Sasa Circic ended his career at Palace owing to what was happening back home. A maverick, headcase and ultimate failure at VP but a talent no doubt. On reflection, maybe the timing wasn't right for players like Savo and Sasa as it appears the move to the UK was too much and as we learned from JPA, there was little to support players making a leap from a politically unstable nation to the west.

.....,making a leap from a politically unstable nation to the west.
If it was now He would be making the leap from a stable nation to one which is anything but in a few months time.
-
Was reading Brian Little's book the other week, he had interesting little snippet on the mad world of Sasa....says Jim Walker phoned him up one night to say Sasa had gone down to London to have operation on his nose and would be out for two months!
Very high maintenance player to manage I think. He did praise Savo a lot though and said the club should've done much more to help him settle in England.

*Curcic
Very interesting article

From outstandingly talented player at Bolton to mad as a box of frogs in a few short years.
-
Didn't he enter (ooh-errr!) the porn industry?
-
Thought that was Postma, or Bosnich before him. Wrong goalies by all accounts, Gregory once quipped that Michael Oakes had a fine tree trunk of his own.
-
Postma was the one who had a video leaked of his girlfriend inserting something into his rear end whilst engaged in bedroom activities.
-
Curcic was in Big Brother wasn’t he?
-
All i know is that his 'breakdown' or whatever it was that happened was probably the single biggest disappointment i can remember from a player. He could have been magnificent, his talent was 'Gascoigne-esc', ironically.
-
He was a player that I can remember hoping that we would sign before we were even linked to him. Somehow it just felt right. I think it was because he had played with Milosevic at Partizan, and we obviously must have needed an attacking midfielder. I quickly learnt not to get too invested in such players, as A) it’s unlikely the club sign them, and B) it unlikely they will work out.

Said it before but his debut is still one of my favourites. He was absolutely brilliant to watch that day.

As regards the casanova bit he was a regular back in Miss Moneypennys back in the day and one female who he wooed told me how he had one cupboard in the kitchen full of Bird's Custard. He told her he loved it. He definitely danced to a slightly different tune to everyone else
