Welcome back to Villa Park everyone and to PL football at the best stadium in the land

-
Still no Freddie which I find very surprising given his excellent pre season and no Marvellous. It's possible early on Dean is going with Elmo/Trezeguet and Taylor/AEG chemistry before slowly integrating the new players

Who would you drop for them, though?
-
With Luiz an out and out DM would’ve like at least one more adventurous full back.
Fitness must be an issue with Marvellous but then he did go on strike....
-
Still no Freddie which I find very surprising given his excellent pre season and no Marvellous
Who would you drop for them, though?
Taylor, with Targett taking his place and Guilbert replacing Targett, and Lansbury.
-

I'm surprised Marvelous doesn't make the bench ahead of Lansbury.
-
I don't have a problem with that team actually. Elmo and Taylor put in decent shifts at Spurs and don't deserve dropping. It also keeps the same back four together.
-

Not really a case of dropping but given Elmo played all summer and Freddie played so well in the summer that would be an obvious one you'd have thought. And on the bench Marvellous for Lansbury. But I do know that Dean likes Lansbury a lot. In any case, both Elmo and Taylor actually did ok last week.
-
Good to see Dougie Lou make his full debut. That's at least the midfield we all wanted.
-
Nakamba must be to do with fitness played in Afcon and no pre season. Really don’t understand Guilbert not even in the squad though.
-
Win please Villa.
-
So not even benched are the two goalies out in the cold, Chester and House (both injured), Guilbert, Nakamba and Kodjia (injured). I feel there's another new signing I've missed

No you're spot on Eamonn
-
Don't understand those full back selections particularly Taylor. Reeks of conservatism on a day where we need to keep the ball a lot better. Hourihane unlucky to be dropped imo.
-
Only thing I can think is with Luiz starting, which I didn’t expect, meaning SJM/JG changing position smith wants to avoid making too many changes at once.
-

Think he'll manage an hour and then start flagging, hopefully Dean is sharper with his subs than he was last week. Really surprised Marvellous isn't involved, he was involved in pre season for Lepzig game.
-
My guess with Marvellous is that he didn’t train much with Brugge before he joined us. Remember all those strike stories that came out because he felt Brugge lied to him or something. So he simply may not be as fit as the club needs at the moment.
-
Happy with the team, although Mark Lawrenson says we will be fine this season, which is a bit worrying!
-

That and I do think early on it’s a chemistry thing. Taylor/AEG and Elmo/Trez have all played together so maybe this early in the season it’s the best option. I am sure in time it will be Guilbert and Targett.
-
Could someone cry me a river please
-
I am sure Dean Smith knows what he's doing by integrating the players into the team. Ideally, I'd like Targett in for Taylor but he's not, so we crack on.

He did play in AFCON and Luiz was training on a beach for two weeks so can't think his core fitness is that much better.
Still hourihane wasn't too bad last week at DM so he can be o.k coming on to see last half hour if we're winning.
-
Needs to start playing Guilbert. It's doing my Fantasy team no good at all! :(
-
Happy with the team, although Mark Lawrenson says we will be fine this season, which is a bit worrying!
Paul Merson has just said on Soccer Saturday that he fears for us this season as he can't see us scoring enough goals. Now Alan McInally is picking faults in last weeks game and saying we will concede too many goals.

Not sure we will ever see a Conor, Jack, John midfield again as I suspect they are now interchangeable and DM is between Luiz and Marv

To quote a wise man
"Fuck 'em"

Too right. Smith's done that the whole time he's been here. If you've done enough to keep the shirt, you keep it. There can't be many things more demoralising for a player than losing out to a manager's pet.
-
Needs to start playing Guilbert. It's doing my Fantasy team no good at all! :(
You know if you take him out he'll start the next week. So indirectly, I blame you for not acting sooner!

