Doug in for Conor is the right decision for today
-
was expecting Dougie and Marv in midfield
just wasnt sure Trez or CH
-
Would've kept Hourihane in tbh.
Interested to see what Trez instructions are today as he couldn't cope at Palace having to do lots of defending and got himself quickly sent off.
Maybe we'll see him play a bit more centrally.
Man. City for second league game running have Kun Aguero on the bench which surprises me, rare that happens.

-
Can't believe we have had to play against Pope and Jesus in the space of a month.
-
I've a fiver on at 25/1. They're ridiculous odds.
-
I like that Douglas and Trez have stepped in for this match.
Line up looks a great balance and these two especially can show what they bring to the party !
Trezeguet showed in opening match v sours that can get us up the pitch and offer a goal threat and Douglas gives us the bit extra with ball possession so can understand these 2.
I feel villa have goals in them that won't be a major worry as likely to score a goal or two but the issue if averaging a 2 goals conceded away from home is the problem
As our the full backs conceding crosses and chances.
On right side been a particular issue
Ederson, Cancelo, Fernandinho, Stones, Mendy, Gundogan, Silva, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Sterling, Jesus.
Those attacking players are something but defence can concede
A good villa performances all round please boys
Up the villa !
-
Can't believe we have had to play against Pope and Jesus in the space of a month.
Shame that Villa don't have an Ice Hockey team

-
Come on Villa boys!! dlbia!!
-
Don’t bring me down Villa. Avoid a heavy defeat please.
-
first time I can remember ever when the team is exactly the one I would go with
this might not be a good thing mind
-
I'm unreasonably optimistic about this.
-
I'm unreasonably optimistic about this.
As am I!
-
An entertaining game I think I’m which they will outscore us 4-2 is unfortunately what I’m feeling today!
-
Please don't do a Southampton.
-
I do think that as we get more settled and accustomed, we'll get more christmas tree like. Nakamba in his hole, McGinn and Grealish wider, fullbacks outside, Luiz, Trez and Wes in a triangle of sorts in the middle.
Positive line-up however it shapes up, tbh. Hourihane off the bench for a free kick winner. 'ave some.
-
4231?
-
(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EHzDKIyX4AExi7O?format=jpg&name=medium)
WHO ARE YA?!
-
4231?
Is that your GTC? Bit low!
-
I've a fiver on at 25/1. They're ridiculous odds.
Me too! Couldn't resist 25/1 on a 2 horse race.
I also bottled it a bit and had a fiver on the draw at 10/1!
-
I'm having a bad day. Woke up to a leaky roof, shower playing up and got absolutely soaked walking the dog. What could possibly make my day worse.....oh
-
I just stuck £10 on at 28-1 at William Hill. For people who don't understand betting and odds, that means I've just lost a tenner.
-
At least Aguero isn't starting.
-
Looks to me like a slight change in shape, with two more holding than with Conor in the side and McGinn slightly further forward.
-
At least Aguero isn't starting.
I know right, shame about the 11 who are.
-
I just stuck £10 on at 28-1 at William Hill. For people who don't understand betting and odds, that means I've just lost a tenner.
If Damo has a nibble, we're bollixed.
-
I'd just man mark De Bruyne. Everything goes through him.
-
Pep just said they(villa) should have more points but for the refs
right on Pep
-
Don’t bring me down Villa. Avoid a heavy defeat please.
This.
-
come on you Greens
-
That kit is horrific
-
4231?
Google Now graphic shows 4-1-4-1.
-
I just stuck £10 on at 28-1 at William Hill. For people who don't understand betting and odds, that means I've just lost a tenner.
Could have 35/1 on Betfair at the mo. The odds on Over 4.5 goals is almost evens - crazy.
-
That kit is horrific
I don’t mind it.
-
Come on you villa boys. Do us proud.
-
That kit is horrific
Has anyone got a pic?
-
I hope I don't run out of scorchios today as we're gonna batter this lot
-
Nice of them to play this game early on a Saturday, so I'll be in a shitty mood for almost the whole of the weekend.
-
shit corner
-
Watching the game (god, why?) but might have to stay off the match thread today for the good of my health
Win lose or draw - Up the Villa!
-
What was that corner, fuck sake.
-
fuck
that was close
-
City miss their first chance
-
What was that corner, fuck sake.
shocking
get the fucker in the box ... it was a waste
-
Fuck that was close
-
Jesus, this is going to be a long afternoon.
