-final?
Oh yes good point.
-
Was Rodgers in charge when we beat Liverpool in the semi-final?
Yep. If Sherwood can outwit him then we may as well start booking the hotels in London.
-
Good that the second leg is at home: if we're still in with a chance we can all cheer the team over the line.
The media narrative will be that Rodgers "is out for revenge". Just wait and see!
-

Yes if you are tactically outwitted by Tim but Dim you need take a good look in the mirror.
-
I wonder if those of us who could be arsed to go to Crewe and Brighton will be given priority for the away leg?
-
big headed fecks on foxes talk are so bloody confident , might do us good to be underdogs for this if we are still in it aftr 1st leg
-
I wonder if those of us who could be arsed to go to Crewe and Brighton will be given priority for the away leg?
Yes you will. It;s cup games. Thaey don't count towards league games though.
-
I wonder what the chances are of us minimiing the away support in order to increase our chances of beating them?
-
Norwich went there and got a draw in the league. We have to have the right attitude when we go there and have the right attitude to finish the job at Villa Park. And we have to take our chances when they come our way.
-
big headed fecks on foxes talk are so bloody confident , might do us good to be underdogs for this if we are still in it aftr 1st leg
Cup games, mate. Will be different to the league game. We will be ok this time.
-
I wonder what the chances are of us minimiing the away support in order to increase our chances of beating them?
We have to give them 4300 minimum. I'd somehow not give them the Lower North though and try and fit them elsewhere. A lot of our atmosphere comes from the lower North these days.
-

Let's see. We were poor against Leicester a couple of weeks ago, whereas they were in top form. Who knows where they might be in a few weeks time, particularly if they pick up a couple of injuries.
-
It’s 15% in the Carabao. If they apply that figure, it’ll be 6300 for them and 4800 for us, unless the police don’t like those numbers.
-
I'd fancy ManU to beat ManC and we have to win at least one tough match so Leicester is the one.
It's our year....
-
It’s 15% in the Carabao. If they apply that figure, it’ll be 6300 for them and 4800 for us, unless the police don’t like those numbers.
No it isn't. It's 10% of the available tickets.

Correct. 3200 minimum for us and 4200 minimum for them. Will be down to both clubs as to whether they give any more.
-
please villa keep their allocation to the minimum ..
-
Was Rodgers in charge when we beat Liverpool in the semi-final?
Yes and I am sure somebody in the media claimed that was the last domestic cup tie Rodgers lost in England or Scotland.
Leicester away first was the draw I was hoping for in the semis.
-
Leicester will be thinking they are in the final already. We are definitely the underdogs, we need to keep it tight at their place, and if we are still in the tie, VP will be rocking for the second leg.
-
Just spoke to a Leicester fan I know, we'll get 3200 tickets for the away leg 👍🏼

-
I think they are very heavily relient on vardy. Without him they will struggle. It will be tough but there is noway we are going to allow them to stuff us 4-1 at a packed villa park 2nd leg.
-
They won't be without Vardy.
-
We should sign Vardy and Maddison so as they can't play against us. Maybe go and get De Bruyne and Sterling from City as well to make sure we win the final.

Yes if you are tactically outwitted by Tim but Dim you need take a good look in the mirror.
I think he does that fairly often.
-
Ha ha.
-
Looking at their starting line up vrs Everton, without checking, I think there were 7 or 8 who started at Villa Park.
-
Yeah. It'll be the worst of both worlds for us. They'll play a full strength team against us in the first leg, then be knackered at the weekend when we need them to beat Southampton.
One silver lining is that their game after the second leg is Chelsea, so they may be tempted to rest one or two at Villa Park as that game could be vital to their top four ambitions.
-
I think we need to concentrate on the League.

The draw itself all looks legit.

No point in speculating on semi final team selection. Everyone will play their full strength teams.

Da Beeb have the home leg listed for Tue 28th Jan
Has this date been confirmed or could it still be moved to the Wed ?
I can't see anything on Pravda

It hasn't been decided yet.

Yes, you’re both right. Not sure where I got 15% from. Apologies

A bottom level Premier League club fighting for survival.

Away leg Wednesday 8th January 8pm
Home leg Tuesday 28th January 7:45pm
Both on Sky

That 2000 semi at their old shed was a night of misery. Trouble all over the place before kick off, Villa fans belting each other in the away end, shit match and I had to drive my pissed up mates home.
Merry Christmas
-
Looking forward to these Semi Final games.

Albrighton: I can’t wait. (For semi finals) I’ll be at Wembley either way! It’s a great draw for me personally, I’ll be asking for a few tickets I’m sure.” [lcfc] #avfc

There's always trouble away at Leicester, probably far more so than anywhere else we go, including Mordor or West Birmingham.
-
Last time we played there in this competition didn't Lee Hendrie go mental in the crowd after Gabby scored or something?
-
Last time we played them in the league cup was 2007. Lost 1-0 at home, goal scored by the legendary Matty Fryatt.
-
And fuck me Leicester City are very good indeed. Jamie Vardy is such a top striker
-
Wonder if Leicester will have the whole of the Witton end upper and lower.
-
Oh and what a surprise those of us who made the effort to go to Crewe and Brighton but can’t get tickets to League away games ignored for priority on the League Cup Semi Final. If Villa couldn’t have annoyed me more in the last few weeks with their on pitch performances, the ticket office now joining in and acting like a bunch of ******. Fuck off Villa just fuck off.
-
I don't think any away games, league or cup, should be weighted above the other. Just give priority to those who have been to the most away games in total. We used to always do this, not sure why we changed.