Think we'll see it today actually, can't see Luiz lasting 90 minutes. I agree long term Hourihane will cover McGinn's position more.
-
And if any h&vers are in the queue for the UT on Trinity Road, nip round to the McGregor entrance, there's literally no queue there.
-

My first task at work on Monday morning! Apologies all. :(
-
I think long term Nakamba will cover for McGinn. And Hourihane for Luiz. Maybe Jota or Lansbury for Jack. Who knows but it’s nice to have a few legitimate options

Oh yeah I forgot about that. Almost picked him but didn’t. Don’t mind if rejoice at you expense do you?
-
More nervous today than last week.
That was a free hit, feels today we need to set out our stall and get at least a point on the board.
-
Apparently Spurs had more shots against us last week than we had faced since 2010 (also against Spurs).
-
C’MON VILLA!
-
We're back Baby!! Any kind soul know of any link options?
-
Shite.
-
Heaton had a meltdown.
0-1. King penalty.
-
FFS!
-
Good fucking lord what a start
-
Disaster conceding first goal. Having to push men forward with the pace they have on counter attack isn't great at all.
-
Anyone cry me a river please
-
Desperate hallenge from Heaton. Should have cleaned the forward out
-
Bollocks. No arguments there but what the fuck was Heaton doing?
-
Hopefully we will win a prem game....
-
Villa are back....
-
Didn't someone say in pre match predictions this might be a bit like MON home game against Reading in 2006? We conceded within two minutes that night aswell and came back to win.
-
Jacks record to continue?
-
Fucking hell. Watching this in Osaka. Come on Villa!
-
Jesus Christ. We're cursed in this league.
-
We are Aston Villa. We just don’t make things easy on ourselves.
-
We'll win this.
-
Idiotic
-
Close from McGinn.
-
Is Heaton too slow? Sounds like Wilson did him for pace.
-
plenty of time yet, no need to panic.
-
A bit better. We need to settle down now. What’s done is done. Get back on level terms as soon as possible.
-
Good effort from McGinn
-
Is Heaton too slow? Sounds like Wilson did him for pace.
Not really he wasn’t going anywhere it was just a stupid tackle
-
Fucking gutted. It's not being shown on RMC Sports. Fucking ******!
-
Is Heaton too slow? Sounds like Wilson did him for pace.
No just a bad decision from Heaton he should have gone to ground and slid in.
-
This is going well....
-
FUCKING HELL
-
Fucking hell!
-
We’re going down.
-
0-2.
Harry Wilson on his debut.
-
Fuck off
-
Think I preferred the championship....
-
What the fuck is going on.
-
I'll turn it off now in the hope I'm the hex.
-
What a fucking disaster. It’s like we never fucking left this bastard division
-
Over or under 17 points?
Genius dummy by Luiz
-
Joe Lolley just scored against SHA again.
-
Massive deflection of Mings. What the fuck was Luiz doing?
-
any little rivers going?
-
Jammy bastards, Cook got so lucky then
-
Fuck this.
-
The midfield is all wrong. There's a big fucking gap there.
-
We look a complete mess each time they come forward
-
And they are getting all the little bits of luck and jammy deflections.
-
Badly let by 2 new players who should no better.
-
Just looking at the fixtures (already written off today now). Everton on Friday is going to be very tough to win as will be West Ham and Arsenal after the break.
Really only Palace looks winnable and that's away and Zaha might be in a better mood by then.
Stating the obvious but in this league you don't want to be going into October still searching for a win.
-
Fucking awful free kick.
-
Mings playing it long all the time cos the midfield isn't creating any space. Fucking move!
-
Is it too early to start thinking what three teams are worse than us.
-
We need an Albion style comeback from 2-0 in that 4-3 win
-
Fulham aside - how have we managed to spend £140m on seemingly decent players and still ended up looking like a leaky fucking bag? Appalling football being played out there.
-
Great this is looking fucking ominous.
-
The midfield is all wrong. There's a big fucking gap there.
It should be more balanced than last week with an actual DM in.
I guess at any level of football conceding after the first minute is just a massive mental setback. Didn't help we then conceded another ten minutes later so now the crowd is quiet and starting to get negative again.
Think from watching last week aswell I'm not convinced we really have the fitness yet to play a competitive 90 minutes in this league either.
This happened when we made all those signings under Sherwood aswell.
Frustrating. This should've been a fantastic day but all gone flat very quickly.
-
Little lambs to the slaughter, think Villa are finding out just how ruthless this league is and why we needed experience in the side.
-
Is it too early to start thinking what three teams are worse than us.
Surely that won’t matter if we don’t get any points.
-
Grabban scored against SHA aswell now.
-

No!