-
this is why you dont waste corners Villa
-
de bryne down not serious thou shame
-
Jesus, this is going to be a long afternoon.
Things Mings said today for 200
-
After a bright 30 seconds we haven’t touched the ball!
-
is trez playing
oh yes there he is
-
FFS Marvelous
-
well done Targett
-
get a result today and thats the best kit ever
-
We look so nervous and Sterling looks like he can walk through our defence at Will.
-
Over or under 25% possession today?
-
We’re doing ok. Unfortunately Man City aren’t having an off day.
-
needed someone on the right wing then
-
Listening on the radio. Can only hear the Villa fans. No wonder it's called the Emptyhad!
As others have said, it's going to be a long afternoon...
-
Rubbish from Trezeguet then.
-
we are having a spell
-
Good run by Jack. Wrong pass
-
come on Villa
-
Gotta keep bombing down this right side.
-
Good attacking move
-
Lovely break, corner.
-
Come on you Villa boys
-
Trezeguet a lazy defensive player, poorly tracks back and regularly loses man. He’s gonna cost us sterling over that side too
-
Poor corner
-
man city doing the odd wrong ball too
keep it up the Greens
-
We can't take corners.
-
We’re playing really well actually. Apart from our shit set pieces.
-
Trezeguet a lazy defensive player, poorly tracks back and regularly loses man. He’s gonna cost us sterling over that side too
Good move Deano, he’s swapped him and jack already
-
fuck off City and VAR
never
-
VAR turns down their penalty appeal
-
VAR going to fuck us up again?
-
Not in a million years
-
first heaton save
-
Wesley seems to be just standing still waving his arms
-
So close!!
-
pen come on
-
We have a pen claim going to VAR
-
good save from their goalie
well done SJM
-
Only a corner
-
And a poor one at that
-
another shit set piece
-
And a poor one at that
Again!
-
Sloppy from the corner again
-
Need to sort these corners out, wasted every single one so far.
-
3 corners
all Absolute shit
-
1/4 through
0 0
-
We're in this game, not being overwhelmed
-
Wes has to make the ball stick.
-
I just stuck £10 on at 28-1 at William Hill. For people who don't understand betting and odds, that means I've just lost a tenner.
I bet you wouldn’t get. 28-1 now!
-
SJM
legend
-
Come on Targett. How's he allowed his man to recover that, bloody hell.
-
Super by John McGinn
-
Doing ok so far. I like the green kit. There I've said it.
-
trez did well then and then...shit
-
Doing ok so far. I like the green kit. There I've said it.
its grown on me
-
Doing ok so far. I like the green kit. There I've said it.
From a far it looks okay..
-
I like the kit, nice detail
-
Doing ok so far. I like the green kit. There I've said it.
I don’t looks like an underground tube map.
-
Davis should have started
-
If I was Dean, I’d get Wesley on ASAP!!
-
We’re under a lot of pressure but we’re not cracking under it and it’s making city less fluid. We’ve done well so far.
-
I know we're against a world class side but we really need to do slightly better in possession. Ball to feet just not happening.
-
Doing ok so far. I like the green kit. There I've said it.
I don’t looks like an underground tube map.
Yes I did wonder why it had a tube map on it when I first saw it.
-
Doing ok so far. I like the green kit. There I've said it.
We're unbeaten in it.
-
wesley aint been that good but Jesus aint much better
-
When we do get the ball in their half we just give it away too easy.
-
Really can’t believe that our game plan is to defend this deep and lump it up to Wesley
-
Close again
-
handball
-
trez aint got a good shot
-
Really can’t believe that our game plan is to defend this deep and lump it up to Wesley
I don't think it is. Saw Smith remonstrating with Jack to get further up earlier. Players allowing themselves to get pegged back and playing deep.
-
Ooooh so close after getting a dodgy decision in our favour
-
Jack booked
-
Taken one for the team there Jack.
-
The ref is a ****
-
that trez chance falls to connor and its 1 0
nees to practice more his shooting
-
Really can’t believe that our game plan is to defend this deep and lump it up to Wesley
I don’t think it is. But it’s becoming that way the longer it goes. But my guess is also that the longer it goes the more Man City will open up at the back and like Wolves did maybe we catch them and score on the break. It’s a very dangerous game to play especially when you have a CF who cannot retain possession.
