I’m coming to the match with my very pregnant other half on Saturday and wondered which venue would be the best to go to pre-match?
-
I understand that The Holte Pub is only for Lions Club members now, and there may even be some kind of booking policy.
The Holte Suite is fine but there starts to be a queue to get in sometime between 1.30-2pm.

Amfy is right about the Holte Pub being for Lions Club members. Besides, your wife would have a better chance of getting a seat in the Holte Suite.
-
If you know anyone who is going the Holte Pub then it is a big yes as compared to the Holte Suite which is a bit sterile, reserved correctly in my view for season ticket holders and operates a queing system. However you would need to gain entrance first to the Holte Pub which has been pointed out correctly as being a Lions Club exclusive venue.
Better choices are the Social and Tavern

Do you have to be a season ticket holder to get in the Holte Suite or can Claret members / Cubs members get in?

You have to be a season ticket holder. No idea about Claret or Cub members.

Can anyone tell me why there was a queue to get in the Holte Suite at 1pm? I very much doubt it was full that early?

They let a handful of people in every 5 - 10 minutes to ease the flow at the bars. It’s an absolute joke of a place and the beer borders on being undrinkable.
I wouldn’t recommend the place to anyone.

We gave up, it was ridiculous.

The practice of creating a queue for the sake of it is very odd if you ask me. Genuine question. Why would anyone choose to patronise a venue that keeps its customers stood outside when there is plenty of space inside? Do they think it’ll be like the first day of the Harrods sale if they just let people enter at will? Surely staffing the venue more adequately is the answer, rather than discouraging customers?
I’m glad that I usually choose to drink in town - I certainly won’t ever bother with the Holte pre match again.
-
The capacity of The Holte Suite is ridiculously low for its size on match days. I’ve often been stood in a queue outside when there’s loads of space inside but they’re having to operate a one out/ one in policy on the door.

New season, same shit service. Why on earth can they not see the benefit of bottle bars around the perimeter to free up space at the pumps for pints? It’s really not difficult.