Luiz nearly getting on the score sheet, for Bournemouth.

Luiz and Wesley look shocking.

Half of them aren't fit or playing. Dosen't help the most reliable and experienced of the signings made a very rash decision after a minute.
-
Jesus Christ. Just got home to this.
It’s appalling. What the hell is going on?? Losing 2-0 at home to Bournemouth. Not good enough at all...
Sounds sloppy, pathetic and like the players are utterly shell shocked. Again.
-
Nobody does party poopers like us. Our own party that is.
💩
-
I just think the championship was our level. I want to be proved wrong but we weren’t going to walk this league. Being Aston Villa isn’t enough. Early days yet but need to sort this shit out.
-
We need a goal before half time just to bring the belief back. What a terrible start.
-
Grabban scored against SHA aswell now.
Relevance
Did I miss the memo that score updates from other games are now banned from match threads? It's on WM anyway instead of our game.
-
There's hatfuls of goals left in this game yet. We've been shocking but no need to panic yet.
-
Grabban scored against SHA aswell now.
Who gives a fuck.
I really couldn’t give a fuck about the Noses or in fact anyone who played for us who no longer does. I’m furious enough about our own shower of bollocks.
-
We're getting a few corners at least. Need Mings to pop one in and get the crowd going again before half time.
-
Are we doing a Fulham? I’ll get my coat.
-
We haven't been outplayed. First was a horrendous moment of madness from Heaton, second was a world class strike. We will be OK.
-
I for one am looking forward to the doing a Fulham and grealish losing run comments.
-
Brighton 1-0.
-
Villa 0 Bournemouth 2.
-

Maybe. But where is their horrendous moment and where is our world class strike? That’s the bit that’s concerning me

That was better

Good point. If the other half were fit and playing, we could be 4-0 down already.
-
At least this is a wake up call for the insane people that were predicting a top ten finish.
17th will be a miracle

Hah. Ah, a bit of gallow humour does help. Good man 75

Would be outstandingly brilliant.
-
Wesley is doing a better job of holding the ball up
-
3 shots on target and 5 corners since the first goal so seems a decent response.
-
This league truly is ruthless. So little time to dwell on the ball. And when we have a chance we just need to be clinical.
-
Norwich 1 Newcastle 0 which is more relevance to our season....
Pukki.

The last thing to go should be one's sense of humour.
Sometimes, being a Villa fan, it's the only thing that keeps me going. 😂

Score a fucking goal Villa.
-
Wesley goes down quicker than a polish prostitute
-

Yeah Bournemouth are pretty decent at pressing, how Howe coaches them.
Need to find a team that takes an age to close us down, maybe Palace will be lax in that regard.
-
Not that I approve of this sort of thing, but does anyone know where a chap can see the carnage?

It's just people turning on each other here which happens every time Villa are struggling on the pitch. SoccerHQ is a good lad. Everybody chill for a second, we're in this together!
-
PL scores are fine. What’s the point of knowing about SHA though?
-
Oh well at least Steve Smith's out.
-
Harry Wilson and Billing are all over the pitch. Their movement is causing us all sorts of issues.
We were linked with Wilson weren't we? Wasn't sure whether he could step up to premier league yet but he can play on wing or upfront so did seem a very obvious player to complete the squad.
Billing showed some promise at Huddersfield so again would've seemed a realistic target.
-
Oh well at least Steve Smith's out.
Oooh, relevance, relevance, not even the same sport. Go stand in the corner you naughty boy!!
-
Fcukin Maidenhead have gone 2-1 up against Chorley.
-
PL scores are fine. What’s the point of knowing about SHA though?
I just found it amusing Lolley had scored yet again against them that's all. I rarely post in the plucky neighbours thread anyway. The score will get a massive cheer at half time when it's read out anyway.
In other news Bournemouth player booked. Shaping up to us needing them to go down to 10 men and then maybe miracle comeback can happen.
-
We desperately need a goal before HT
-
We are so shit from free kicks and corners. Need to massively improve if we want to get back in this game.
(Shudder) - that comment just took me back to 2015/16!
-
that is a yellow all day long
-
Red card. Wankers.
-
Interesting what Dean does at half time. Hourihane seems obvious sub and can see Jota being put on for one of wide players to try to narrow the midfield a bit and limit Bournemouth.