-
That's twp non-free kicks this short sighted twat of a ref has given, one for each team. Except JAck gets a yellow for his.
-
Shocking decision. Never a foul or a yellow
-
Marvelous having a mare today.
-
Marvelous having a mare today.
Yeah.. not doing too well. Tough job though.
-
Shocking decision. Never a foul or a yellow
Come on. He's made a grab for his shoulder twice. If that was the other way around we'd be screaming for the foul.
-
The black and green kit was awful then, and it's awful now.
No amount of years can dull the crapness of the Müller kits.
-
Shocking decision. Never a foul or a yellow
Come on. He's made a grab for his shoulder twice. If that was the other way around we'd be screaming for the foul.
Never grabbed him?
-
Shocking decision. Never a foul or a yellow
Come on. He's made a grab for his shoulder twice. If that was the other way around we'd be screaming for the foul.
He hardly brushed him. Think we'll have to agree to disagree
-
wesley aint been that good but Jesus aint much better
Thanks God.
-
If that's a foul then football has finally become a 100% non-contact sport.
-
Jack slow? He fucking ran up sterling
-
never a foul by jack
-
To be fair, more of a foul than the one on McGinn.
-
The only time you hear the Citeh fans is when they moan about time wasting, awful support.
-
To be fair, more of a foul than the one on McGinn.
haha, de Bruyne’s face afterward..
-
Guilbert does well there.
-
Be nice to see Keinan get a few more mins than the usual last 5
-
They miss a sitter
-
thats their sitter missed
-
We had no ambition to attack that corner😟
-
phew..
-
Big let off
-
How didn't they put that away?
-
Thank the Lord. Hold on til HT Villa...
-
Wes just isn’t aggressive and is letting their CB’s have free headers. He’s just so passive
-
ffs trez head the fucker
-
The fuck was that from Trez.
-
No tracking or defending from trez again, we’ve put too much pressure on Freddie v Sterling
-
Trez should have done better there. Good counter though
-
Half time.
-
Can anyone tell me what the point of Trezeguet is?
-
half time
not sure about Trez
-
That'll do.
-
Man City are just so quick without the ball. It’s massively impressive. But we are just about still in it
-
Trezeguet having a mare.
-
Can anyone tell me what the point of Trezeguet is?
Nope. Rubbish, done absolutely nothing since he's been here. Not even as good as El Ghazi.
-
Good half. Trez and Wes need to step up or get hooked
-
I've just about had enough of Wesley. Much rather have a nippy striker with a sense of movement.
-
Trez not sharp enough, needs to be talked to, otherwise we're doing okay
-
Trezeguet having a mare.
For me he’s one of those players you buy as a stepping stone to someone much better. He’s a decent player not PL quality in my opinion. At least not PL quality if we are to challenge further up the table.
-
I've not seen much from Trezeguet in any game this season. AEG is erratic and infuriating at times but at least he gets the odd goal and assist. I'm really struggling to see what Trez contributes.
-
We’ve played ok, defended well yet they’ve missed 2 sitters, Wes doing bugger all to relieve any pressure, ball bounces of him like the side of a lamp post.
-
Defensively we are pretty good.
We are obviously being pegged back because of the quality of the opposition, not because of our own negativity, which has been the case many times over the years.
But, why are so many of our lot seemingly shit scared when we do manage to get possession?
For me, Davis should be on for Wesley.
-
Not too bad so far against one of the best sides in Europe. We’ve made some poor decisions in attacking positions but it’s understandable when we’ve spent so much time defending. We’ve done a
Good enough job that they’ve started to misplace passes and look a bit under pressure themselves. Wes and Trez disappointing so far. If Wes is going to be a non scoring pivot I’d probably rather have Davis on.
-
We're holding our own. Just over 12 months ago we couldn't do that against Sheffield United.
-
Not impressed with Trez at all. 2nd week in a row I haven't been impressed with Wes either. I would rather see Hourihane and a new striker. Shame Abraham had to go back to Chelsea!
-
Wes even looks lazy. If he is not (which i believe) he is clearly not good enough.
-
Was the Grealish yellow for the challenge or for complaining? De Bruyne got nothing for full on screaming at the referee.
Also Steve Mcmanaman, please please go join your mate Robbie in Australia you utter plank.
-
Not impressed with Trez at all. 2nd week in a row I haven't been impressed with Wes either. I would rather see Hourihane and a new striker. Shame Abraham had to go back to Chelsea!
