2-0
-
We need to win this, big game. 2-1 Villa
-
Please, no repeat of last season's result or display after a pulsating derby match win! (QPR after Wolves).
-
Pulis light avec movement and Pulis plus avec air bombardment coming up.
We've got to be better in our use of the ball. We need McGinn back and Smith said he was desperate to play yesterday.
I'd go with;
Nyland
Taylor
Chester
Tuanzebe
Hutton
Hourihane
McGinn
Kodjia
Grealish
Bolasie
Tammy
Two enforced changes but just freshens us up too. There's a lot of attacking talent and intent there. We need to deal better with the high ball, but I don't see Forest playing that way.
Only seen them against the Noses so far. Important that we win and I think we shall.
-
3-0 Tammy x2 and Jack
-
Think this will be more difficult than Sunday. Forest have the 2nd best form in the league (unbeaten in their last 5 3w 2d). Pretty much another must win game due to our pish start. I fear Forest may get something from this - 4-2 it is then. Hutton with all 4.

There is that concern to be honest and I think the coaching staff have to watch out for that. This is the start of what looks a really important run of games and is a run which could well decide our season to be honest.
-
Real six-pointer this. Such was Bruce's shit start to the season, we've got very little wriggle room at all, so we've got to beat Forest. Win and we're level on points, probably get rid of the goal difference between us, and will be within a point or two of the play offs (depending on other results). Lose and we'll be six points behind Forest, probably 7/8/9 points off the play offs, and leaving ourselves too much to do.

Can't agree with that. Obviously it would be much more preferable to close the gap as quickly as possible, but to write off the season if we lose is way too pessimistic.
-
Absolutely. We're not even half way through the season yet.
Anyhoo 1-1
-
Keep the momentum going before 2 very difficult away games where points will be hard to come by. We need a win.
-
Forest are 7th in current form. We are 4th.

I'm not writing it off, just saying that it will be a very big ask. It already is, to be honest. We've just won three on the bounce and are still four points off a play off place.
-
Well last season after good results again for SHA and WW we messed up. Please Dean avoid similar fate. Remind players that beating them and scoring 4 in nothing if we don’t do well in the next match.

Any one know places to watch in Boston MA
Don’t go to the Boston library they have no TVs there.
-
We’ll need to keep Grabban quiet, he’s banging them in at the moment. I’ll go 2-1 to us
-

Parlour Bar, Boston Lions meet there, or they did, watched the playoff final with them, great people
-
Hopefully we'll win but our injuries are certainly mounting up now.
I suspect Adomah will be out for a while. Barny & Jedi still injured. Bree is injured and Looks like Lansbury won't be an option for a while, albeit both very much fringe players at the moment. I wonder how Chester is after Sunday and if he'll manage 3 tough games in a week.
If Chester is ok we still have a strong first XI, particularly if McGinn is back, but we're struggling to rotate and can't really afford any more injuries.
-
We'll shit 'em.
Villa 2 Them 0

Any one know places to watch in Boston MA
Yes, as a matter of fact I do:
A bar called Lir on Boylston Street. I watched the Bolton game in there recently. I think it's where the official Boston AVFC group meet, although nobody was in when I was there.

Empty seats m'lord?

We need to carry on our good form so 2-0 Villa win.
-
Did someone on here reckon Bolasie was close to startable for yesterday? Be good if he is.
-
Grabban is in very good form - 10 goals so far. Can see a few goals in this, dare I say 4-2 to Villa?
-
I liked Grabban but he could drift out of games when we weren't having much of the ball. Be key to avoid him seeing it too often as hes a good player.
-
Thanks 3 Spires , Risso and otlafab, Boston Library it is then.
-
Another tough game, would love another win but think it will be a draw 2-2
-
1-1.
Forest have picked up lately.
-
Forest have only conceded once in five games
I think we'll win. But we need to have our finishing boots from Sunday, whilst defending about a thousand times better or grabban and lolley are bound to score
-
It will be very early in the morning in Bangkok when I’ll be watching this. Villa to take it 3-1; Jack, Tammy and Bolasie
-

looked a lot fitter and strong in possession yesterday, I expect it will be his first start of the season for AA.
Grabban is a fine player at this level but Forest dont seem the type of side set up to expose our lack of physicality at the back.
Another reason Id get Elmo back to right back, he is decent in the air.
-
Forest are 7th in current form. We are 4th.
We must be looking at different form guides. Forest's last 5 games they have won 3 d2. Where as we have won 3 and lost 2.
-