Wales 10 England 6, an hour gone.

This is our Leicester 3-2 game. We will come back to win. I can feel it.

McGinn hits side netting.
He'll score 10 at this level. Really need one or two of our attacking players to step up aswell, pretty sceptical on that.

I'm not sure Wesley will.
-
We've bet the house on Wesley. If it is going to take him.6 months to adjust we will be cut adrift at the bottom at this rate. The risk having no backup is looking insane
-

Jota shite last week when he came on. Nothing worked for him. Personally I'd rather see us go to 4-4-2 and stick Davis up front. The reliance on one up front clearly isn't working for us.
-
SJM playing them on his own here.
-
Who should’ve gone there?
-
Who should’ve gone there?
Elmo.
-
I rate Davis.
What’s the harm in giving him half a dozen games whilst Wesley comes up to speed..?
-
Ref is absolutely useless
-
A collective bollocking and tactical reset at half time please.
-
I rate Davis.
What’s the harm in giving him half a dozen games whilst Wesley comes up to speed..?
How will Wesley get up to speed if Davis is playing?
-
HOW TF IS BILLINGS STILL ON THE PITCH
-
That's Billing's 4th yellow by my reckoning.
-
I rate Davis.
What’s the harm in giving him half a dozen games whilst Wesley comes up to speed..?
It probably comes to the same thing, Davis is a young kid, playing in the top league for the first time too.
-
Wesley looks to me like 20 million quids' worth of liability.
-
Trezeguet shot cleared off line by Ake.
Heaton also made good save.
-
When will Billing get his second yellow?
-
Blocked on the line. Got to be more clinical. HT.
-
When will Billing get his second yellow?
Isn't VAR being used for all this?
Anyway all in all nightmare half. Welcome back to premier league football indeed.
-
Set piece deliveries are absolutely useless.
-
Fuck, that should have been a goal.
-
When will Billing get his second yellow?
not with this ref
-
Piss poor ref. I thought we went up a league?
-
It's all been so ragged, we don't have any sort of control, it's a bit brainless.
-
We have got into it later in that half, I still have concerns that we are carrying a few that are not up to this level.
The ref is atrocious and we are not going to get anything from him.
We score next we might get a point but I think we are just as likely to get picked off.
-
I hope Dean knows he has 8 games less this season. He needs to plan his 10 game win streak a little earlier.
-
SJM playing them on his own here.
Indeed. Jack is all over the shop, mainly marking El Ghazi out the game.
-
I'm not hammering Wesley based on two performances, but he's a spearhead forward in a team that doesn't look to have a sharp cutting edge in this league. It's putting it mildly to state that he could do with a goal in the second half.
-
Playing alright , punished for naive errors , we need a goal and we’ll go on to win this
-
Ref is Martin Atkinson so probably most experienced ref at this level now with Mike Dean.
As I've said before surely the VAR guy is watching this and telling him that Billing foul was worthy of another yellow?
Anyway feels a bit like the Swansea cup game last season. Think they scored a couple early on and just when things were looking better they picked another off on the break and it really was over at 3-0.
Can see same happening here. Interested to see what half time changes we make.
-
Jack was anonymous.
Luiz grew into the game and looks increasingly classy.
Wesley also getting better but doesn’t look like any kind of goal threat and appearing increasingly insane to be relying on him up front.
Worst set pieces I’ve seen for a long time - get Conor on?
I don’t think they’re better than us but hard to tell because we gave them a 2 goal head start.
-
It's one of those horrible ones.
-
We should know better than to expect any help from the crooked refs of the PL this season. If they're not Homers, then they favour established teams. See treatment of Cardiff last season for example. Sounds fucking awful I know, but we can't rely on fair decisions unfortunately. Learned that very quickly last week v Spurs.
-
It’s looking pretty fucking grim at the moment. Fight back Villa.
-
I'd rather we didn't gift them two goals. That way we'd be less reliant on the ref's decisions.
-
I dunno, he’s been soft on billing but otherwise don’t think he’s been that bad. We’ve been our own worst enemies.
-
A stupid penalty and a deflected own goal are the only things separate the teams. We need to move up a few gears second half.
-
Masters of our own downfall. Poor mistakes gifting them 2 goals.
Been reasonably even since, but we definitely lacked a cutting edge. Worrying the lack of attacking options on the bench
-
Fucking terrible ref but we’ve been atrocious. Masters of our own downfall. Wesley look like a big, shit, carthorse.
-