Agree with all above 100%, we need a worldie quality on win January, not just a run of the mill £25 M one. Trez and Wesley doing too much jogging compared with others putting a great shift in
-
Davis on for Wes please.
-
The Wesley saga goes on!
-
Also Steve Mcmanaman, please please go join your mate Robbie in Australia you utter plank.
Really getting on my tits.
Decent defending by Villa but we are being hampered by Wesley. In this type of game he needs to put himself about, not stand there bemoaning his lack of opportunities.
-
Not impressed with Trez at all. 2nd week in a row I haven't been impressed with Wes either. I would rather see Hourihane and a new striker. Shame Abraham had to go back to Chelsea!
shame they got a transfer ban or he would be at Villa
-
I wish Wes would get into the penalty area after he lays the ball off instead of dithering about.
-
Not impressed with Trez at all. 2nd week in a row I haven't been impressed with Wes either. I would rather see Hourihane and a new striker. Shame Abraham had to go back to Chelsea!
shame they got a transfer ban or he would be at Villa
Don't think so. Once Lampard was appointed, he was never getting sold either way. Frank knew exactly how good he was.
-
It’s disappointing that we have left ourselves only 45 min to score 10. It’s a tall order but I think we can still do it.
-
Its Premier league fun day here with lots of plastic fans being real dicks.
You would never know Villa are playing.
-
One down after 20 secs
-
Now, that WAS shit
-
wtf
-
Just what we needed poor by Mi gs and Heaton
-
Oh well.
-
Slow coming out sloppy, we went to sleep
-
dont mind beaten by a worldie but not a shittie
-
That did not take long.
-
Mings should not be beaten in the air by a player that’s about a foot shorter than him. V poor.
-
Need to hold it together now
-
Utter, utter shit by Mings then.
-
It won;t be a popular view but I think Mings has a touch of the ELphick's about him, always got a mistake in him and it often costs a goal.
-
I love Mings but fuck me he costs us some goals.
-
Jack needs to calm down a touch.
-
Trezeguet has earned his start today. Putting himself about way more than El Ghazi. Just need some end product now.
-
Wesley is now on the verge of losing any patience that we have with him, if it hasn’t already gone.
-
What a shit goal to concede https://twitter.com/btsportfootball/status/1188072058015637508
-
I guess that ManCity ha a bit of a talking to at halftime.
Can someone give Wesley a shout of what he should do?
-
Southgate in attendance for our second game in a row and Mings has dropped a clanger in both now.
-
Wesley is now on the verge of losing any patience that we have with him, if it hasn’t already gone.
Is he?
-
Every single time we get possession we just hand it back immediately and cheaply.
-
We’ve dropped off the effort levels here.
-
This is getting very uncomfortable
-
Somehow they don't make it 2
-
what happened then
-
This could get ugly.
-
Sterling is phenomenal.
-
Clearance of the century
-
ffs villa pass the ball to each other
-
Wow.
-
Fucking hell what are we playing at. Great recovery by Mings
-
Fuck me. What are we doing though.
-
Amazing
-
We are our own worst enemies at times.
-
They appeal for every little thing
-
Note to commentators - blocking a ball on the line doesn't atone for an earlier error leading to a goal.
-
get el ghazi and kieran on
-
Wesley needs to get his shit together. Grealish busting a gut down the left, whilst he meanders forward about 20 yards behind him.
Not good enough! Stop the whinging and show some effort!
-
Southgate in attendance for our second game in a row and Mings has dropped a clanger in both now.
clanger? he was just outjumped. It happens
-
change my mind
get conor on - our set pieces are shite
-
Mings wasn't strong enough in that challenge for their goal - he should have more presence than that.
-
Jesus our set pieces are awful
-
Wesley needs to get his shit together. Grealish busting a gut down the left, whilst he meanders forward about 20 yards behind him.
Not good enough! Stop the whinging and show some effort!
I noticed that too. The guy is jogging, trailing the play. What kind of strikers instinct is that?!
-
Jesus our set pieces are awful
Really poor today. El Ghazi and Hourihane could help.
-
Southgate in attendance for our second game in a row and Mings has dropped a clanger in both now.
clanger? he was just outjumped. It happens
It SHOULDN’T happen. A route one ball from their keeper should be bread and butter for our now international defender.
-
We are very slow in our build-up play.
