I think they are better off staging Rugby games at Ricoh in any case.

I don't. It's a terrible venue, inaccessible by public transport. Even The Sty would have been a better choice.

Yeah but I'm sure I read it doesn't run when there are matches on, or some such nonsense.

I saw Rugby Sevens at the Etihad (before it was the Etihad) and at Ibrox during the Manchester and Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Both venues were packed on each occasion and they weren't finals nights. In my opinion it's a pity that the best stadium in Birmingham won't play its part and be seen all around the globe.