We tried to replace Tammy like for like and it’s not worked out yet at all. Tammy is much more mobile and instinctive. Wesley looks rather cumbersome so far.
-
Not sure about Wesley. Looked terrible at the start but got better and did some good work in the ball at the end of the half. Put it on a plate for trezeguet who has had all our best chances in the last 1.5 games and not made the most of any of them.
-
No subs. Surprises me. Guess we'll do them on the hour mark but we could be 3 down by then...
Phillip Billing btw has been subbed. That's very good management right there.

Completely different players. Tammy scores almost exclusively in the 6 yard box. Wesley rarely enters it.
-
Front three have been very poor but maybe that chance before half time might improve confidence. Agreed on balance in midfield looking amiss, we look wide open at times.

Like for like as in a player who can play up front on his own.
-
Mings also looks a bit sloppy to me. Out of position a few times.

Doubts about Tammy at this level but I'd be much more confident with him leading the line.
It's forgotton but when we signed Benteke we still had likes of Bent and Gabby. At the time they were proven premier league players so Benteke could develop without having pressure of leading the line.
Belgain league to premier league is massive step up. All seems a bit odd to me given what we spent and stockpiling CBs.

Luiz does look promising. Love how easily he stays on the ball and on his feet. Strong lad.
-
This game needs two goals.
-
thought that was in
-
Ffs same. Looked in.
-
Should have been a foul on Grealish.
-
This game needs two goals.
3 quick goals and build on that.
-
Am I allowed to post Scott Hogan has scored a goal....
-
Am I allowed to post Scott Hogan has scored a goal....
Yup! And good for him. Hopefully he'll get a load and we'll get some cash for him.
-
Just tuned in. WTF?!?!
-
Much better move
-
Am I allowed to post Scott Hogan has scored a goal....
You are, but I'm certainly not allowed to post he's got 2 now...
-
Just tuned in. WTF?!?!
Two brain-dead mistakes.
-
Said before the game to a colleague that if we couldn't beat Bournemouth at home in front of a sold out crowd that I'd be worried about us this season, and now I'm VERY worried, as we seem incapable of even scoring. FFS. Feels like 2015 again... only, somehow, worse.
-
Just tuned in. WTF?!?!
Me too. Frankly, I wish I hadn't bothered!
-
Norwich 2-0.
We will finish above Newcastle I reckon. Problem is that might only mean 19th.
-
El Ghazi has done less than fuck all for two games in a row.
-
Wesley's first touch is like a pinball flipper.
-
I’ve not been that impressed with El Ghazi so far. There’s a player in there somewhere... but he’s not quite up to PL standard in my mind yet...
Not saying he won’t be in time though.
-
Jota for AEG for me, and soon.
Give it another 10 minutes and Davis for Wes too.
-
Come on Villa ffs 😭😭😭
-
AEG lumps it up to nobody then spoils an attack with an offside.
-
Get El Ghazi off, Trez over on the left and Jota on the right.
-
AEG has been disappointed, i'd like us to take him off and bring Messi on.
-
Now NBC sports gonedown
-
El Ghazi has done less than fuck all for two games in a row.
Yeah seems to be struggling with the step up a fair bit. Surprised as he played games for Ajax in CL so it shouldn't be massively above his skillset.
We all saw how frustrating he was last year.
Can't understand why no changes made. You let games drift in the premier league and you'll lose most of them.
-
We’re not going to score here.
-
the ref is a fucking joke
-
and that should have been a goal
-
Big chance for Jack
-
Get El Ghazi off, Trez over on the left and Jota on the right.
الحصول على El Ghazi قبالة ، Trez على اليسار وجوتا على اليمين
-
Huge chance. Should have buried it all day long.
-
Jack's got to score there.
-
We've played some decent stuff since giving them a 2 goal start.
-
Well we can't say we didn't have a good chance.
-
We have. Second half we’ve looked like a team decent side albeit blunt up front. The brain farts in the first half have done us.
-
Who's Louise?
-
Looking at stats we've battered them.
Shots on target- 6-3
Corners 8-2
Possession 68-32%
Brutal truth is at championship level we'd probably be 3-1 up now.
-
We've played some decent stuff since giving them a 2 goal start.
Part of me wants to believe it’s the evolution of things. And it will come. The other part of me is massively concerned that we are just not clinical enough and we won’t be with the current set up and lack of striking options.
-