-
I am concerned about Grabban. We must be better defensive if John is back, that will be a big plus
-
We're due a draw but not sure if Deano does them? We might be a bit leggy from Sunday, 1-1.
-
Hope this isn't like the QPR game after Wolves last season. Smaller crowd, flat atmosphere and after the Lord mayor's show.
-

No definite answer, but maybe McGreevy's on Boylston or Cask n Flagon / Tony C's over by Fenway.
However, the Villa game is only on the Red Button
-

Cheers PWS. Yeah looking at different form guides - 5 matches as opposed to 6 (I obviously prefer us to be above everyone so happy with that). Show's just how tight it is and just how important it is that we continue this run to have any chance of top 2.
-
It still feels strange feeling positive about us before a game, Forset are playing well and will trouble our defence, but with our new methods of closing down and keeping the ball added to our fire power, we are a threat to anyone in this league. Hope Bolasie starts, maybe freshen up a couple of other places too. 3-1 to us.
-
Not heard any news on the extent of Albert's injury?

It would be great to see Bolasie start. But whilst Smiths football has been adventurous his line ups have generally looked pretty conservative. I wouldn't be surprised to see Elmo start on the right and him reserve Bolasie for impact later in the game.
My guess would be Elmo and McGinn in for Albert and Whelan. But if Bolasie is ready to start that would be great.
-
I thought this would be a tougher test for us than the Blose game (honest!) - so I hope my hunch is spectacularly wrong. I've gone for the draw (1-1), but would be absolutely delighted if we can keep the winning run going. Hopefully SJM will have recovered fully & add his energy & nous to proceedings.

I think Karanka will turn up looking for a draw, he has that Bruce cautiousness. They will be hard to breakdown and we cannot afford to be profligate with chances created. 3 goals from 20+ shots at Derby is no where near ruthless enough as, in many games we will only get a handful of chances and need to convert a higher percentage. We need McGinn back for this one.
All said, I think we will sneak it 2-1 (Grabban for them!) and the momentum builds....
-
Tense, but we'll win.
-
This is gonna be tough, if we start like we did on Sunday, we'll lose. Along with Norwich, Forest are the form team at the moment, lost only 2 all season. Grabban and ex Harriers and Villa fan Joe Lolley are the danger men.
If SJM plays Villa win, if not going for a draw.
-
I don't think we look conservative at all.
Sunday we had Hourihane, Grealish, Adomah, Kodjia and Abraham and would have had McGinn as we did at Derby.
All of them are a threat going forwards.
-
If Chester was playing injured then who will replace him?
-
2-1 us
-

What I meant is the line ups have been pretty similar to what Bruce was picking (with the obvious exception of defensive roles) but obviously the football has been worlds apart. I can recall there being quite a few disgruntled people on match threads when the likes of Hutton & Elmo etc retained their places when people were expecting the likes of Bree and O'Hare to be drafted in and Bolasie to be starting.
I'm not trying to be controversial and there's no implied criticism here at all, I was just speculating that I think he may pick Elmo over Bolasie for the time being. I may be wrong!
-
Bolasie doesn't look like a starter yet. It's easy to forget after such a brilliant goal by Hutton, but the move actually started from a really poor crossfield ball from Bolasie that went astray.
-
Just keep winning Villa!
-

I feel for him over that, his misplaced pass is going to be viewed for time immemorial.

