Good record down there. Albion mate said they were desperate but they've picked up a bit since.

McGinn and Thor providing legs and drive will improve us.

Looks like Tammy is fit but Albert is not. Bolasie to have his first start.

I'd like to see Bree get a game at right back too.

Fascinating prospect to see how the team respond to Tuesday's setback. The return of SJM will help and I'm going to stick my neck out for a win.

1-0

Hang on, shouldn't this be QPR v Aston Villa?

I think we're looking at the same result as Tuesday unfortunately. We've just not had enough time to get the plan in the players' heads.

Shepherd’s Bush road get well oiled before what I expect a hard 90 mins with a low in confidence villa looking for 3 points. Yes we can do this

Win. 2-1 to Villa. We will be better going forward. Move Hutton to left back.  Bolasie and Tammy up as the front three with Kodjia.  We can’t defend to let’s go all Kevin Keegan and attack.

QPR beat Sheffield Wed 3-0 last Tuesday so we'll do well to avoid defeat. Defence worries me greatly so 2-1 defeat, unfortunately.

QPR started terribly but are now on a decent run of form. I did however have them down as one of the three to go down in my pre season predictions and they haven't done enough to change my mind just yet. 2-1 to Villa is my prediction.

Schteve has got these playing well at the minute so I'd be happy with a draw - 1-1 - then Deano's got a full week for the first time to train the squad and get his methods into practice ready for Bolton

Fair play to McBrolly, he's proved a lot of people wrong, including myself who thought he'd be gone before the end of October (yes, technically he still could). Will be difficult, they're deffo better than us at the minute. High scoring loss 3-2/4-3 to them.

Seems Deano is not going to get any of this honeymoon period that so often is the case, that said, he knows what he's got and what he's up against after the other night, I'm going for a fine bounce back victory, 1-3 Villa, I wouldn't grumble if we could get a draw out of this, another performance and a loss to mirror the last game and eyebrows will be shockingly raised and heaps on loads more pressure.

I hope it's not the eze show the former arsenal graduate was quite star at Villa Park and putting in some eye catching performance . It's what Grealish should be doing effectively and if that's another player over shadowing Grealish making it look easy creating big chances, assisting , scoring then will be frustrating to watch some opposition do what Grealish should do.

But then again we also have Bolasie who can add a whole other dimension

They signed Hamed who's very decent at this level and nakhi Wells who is also decent for scoring goals

Along with Eze and Freeman who I rate I don't see Villa nlt conceding

However the villa score every game and thinking an outscore of 2-4 could be on the cards .

We have bolasie to steal the show.
McGinn to run the middle

Oh and please give Hutts and Elmo a rest .
Hutton 14 matches and Elmo 13 .
Smith to have a look at others and we have squad to 'rest' these two!

We're in that awkward phase of a new manager with new ideas and players who don't fit the bill and haven't had long enough to really take on the new thinking, or in some cases simply aren't able to. QPR are ahead of us in that respect. If we lose, we need to remain patient. We will get there.

With the manager still finding his settling in I think with this sort of match its about doing a professional job and just grinding out a win rather than worrying about how we play.  Our away form does need to improve.  But I think this is a very winnable game, and I will go for a scrappy 1-0 which I would take.  Tammy to get another goal.

Dorset, you're a saint for the Villa cause. You should be putting in your expense claim to the club backdated for all the years of travel, at the current rate of £0.45 per mile you should get enough reimbursement to buy an apartment in the Mailbox to have a more relaxing match-weekend experience going forward.

I'd suggest Ads name be put forward too for the AVFC Benevolence Fund, but he's a young, smart-ass hot-shot lawyer, so will have to wait his turn.

At some point Westfield must surely recognise that they're losing out on a fortune by charging such cheap rates for parking compared to most other places in the area.

I sometimes leave my car there for three days for the price of just a few hours in other car parks nearby

Yep.  I don't think he'll go this attacking.  I expect Taylor will keep his place and Elmo will stay at Wing.  Would be interested to see Bree have a run, but suspect he will stick with Hutton to try to keep it tight.

Taylor is better than Hutton at left back.
That is a moot point.  To date he has been awful.  I agree that potentially he could be better, but so far he is one of the worst players I've ever seen in a Villa shirt.  If I was choosing a team for a one off game (as opposed to considering the wider picture of trying to play Taylor into form) I'd have Hutton over Taylor without a doubt.

Taylor v Hutton.
Taylor is better defensively but useless with the ball.
Hutton is a liability even though he shows for the ball and makes the odd foray.
We should play Taylor but the left winger needs to be showing for the ball not like Khazi who ran away like a schoolgirl being bothered by a tramp.

Got to be far better in possession as well Paul.  We gave away the ball far too easily too many times on Tuesday night and have got to be better.

Don’t understand how so many keep defending him when he’s clearly not doing enough. Someone once said he is “mercurial” and I agree - he shows up far too infrequently and is a luxury too many times.