-
Do we train on freekicks and corners? Very poor.
-
Wesley needs to get his shit together. Grealish busting a gut down the left, whilst he meanders forward about 20 yards behind him.
Not good enough! Stop the whinging and show some effort!
Too right, fans don't mind if you make an effort, and too many times he just isnt
-
Chance with Wes doing well
-
We're over reliant on Grealish doing something here. Man city have quality all over.
-
Very sloppy this half. Was that Engels or Gulibert who gave the ball away for the big chance? Like he did twice at Arsenal? they are hardly Teale/McGrath or Mellberg /Laursen these two CBs.
-
People complaining about Wes, clearly he is better ball in ground.
-
Better
-
Better from Wesley.
-
Very sloppy this half. Was that Engels or Gulibert who gave the ball away for the big chance? Like he did twice at Arsenal? they are hardly Teale/McGrath or Mellberg /Laursen these two CBs.
Ffs! People will make mistakes
-
More assertive now, still think we can get a point from this
-
Blimey they're fans are quiet - you can hear Mings over them.
-
Honestly man c are very very good today
-
2-0
-
Completely fed up with Wesley now, he's got no pace and jogs around like an immobile wardrobe.
-
Not enough pressure on the Man City players when they have the ball but some of the individual criticism on here is laughable.
-
Oh ffs
-
If Sterling is offside there he is interfering with Heaton's line of sight and it should be ruled out.
-
Just need to shut up shop now. Keep the goal difference down.
Game over against this lot.
-
VAR
-
Off
-
Sigh...that’s all folks.
-
VAR looking at it
-
Too fucking easy.
-
got to be disallowed
-
Surely that's going to be disallowed, Stirling is well offside and is directly between the ball and keeper.
-
goal given 2-0
-
ffs
-
There’s a fucking suprise
-
Has to be offside
-
And robbed by VAR yet again
-
WHAAAT
-
VAR works for you as well as against - but not now.
-
Should be ruled out
-
If Sterling is offside there he is interfering with Heaton's line of sight and it should be ruled out.
Definitely
-
cheating
-
keepers view to the ball
-
if that was the other way guaranteed they'd disallow it for interference.
-
get trez off now ffs
it aint working
-
Fuck VAR
-
And robbed by VAR yet again
No fucking surprise there then
-
Var is shit, he was obscuring the GK view and was off side?
-
pathetic decision.
-
Yep, another one that looks like we’ve been fucked over.
-
One day in our distant future VAR will go in our favour.
-
Still waiting for Heaton to make some match or point saving displays.
-
Completely fed up with Wesley now, he's got no pace and jogs around like an immobile wardrobe.
Now? From day signed
-
Pure bollocks.
-
Sky person reckons they were only looking if it touched him, not whether he was interfering with play. But if it was that close to him, then he was interfering as Heaton wouldn’t be able to commit either way.
-
If that was our goal, it would have been disallowed.
-
We could be quite decent if we actual had a quality striker.
-
3-0
-
ffs 3 0
-
Gonna get embarrassing now
-
Is anyone surprised? Our mindset seems to be to fear the big sides.
-
I think the first thing they look at on VAR is who will suffer by the decision. If it's Villa the decision is straightforward.
-
One day in our distant future VAR will go in our favour.
In a galaxy far far away
-
So David Silva wheels away claiming it as his goal and VAR decides he didn't touch it.
What a load of unfathomable shite.
-
lets hope this aint 5 now
-
Completely fed up with Wesley now, he's got no pace and jogs around like an immobile wardrobe.
Now? From day signed
What are you talking about? You literally just turn up on match threads to have a go at people who have given their opinion on Wesley. Very odd behaviour.
-
There we are. All completely undone.
-
We could be quite decent if we actual had a quality striker.
Yep. January can’t come quickly enough. Kodjia or Davis aren’t the answer either.
-
Pathetic defending.
-
Still waiting for Heaton to make some match or point saving displays.
Yep I've been disappointed in him as well, nowhere near as good as I'd hoped and no better than Steer if you ask me. Fallen apart now - get Trez and Wesley off and Davis and CH on.
-
Fuck me man
-
So is spending most of your time moaning but it doesn't stop you.
-
too fucking late changing it now
-
This could get embarrassing now.
-
It’s ruining the game.
-
I don't think we've done ourselves justice today. I know it's City away, but we're better than this.
-
I’m completely at a loss with VAR.