Aunt. Bollocks. Uncle, mate.
-
Southampton will remain below us, 2-0 down to Liverpool.
-

As they did last week. Brain farts in the Championship don’t hurt as much.
-
Conceding silly goals and struggling to score is not a good combo.
-
For what it’s worth, we’re playing some good stuff. The trouble is that actually we’re still making silly mistakes, leading to the 2 goals. And we’re not clinical enough at all.
More positives than negatives on that side. The trouble is that the positives aren’t scoring us any goals at the moment.
Need to be sharper
-
Goal!
-
The right wing cross from Elmo isn't working. Let's keep doing it.
-
I'm starting to worry that we won't win the league.
-
Doug.
-
What. A. Goal.
-
Conceding silly goals and struggling to score is not a good combo.
Yes that’s a pretty fatal combination.
-
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
-
Conceding silly goals and struggling to score is not a good combo.
Yeah that’s it. Without an obvious source of goals we are only going to win games by keeping it tight and we’ve been criminally sloppy.
-
Right come on, get another.
-
Yesssss
-
what a goal
-
Grandstand last 20 minutes then, crowd come alive again.
Cliche to say but draw would feel like a win today.
-
SCORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRCHIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
-
I've seen enough to think we'll be OK more or less, but I'm slightly concerned about the lack of a natural goalscorer.
-
Even though my stream hasn't shown it yet
-
Get El Ghazi off, Trez over on the left and Jota on the right.
الحصول على El Ghazi قبالة ، Trez على اليسار وجوتا على اليمين
?? Really.
-
Trezeguet does not impress.
-
Goooaaaaalllllllllllllllllll Belter! Doug.
-
Norwich 3-0.
You just know Newcastle will sack Steve Bruce a week or two before we play them.
Pukki hat trick. Fair play, didn't think he'd step up but that's 4 in 2 games for him.
-
And now i've seen it, jammy fuck was crossing it!
-
Shit the bed, what a fucking strike!!!
-
Thank fuck for that! I was on a beer for every Villa goal.
-
Brilliant finish from Douglas, placed into the top corner from 25 yards, fucking brilliant technique.
-
I hope Soares de Paulo (71' minutes) BBC Live - can get another!
-
Get the fucking equaliser Villa.
-
el ghazi pass the fucker to jack
-
That goal from Luiz was so good John McGinn's impressed.
-
Jota coming on for AEG. Trez to the left
-
COME ON VILLA.
-
Who's Louise?
Can you ask who's Trezzie?
-
AEG pass it ffs
-
And now i've seen it, jammy fuck was crossing it!
Huh, no one else thinks so. Wasn't Juampi in the League Cup semi against Bolton, was it?
-
It's the right change but I'd have made it a bit sooner.
-
We have outplayed Bournemouth. Absolutely battered them. We will win.
-
Good change, Jota is more of a goal threat for me.
-
It's getting Jot in here.
-
We have outplayed Bournemouth. Absolutely battered them. We will win.
I’ll take a draw at the moment.
-
We have outplayed Bournemouth. Absolutely battered them. We will win.
Only father time can deny us...
-
Cut out the dopey mistakes and get more of a cutting edge up front and we'd be more than a bit decent
-
We have outplayed Bournemouth. Absolutely battered them. We will win.
I’ll take a draw at the moment.
Same. Get that point on the board.
-
Fuck me Jack. You have to be better
-
Very pleased it was him too. Great goal and great performance after the first 15 mins.
-
I’ll take a draw. A draw would be a good result now.
-
A draw would be a great result from here and would have been a decent result anyway.
-
Solanke on for Wilson for them.
-
I’ll take a draw. A draw would be a good result now.
dUH! Unless we equalise quickly.
-
I realised how stupid that sounded just after I’d written it. Had my toddler climbing up my leg and my wife shouting at me...
-
Targett for Taylor and gamble a bit more going forward. Please.
-
When you see Adrian's fuck up for Southampton's goal...
-
Fuck me they really should have scored a third
-
Targett for Taylor and gamble a bit more going forward. Please.
Listen I love Dean Smith but honestly, if he doesn't make that exact change right now, you'd have to wonder what the fuck is going on. 14m for a left back you're not going to play? Madness.
-
We’re not equalising here.
-
Fuck me c’mon Villa 10 min left with stoppage time. Get something FFS
-
Need to get more men in the box considering how often we cross it
-
Targett for Taylor and gamble a bit more going forward. Please.
I think Taylor's in for a claim for MOTM. Very good game so far.
-
After that ropey start only AEG and to a lesser degree Wes haven't played well.
-
Two moments of madness and we fucked this up at the start. Because we have played well otherwise.
-
Davis on.
-
Targett for Taylor and gamble a bit more going forward. Please.
I think Taylor's in for a claim for MOTM. Very good game so far.
But offers nothing going forward, and we need a goal :(
-
Jota looks terrible. Catfished us in preseason good and proper.
-
Just poor from Wesley. Balls get caught under his feet too often.
-
Imagine us against Man City and Liverpool......not great is it?
-
Jota looks terrible. Catfished us in preseason good and proper.
Jota looked great with Guilbert behind him making the overlap and creating space, I don't think him and Elmo work.
-
Just poor from Wesley. Balls get caught under his feet too often.
Crikey! Ouch! Etc.
-
Should be five minutes added on, get a corner or set piece close to box and see what happens.
-
Wesley did the hard part, pass it!
-
Newcastle scored a goal.
-
5 min added on
-
Bad loss this. Everyone up for it apart from the team.
-
Should be five minutes added on, get a corner or set piece close to box and see what happens.
Wayeye! Steve?
-
Wesley did the hard part, pass it!
Again though, he turned looking for support and Elmo was 30-40 yards away, in that position you want the full back right with him giving a 2nd crossing option.
-
No focal point up front whatsoever. There’s almost no point crossing. We’ve got the likes of Taylor and SJM lining up to head it.
Failure to buy another striker looking like a potential season ruining fuck up.
-
This isn’t going to happen
-
Bournemouth running down the clock pretty well, won a couple of corners.
-
Nope, this is a bad result.
-
Next week I would much rather we start Guilbert/Jota down the right and Trez on the left. AEG hasn’t done it and I’d get Targett in toon
-
We are poor.
-
This is textbook clock killing by Bournemouth
-

