I don't think you can read anything into the line ups from Saturday to tonight to Friday. With three games in seven days surely he was always going to shuffle the pack a couple of times. Also, it is an ideal chance to give different players a chance to impress him. Whatever his opinions from the outside looking in I am sure he will have learnt a lot more about what he has inherited by the end of this week after seeing them in training and three games.

To be honest I'm not going to comment on the team selection at all for a week or two. What Deano says is fine by me. He's clearly setting the team up differently which is what I wanted, not sure the personnel was the problem before it was the tactics.

Im not Whelan biggest fan, but Smith did comment about energy levels at the end of the Swansea game, so I can understand him freshening things up, especially if McGinn is missing. It's important that we use the ball better for longer, in Dean we trust.

Yeah I'm not going to comment on the team selection until we actually see them play, because we have no idea how these players will respond to DS's ideas. BB looked like a man transformed on Saturday, for instance, and Elmo at right wing, a selection that looked especially Brucey, was good and set up the goal. So I'm withholding judgement for now!

You can tell how little Bruce worked on passing and movement when the new bloke comes in and tries to implement it and how poor we look at times. But it also shows in the division that having attacking intent and discipline defensively goes such a long. Throw in the undoubted quality we have in our squad even with our current deficiencies we should be better than most. We won't win every game but have a positive attitude and a plan will give us a better than even chance to win games at this level.

I think Fitness is the biggest problem, too many of our players are tired. The fitness coaching under Bruce was shit, that's a big part of why we played so slowly all the time.

I don't like him because he doesn't contribute anything. Watch the game back and look for how often he stops the ball before passing or crossing and look at how much space he loses because of it, that's just not good enough for an international full back.

That was a shocking second half. Grealish dead ball kicks were shocking. Why was he taking the corners on the right? We scored when Hourihane took an inswinger But it's not all doom and gloom. I think Deano must now know the size of the task and he will turn it round. There are several players who need to part company with AVFC as they just aren't good enough. Still onwards and upwards. Scrappy game but I though until the injuries we were slightly the better side. Having 2 go off in quick succession disrupted us and, as Smith said, if Abraham had been on the pitch for the corner for their equaliser he would be on the front post and likely headed it away.
I doubt that the manager has had time yet to properly assess the full squad but after Friday the schedule is a bit less hectic which will hopefully give him more opportunity.