-
KD on for Wes.
-
Shocker from Wesley, he can piss right off, lazy bastard.
-
Wtf is Heaton doing. Honestly, you're a goalkeeper man. You're expected to fucking MOVE when the opposition attacks
-
House of cards, we've been undone by a terrible defensive error in the first, outrageous decision for the 2nd, the rest is history.
-
All a bit predictable now. How many I wonder.
-
Shocker from Wesley, he can piss right off, lazy bastard.
Yeah. Utter shite today.
-
The fear needs to go. I think we are scared to play. Against Liverpool we are going to be slaughtered
-
Heaton has largely been very average.
-
Shocker from Wesley, he can piss right off, lazy bastard.
That's the spirit
-
I think damage limitation is in order now. Smith wont do it though.
-
Smith pisses me off. We needed that forward change when we were still in the game at 1-0, not when we're 3-0 down.
-
The fear needs to go. I think we are scared to play. Against Liverpool we are going to be slaughtered
I don't think we're scared to play. I think our shape is wrong, yet again, and ergo we're playing very poorly.
-
Kienan looked better than Wes
-
Shocker from Wesley, he can piss right off, lazy bastard.
That's the spirit
Is he wrong?
-
Kieran looked better than Wes
Done more in 2 minutes.
-
Shocker from Wesley, he can piss right off, lazy bastard.
That's the spirit
You must be watching a different game Edvard. He’s been even more fucking useless than normal today! All we ask for is effort and a bit of running - he’s done neither.
-
What is the fucking point of only starting to use your bench when the game is completely out of sight?
-
Looking at the positives... never play in the shirts again
-
What’s been most disappointing for me, is what appears to be a complete lack of belief when we have been in possession.
There is no disgrace in losing to one of the best teams in Europe, but when you finally get the ball, show some bloody bravery to do something with it, instead of looking shit scared.
-
The fear needs to go. I think we are scared to play. Against Liverpool we are going to be slaughtered
I don't think we're scared to play. I think our shape is wrong, yet again, and ergo we're playing very poorly.
Fair enough. I am at work following on the beeb and this thread. Below 5 will feel like a victory today
-
The fear needs to go. I think we are scared to play. Against Liverpool we are going to be slaughtered
Nonsense. We have been in this game until the goals. One of which should have been disallowed. Again decisions going against all over the pitch. We will beat Liverpool.
-
The fear needs to go. I think we are scared to play. Against Liverpool we are going to be slaughtered
I think we are in the process of being slaughtered here.
-
How are we scared to play? did well first half, did well for the most part against Spurs and Arsenal, problem seems to be more that how we are playing is tiring the players, mentally and physically which is why most of the goals we concede, and mistakes we make, are in the second half.
-
The fear needs to go. I think we are scared to play. Against Liverpool we are going to be slaughtered
I don't think we're scared to play. I think our shape is wrong, yet again, and ergo we're playing very poorly.
I think we're against a team that's better than us who, into the bargain, have got the rub of the green. Sometimes it's not really anyone's fault.
-
Shocker from Wesley, he can piss right off, lazy bastard.
That's the spirit
You must be watching a different game Edvard. He’s been even more fucking useless than normal today! All we ask for is effort and a bit of running - he’s done neither.
Yeah come bash him. Agreed. Fucking hate him. If i spot him i will spit
-
The fear needs to go. I think we are scared to play. Against Liverpool we are going to be slaughtered
Nonsense. We have been in this game until the goals. One of which should have been disallowed. Again decisions going against all over the pitch. We will beat Liverpool.
That's a bold statement!
-
I’m still in disbelief that the second goal stood.
I don’t understand this game anymore.
-
If I hear Steve McManaman tut again he's going in the back of a van.
-

How I'm seing this game (edit: fuck this phone and swipe)

See my other reply. I’m at work so only on beeb feed and here. And the pre match interviews where it seemed the players were not looking forward to next fixtures
-

every time we play a top 6 side we play with fear and are scared of them
I know it’s only 3 times this season so far but it just carries on from the last time we were here
No belief
-
Just seen replay of the goal - surely Sterling is offside and in Heaton's line of view? Straws and clutching I know
-
Look on the bright side by the end of next weekend we will have played four of the traditional top six. Only 8 more fixtures to go.