I think this is an AVTV stream, ie. not on ESPN+, so assuming you have a subscription you should be able to stream it on your phone or laptop anywhere there is a good (wifi) signal. If you were in CT you could come watch at my house.

If they aren’t ready because of a misplaced pass then none of our squad should start.

And the cross at Derby for McGinn's headed goal?

Thanks CT, that means I need to take lap top as does not seem to stream well on IPad.
Where in CT are you?
-
My gut feeling is a 2-2 draw. As Villa Lew has already said, Grabban and Lolley are a big goal threat for them.

About 10 miles from Hartford.
-
A home win but a close one. 3-2
-
Bolasie & Mcginn start and we begin with a lot of energy. Which will help the defence. Chester needs to play his more natural game and feed it quicker to the midfield to distribute the ball. 3-1 Tuanzebe to literally man mark Grabban .....
-
3 1
chester woodcock
kodja
bolaise
-
Villa fans do seem to score against us so Lolley will probably get a goal..
-
The requisite win by a couple to go above them, and into December on a roll.
Taylor, Abrahams and Adomah for us.
-
win tonight we go 4 on the bounce and sit on the doorstep of the play offs and 7 points of top spot
massive game as they all will be now
2-0
-
Got to win.
-
Please, no repeat of last season's result or display after a pulsating derby match win! (QPR after Wolves).
Yes indeed, after the emotion of the Wolves match we basically threw away the chance for automatic promotion.
-
A win tonight really sets us up right to attack the play-off positions going into Christmas, 2-0 Aston Villa win, the rich vein of form continues.
-
Any news on McGinn starting and the extent of Albert's injury?
-
Anyone know where I can get the game shown in London tonight?
-

Not much chance of Adomah even playing.

BBC saying Albert definetly out with twisted ankle.

Weather down in South West is shocking. Afternoon off, so leaving work soon for Villa Park. Hopefully not another QPR performance after Wolves last year. UTV
-
very nervy 1-0 to us
-

Shocking? You're just getting the tail end of Storm Diana. Some of us have been weathering the tropical storm in the middle of the Atlantic for the last two days and still managed to get out and about. Enjoy the game.
I'm more nervous about this game than Sunday. We really need the 3 points, I just hope the players aren't too bruised and battered from the game against our neighbours. 1-0 Villa. Axel from a corner in the 2nd half.

We've got arguably the toughest two away games of the season coming up after tonight so a win would be good.
-
Boro away isn't tough for us.
The Albion game has the potential to be 5-5 or something daft like that.
-

I don't think one slight nudge on Huttonaldo did much damage! The only person I can see missing the game would be Albert, and hopefully Super McGinn will be back.
-
Forest love to foul .
They have most yellow cards in league.
Expect them to have a few more tonight.
Grealish needs looking after and it's concerning having Colback and Yacob (two agressive players ) in their midfield.
Yacob makes Craig Gardner look cultured and won't be surprised he'll be doing kefitenbeld style early hack on Jack.
I like to Mcginn therefore for this one add the tenacity but also whelan or jedinak next to him
Forest are decent but villa will perhaps perform better than the derby result and with controlled position and attacking play let's say 3-1.
Grealish
Abraham
Kodjia
Grabban to score for them !
-

Well one thing v Boro I'll be less than hopeful every corner we concede .
And any long throw or set pieces
Aidan Flint (type of centre half we need) and Ayla are ridiculously dangers and if villa defend like did against blues corners then it's a major problem.
-
2-2
for Villa Tammy and a Grabban OG ;D
for Forest Grabban and Lolley.
-
2-1, it should be a tougher game than Sunday.
-
He scores with his head,
He scores with his head,
Jack Grealish,
He scores with his head.
Hoping for another off any part of his anatomy tonight.

I know we won't win every game
but with our new leader i always think we will win e very time we play

I maybe should have put potentially the toughest as I think they are arguably the two strongest sides in the league.

Mmm we need a new defence

I was almost right with my comment
He scores with his balls
He scores with his balls
Tammy Abraham
He scores with his balls
Or was it his dick?