Pretty sure we'll see 3-4 changes for that. Really need to get the new signings up to speed, we've spent more than enough on them.
-
What a very disappointing day.
-
Free kick about 25 yards out, final action of the game.
-
I'm afraid losing at home to Bournemouth is pretty much a disaster.
-
Full time.
-
Very disappointing. We need to be much much sharper than this if we’re going to stay up.
-
Cut out the silly mistakes.
-
Very poor. Cannot gift teams 2 goals at this level.
Mcginn and Luiz(after his error) very good. The rest mediocre
-
What a poor result, theses are the teams we need to beat. we don't expect anything from Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, etc but we must get points from those in our part of the league.
-
Frustrating.
-
Welcome back to the fecking Premier League. :o
-
I'm afraid losing at home to Bournemouth is pretty much a disaster.
Well West Ham lost to them at this stage last season and indeed lost first four. Finished 10th.
I don't think it's a bad thing to get a reality check early on. Some of the hype and finishing predictions across social media on the back of largely untried signings was pretty crazy, almost like we've learnt nothing from 2015.
Obviously we need some points on the board soon, Eveton not going to be easy team to play at all as they have lots of quality in final third.
-
What a poor result, theses are the teams we need to beat. we don't expect anything from Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, etc but we must get points from those in our part of the league.
On this showing, Bournemouth will not be in our part of the league. They'll be comfortably mid-table. We'll be struggling to survive.

I don’t agree with that. The massive difference today is that we were not clinical. Look at the stats. Outside of a couple of terrible errors we were the better team. If you didn’t know the score and just saw the other stats you’d be convinced we won.

At least this is a wake up call for the insane people that were predicting a top ten finish.
17th will be a miracle
Do you want to bet against us?