-
Just seen replay of the goal - surely Sterling is offside and in Heaton's line of view? Straws and clutching I know
It’s a puzzling decision. He was off the whole way through and impeded Heatons line of sight. It seems a simple no-goal..
-
It's no disgrace to losing to Man City, but we've brought most of it on ourselves through mistakes and being a bit timid when we have the ball.
-
So lads and lasses, fear or not am I not missing anything working in the pissing rain then? To be honest, I wasn’t expecting a win either

Kill him!
-
As a side we are still getting accustomed to this level and the fact that if we give the ball away as much as we do to sides not even if Man City’s quality we will get punished. We saw that against Spurs, Arsenal and of course now today. We’ve done better of late but it’s something that will come with experience and frankly better players. A number of our players will over the course of the season eliminate themselves from future Villa PL squads. That’s for them to prove in the next number of months that they can survive and adapt at this level. Today and next week are massive tests for any side let alone one promoted in the manner we came up. We have to accept, learn and move on.
-

Agreed that and the offside goal.
-
thoufght he was gonna get a yellow then
-
I'd get Jack off, game is gone and last thing we need is him sent off
-
Just seen replay of the goal - surely Sterling is offside and in Heaton's line of view? Straws and clutching I know
They've decided that Silva didn't touch it, despite Silva claiming the goal and all Man City players crediting Silva with the goal.
Its utter bollocks. Don't get me wrong, the massive likelihood is we would have lost the game anyway, but how can anyone look at that with any sort of common sense and come to that decision?
-
I'd get Jack off, game is gone and last thing we need is him sent off
Agreed. Get Conor on.
-
Have we been on the right side of any VAR decisions this season?
-

It would have been had it been ours.
-

Nothing mate.
-
Have we been on the right side of any VAR decisions this season?
No
-
Unusually poor first touch by Jack. What are they chanting at him - you're just a shit....?
-
How can it possibly be that neither of the Man City players were offside, when they were both clearly "interfering with play".
-
we scored 3 late ones against sheff utd
come on villa its possible
-
Have we been on the right side of any VAR decisions this season?
None.
-
Have we been on the right side of any VAR decisions this season?
Villa Are Robbed.
-

Nothing mate.
Cheers pal. Probably won’t bother with motd either.
-
A lot of nervousness in the team today.
Heaton, Mings and Engels poor. McGinn seems out of position, and Wesley has just had his standard, petulant, effortless performance.
Positives - Guilbert has fared well against arguably the best winger in Europe, and Trezeguet hasn’t let the team down today.
-
It's no disgrace to losing to Man City, but we've brought most of it on ourselves through mistakes and being a bit timid when we have the ball.
Agreed that and the offside goal.
Th massively frustrating thing is to give away their first goal to a speculative punt up field. Mings hugely at fault for getting beat in the air by a player a foot shorter.
-
Unusually poor first touch by Jack. What are they chanting at him - you're just a shit....?
Ah, because all of these Man City players were beating down the door to sign for them before the sheikh oil win.
-
We've conceded 9 goals so far against the 'big 6', all scored in the second half.
-
Problem is at 1-0 you still have a chance, go 2 down to the likes of Man City and it must seem like you've got Everest to climb to get back and of course a crazy decision to boot.
-
we scored 3 late ones against sheff utd
come on villa its possible
Get Green on
-
Unusually poor first touch by Jack. What are they chanting at him - you're just a shit....?
Ah, because all of these Man City players were beating down the door to sign for them before the sheikh oil win.
Let’s all buy electric cars, citeh will crumble!
-
Just seen replay of the goal - surely Sterling is offside and in Heaton's line of view? Straws and clutching I know
He was offside if not from the first touch then from the second.
-
We've conceded 9 goals so far against the 'big 6', all scored in the second half.
The midfield shape just doesn't work after 60 minutes in these types of games.
-
Tyrone wearing armband for the first time?
-
Given Citeh's overall quality, this was a shot to nothing.9
But it's a real pisser to concede so easily after ht through a missed header and then get nothing from VAR for their 2nd.
Need to keep it at 3-0 (or better), learn our lessons from the performance - individually and collectively and move on to the next game.
-
Have we been on the right side of any VAR decisions this season?
Villa Are Robbed.
VILLA AGAIN ROBBED
-
Unusually poor first touch by Jack. What are they chanting at him - you're just a shit....?
Joey Barton I think
-
What a ridiculous chant.
-
Yes, what's that comparison supposed to mean?
-
City player sent off
-
Unusually poor first touch by Jack. What are they chanting at him - you're just a shit....?
Joey Barton I think
Would make more sense if it was Phil Foden.
-
Davis could be some player
-
Now we are truly fucked. Red card to them. Another loss against ten men coming up.
-
Unusually poor first touch by Jack. What are they chanting at him - you're just a shit....?
Joey Barton I think
Would make more sense if it was Phil Foden.
Yes it would, I expect it is that.
-
They go down to 10 - now we're really in trouble
-
City player sent off
Hopefully suspended in the League Cup rather than against Southampton in the league?
-
Another game we don't win against 10, Smith out.
-
Stepped out of the room for a minute - what was the sending off for?
-
What a twit getting himself sent off.
-
Davis shows more in 10 minutes than Wes did for 70.
-
Another game we don't win against 10
It's not over yet. BEE LEAVE.
-
Any positives at all today ?
-
Stepped out of the room for a minute - what was the sending off for?
Pulled Keinan down on the break
-
Stepped out of the room for a minute - what was the sending off for?
Second yellow for Fernandino for bringing down Davis from behind
-
Any positives at all today ?
I thought Guilbert did pretty well against Sterling considering Trezeguet offers nothing in defense..
-
Bottom half team goes to Champions and lose 3-0. Big shock. We’ve done ok, actually played fairly well first half. Bit of a repeat of the Tottenham game really.
-
Love the way the ball sticks to Davis. surely he's earned a start? Or Wesley has earned it for him?
-
Thanks folks
Headline in the Meaning Evil later? "10-man City Smash Awful Villa"
Writes itself.
-
Stepped out of the room for a minute - what was the sending off for?
Second yellow for dragging back Marvelous.
Sure?
-
Any positives at all today ?
I think we've played well for large parts of the game. First goal Mings should have beat Jesus to the header for Sterling, and the second goal was offside and VAR can eat shit. We've been outscored, but little else.
-
Nearly 4-0, Mings and Heaton nearly mess up
-
Even Beglin pointed out that Davis has done more than Wesley.
-
Any positives at all today ?
Plenty for me. Easily kept them at bay 1st half.
Gave away a really really soft goal 20 seconds into second half, and VAR bullshit later the game was over.
-
Good noise from the Villa fans, well done.
-
Just a question. Does a red for two yellows reset the yellow card count ie: where five yellows would ordinarily mean a ban ? Just wondered if this is a tactical ref to get a ban v Southampton in the LC rather than carry the card count into more crucial games ??
-
It’s all a. It of a shame really because I thought we were doing well. Hope it doesn’t dent confidence
-
Any positives at all today ?
Very good first half, error and bad decision sunk us in the 2nd, seen nothing that would say Man City have been 3 goals better than us today.
-
That first goal was the killer, straight after kick off and such a shit goal to concede.
We hit the post.
-
kienan will never score :)
-
Fuck SJM off the post
-
Davis to start against Liverpool.
-
Sigh, no luck, Davis should have scored then we hit the post from the rebound.
-
kienan will never score :)
In other startling news, bears do shit in the woods.
/baddumtish
-
Hit the post
-
Keinan Davis has done more in a cameo spell than Wes did all game.
-
So fucking close. We still have no luck.
-
Or away support has been outstanding again. Still singing more than Citeh.
-
So close to a consolation!
-
I note with interest that according to BBC Stats, we have committed 5 fouls compared to Citeh's 10.
Quite remarkable, as Alan Partridge or David Coleman might have intoned.
-
Davis to start against Liverpool.
I bet he sticks with Wes.
-
£51 a ticket to see your team, Champions of England, winning 3-0 and you all piss off before the final whistle.
-
Ah well, pretty much as expected. Could have been worse.
-
Oh well. Not embarrassed but annoyed we couldn't score or keep it to 2-0.
That's the first nightmare over at least.
-
Stepped out of the room for a minute - what was the sending off for?
Second yellow for dragging back Marvelous.
Sure?
Michael Brown seemed to think so for the BBC.
-
kienan will never score :)
[/quote
He has shown more than Wes in a few minutes.
-
We never do well against 10 men.
-
Davis to start against Liverpool.
I bet he sticks with Wes.
So do I but surely Davis has earned a start. Yes his scoring record could improve but he did more than Wesley did the whole time he was on.
-
To be fair we have kept going until the end
